    The Gold snoffed.

"Protecting it? Those things don't even know about it! That's why we need it! If they were protecting the book, they would already be using the book on Solgard. But West it is."

The Dragon swooped hard, and the G's of the dive almost drove Feenix off of the back of the Dragon. as if it would've mattered. Her wings would've easily let her swoop down and land without a hassle. But the thrill of flying faster then she ever could was quite exhilarating. She held on as the Dragon made a sudden stop, and gently landed upon the soft Earth.

    "Now, off we go."

Before Feenix could even speak again, the Gold had used his magicks to turn him into the estranged Solus Guardian that Feenix had encountered earlier.

Feenix gazed around. Before her, a flat of plains and individual trees poking out of the ground had made up the country side. There were two trees growing relatively close off to the North; more plains to the right; a small patch of woods to the south (which looked an awful lot like the ones that she and Jade had gone into), and more plains to the East.

"You observe upstairs when they open the civilian doors! GEAR HIM UP!!!

Qwafi had retrieved the writing utensil and paper from Orophin's hand while Medge came up and grabbed a hold of his arm, taking him to the weapon's stand.

"Choose a weapon, fine lad! We have every type you could imagine!"

There were dozens of weapons to choose from: Medge had a rack of Scythes, Pila, Swords, Axes, Halberds, Maces, Spears, and even throwing weapons.

    ----------------

At the center of the ring, Pandora had had his upper torso garments removed, and given a helmet. People were coming in and cheering while they were sitting down and getting ready for the match. Onlookers were ordering their ales from associated pit employees, and getting their nuts and bread from a man throwing loaves to the crowd. The Arena could easily have sat 800 people, and it was all underground, which made it that much more amazing. Various doors and portcullis' were lined around the edge of the ring, holding who knows what. Another poor sap had been thrown out into the middle of the ring with Pandora, a man who had appeared to be a slave. He was withering, had grey hairs, and wore slave belts around his ankles. He had a small dagger and grey tattered robes hanging off of his waist and loins. A third man was also brought to the center of the ring, Easily in his 40's with a strong build. His facial hair was long, and many cheered for him as he came to stand next to Pandora and the old man. He held a chained scythe which he raised to the crowd. Those sitting at their seats erupted into applause and cheer. They were now awaiting their fourth, who was getting geared up by Medge and Qwafi at that very moment.

Again... it also depends on what laser fire could be. Maybe the nature of laser fire still uses a good amount of energy during firing and recharging, so the instantaneous speed of laser fire could only be used so much. In a time where bigger is better, it seems obsolete to use anything low-powered and quick-firing when protective armor can easily defend from such an attack.

Which reminds me... post in Solgard. It's not like I killed your character off or anything.

Ever curious, Brodi looked around first, checking out the gate up ahead for not even a few seconds, then checking for a fat purse that anybody was carrying. His stomach grumbled some more, and he feared that it might give him away if an unlikely timed pick were to occur. He strode up to the first man he saw, who's obvious attention was towards the gate right now, and went for the gold...

Medge turned to the other man who had followed them down into his Forge.

"So, there! You want to get in on some of the pit fighting action? You don't half expect to walk down here uninvited and not end up in the pits..."

    Medge was looking at Orophin.

It was all in slow motion... He sprinted out from the Alley way, when he turned to hear the Captain telling his men to fire at the infidel. Then, looking at the sky, He saw the screaming terror of the Gozhuloxus, as it opened its mouth to reveal oblivion to the onlooker...

I don't have a problem with the turn based system, I have a problem with the timing.

As he was about to head out into the thicket of battle, the Captain's hand grabbed hold of his arm, this time with a brute force that was very unpleasant to Elesor.

"Sir, if you plan to live, I suggest that you stay here for your own protection! Unless you want to fight one of–"

An ear-shattering bellowing made a Solus Guardian out in the street clutch his head in agony, when a Golox had swooped from the sky to grab hold of him and take him into the air.

"If you go out there, you better plan on fighting those things, or we will attack you as if you were an enemy to Solgard!!!"

I thought you wanted to stay away from complexities? I mean, we can think about it, but it will only begin to complicate the process once more.

Well, it looks like something like that will work. So, what about weapons? should they have a certain amount of energy they use and a certain amount of damage they do?

ie. Laser cannon: :1mana:, Damage, 3

And what about actions per turn?

Lash dove at the last minute, and Feenix was able to get her sword out far enough to dis member a wing. The Dragon had kept on the creature's heels, making sure to avoid the gaze of doom it possessed. Lash started bringing his wings closer in and dove as the one-winged creature fell helplessly behind them.

"Get ready! We are going lower!" Lash cried out, as they dove into a cloud. the mist stung Feenix's face as they dove through the cloud, and before long, the plains of Solgard stretched before them, and the ocean far off in the distance.

Checking to make sure his aft and sides were clear of any winged demons, Lash spoke to Feenix. "I think we are more or less over the area, but what do you think? More east or more west?"

    =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Elesor's stunt could've inadvertently been the doom of several Guardians.

"What the... Wait! Hold... no fire!! FIRE!!!"

Confused, the Guardians looked at Elesor, then at the sky, and all too late. Two of the flying devils had swooped down and stole the Solus Guardians from their position as the Captain and several others dodged away. The defenders quickly took arms again, aimed, and shot one of the beasts from the sky, making it release its victim. he tumbled several feet, and one of the Guardians quickly went over to examine his buddy.

Another detachment of Solus Guardians arrived on the scene as the people started running amok. Men, women and children scattered for the cover of the homes scattered around the busy streets, some people dodging into alleys while others dodged into open doors of people's houses they didn't even know. Elesor caught a volley of Pilese fly into the air and bring another of the winged creatures to the ground, and then hands grabbed around Elesor's shoulders, taking him to the protection of an alley. It was the Captain who had almost lost two of his soldiers.

"What the hell were you thinking out there!? You nearly got my men killed!"
