My wife and I love puzzles framed as art, and this was an awesome find.
The problem is that I have looked online, and can't find any info on additional designs. I can't even find confirmation that this Ajani one exists, and I have it in my hands!
The box has company info for:
but I haven't been able to confirm anything.
Any thoughts or info? I could really use a Chandra one for Christmas at minimum.

Sep 23, 2017Here is my mono-white modern: Mono-White Ally AggroPosted in: Budget (Modern)
Being allies it is quite different, but you might see some stuff you like. Fortify, in particular has been excellent, and Dawn Charm is a very nice surprise card.
If you do decide to start sideboarding, for your list I'd include some Rootborn Defenses. It will really surprise the hell out of wrath-heavy opponents.
Sep 23, 2017Thanks for the feedback!Posted in: Budget (Modern)
That deck is interesting, but feels like it would actually play out very differently. With that one, you need to go wide to win in a timely manner, whereas in mine I am really only going to have 1-2 creatures out most games that want to hit for 4-5 a turn.
Those cards are indeed superior to Flying Men, except for:
- The bug-eyed surprised look you get when you drop a Flying Men on the board... lol
Vapor Sang is certainly a consideration, but I am generally more worried about keeping my creatures alive than bouncing my opponent's stuff. Thus far, Mizzium Skin has been one of the better cards in the deck, 'countering' Maelstrom Pulses, Cryptic Commands, and one extremely irritated opponent's Snap Caster Mage'd Abrupt Decay, along with all the other incidental removal spells.
And plopping Ordeal of Thassa on an Invisible Stalker is just too addictive to give up.
Any thoughts on the sideboard? What do you think of the new Storm Fleet Aerialist?
Sep 22, 2017I made this to be hyper-budget, and it is performing amazingly well.Posted in: Budget (Modern)
Anything I'm missing? The sideboard is definitely a work in progress, so any help there is especially appreciated.

Aug 10, 2017This is going to be very nasty, and 7 mana is probably the right number. I just think of the silliness with Paradox Engine. Then add in the likes of:Posted in: The Rumor Mill
Azami, Lady of Scrolls
and you have the makings of a VERY tap-happy shenanigans deck.
Jul 26, 2017Here is my progression for LOD (Legion of Doom):Posted in: Storyline Speculation
1. Gatewatch spreads news of LOD, putting Planeswalkers on high alert
2. LOD uses eternals to draw out Planeswalkers by attacking home planes
3. LOD captures as many Planeswalkers as they need
4. LOD uses Ral's new machine (spark engine?) on Dominaria to reverse the Mending changes by draining sparks
I think it matches up with Bolas' goals and sets up the kind of Avengers-style confrontation that creative seems to like.
Jul 25, 2017Here you go:Posted in: Commander (EDH)
Chromatic Lantern - a must in most multi-colored decks for me
Staff of Nin - personal Howling Mine + pinging? seems good
Leonin Sun Standard - in any deck that has white + creatures, this is a sweet finisher
Mimic Vat - just absurd in wrath.format - I still see decks with tons of sac + reanimation that don't run this, which is crazy
Proteus Staff - before the tuck rule, this was a monster. A bit less busted now, but still very versatile (and bonkers in my steal everything deck)
Honorable mention: Medallions (Emerald Medallion et al) - I don't build mono without them
Ixidron - so brutal in the right circumstances
Magus of the Library - 6-7 cards later..
Descendant of Soramaro - vastly underrated card, especially given how many cards I typically have in my hand in my blue decks
Reassembling Skeleton - mythic uncommon in most cases I've played it
Soul Sculptor - weird effect continually catches people off guard
Telepathy - insanely underplayed card, the information advantage is absurd
Abundance - smooths out your draws beautifully
Polluted Bonds - more fun than impactful, but pretty good in a typical 4-player game
Hall of Gemstone - making the majority of opponents downshift a gear or two is pretty sweet, without the stigma of land destruction
Reconnaissance - has to go down as one of the silliest effects possible in any deck interested in lots of attacking, all for one mana
Bonus for my favorite card type - Dismiss Into Dream - changes the game drastically + makes Cauldron of Souls into a monster
Faith's Reward - nice wrath, man
Sudden Spoiling - like an 'oh-*****' handle for Magic
Withering Boon - no one ever sees this one coming
Word of Seizing - planeswalker about to ultimate is my favorite, but plenty of good targets
Lim-Dul's Vault - premium card selection
Thawing Glaciers - don't miss those land drops
Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx - fine with nothing, or busted if loaded
Mirrodin's Core - budget multicolor star
Winding Canyons - adds a dimension for decks that wouldn't usually have access
Rogue's Passage - there are decks where this is just silly
None, really. They just tend to draw so much hate, it typically isn't worth it.
Mystic Speculation - casting this 5-10 times a game is not unusual
Primal Surge - I Win!
Rise of the Dark Realms - ditto!
Meltdown - can cause some VERY hurt butts
Recurring Insight - premium draw tech
Jul 3, 2017TheDrB posted a message on Your reasoning behind playing one of your favorite decks.I have a few basic principles I follow:Posted in: Modern
1. I am SUPER cheap. Only get to play online, and 5-6 tix is about what I'm willing to commit to a deck.
2. I'll only play decks I came up with myself (not saying they're unique works of art, just that I don't look at what other people do with similar decks)
To that end I have a mono-color modern deck for each color.
Red - Rareless Aggro-Combo (using the first real synergy I learned in the game with Chandra's Spitfire and Raid Bombardment)
Black - Control w/my one of my favorites (Haunting Echoes)
The other three have an additional principle that I didn't realize I was following until they were built:
3. I like to keep my stuff alive
To me, they fall somewhere between Aggro and Midrange, if such a thing exists, mainly because I include multiple cards in each to protect my things.
White - Ally tribal
Blue - Human tribal w/evasion
Green - Big snarling monsters
They all tend to run around 50%, which is a fine wins/ticket ratio.
Apr 30, 2017I like the concept. I agree with most posters that the big issues would seem to be getting enough damage through and keeping your board in place.Posted in: Multiplayer
Fortify - actually can provide a nice defensive boost if needed in a pinch
Brave the Elements (or Akroma's Blessing if you want the myr too) - super nice for alpha strikes, and also can be defensive
Leonin Sun Standard - early, this makes combat much more difficult for your opponents, and mid to late it threatens overruns every turn
Rootborn Defenses - premium anti-wrath in a tokens deck
Selfless Spirit - ditto, plus this is a creature. minus that your opponents can see it and play around it
Mar 17, 2017So, I made this deck to be a throwback to when I first started playing (ROE). Back then, I just kept making deck after deck as I figured this stuff out, and the original version of this was probably the best.Posted in: Budget (Modern)
And shock of shocks, it is actually doing really well in the casual MTGO room. Probably around 50-60% win rate, which I am thrilled with.

Mar 8, 2017Had a game the other day that really emphasized the importance of card advantage.Posted in: Commander (EDH)
With my Jeskai (Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker / Kraum, Ludevic's Opus) tribal 'Flyers' budget deck playing in a 4-player game. Other player is also all flyers, but Esper instead.
We're doing a lot of the same things in this game, but it definitely hampers attacks against each other. However, he doesn't seem to have focused as much on draw tech, so Kraum and an early Sturmgeist are definitely drawing me ahead. Both other players are eliminated, we live through each other's Cyclonic Rift, but my very deep hand (20+ cards) and red gems like Dragon Tempest are helping me recover faster.
He is able to pull together some stiff defenses, but does tap out to get them all out in play. One Master Warcraft later, and it is all over..
Not sure why I don't see that card more...
Mar 8, 2017I don't think I have ever minused him at all. I've really only played him in my most political-oriented deck, so that is a limited subset. In the typical multiplayer EDH games I play, being a target is the worst thing possible. Often, someone will go out of their way to kill him and the other players in the game focus on the guy who "took their free cards away".. lolPosted in: Commander (EDH)
