Epiphany for me was always just a win more card. It sat around in my hand forever because TFK was more relevant and by the time I was going to cast it I had usually already lost or won. Don't get me wrong, it certainly shined more than once but aside from those games I felt it was more useful to have the interaction/versatility found in Supreme Will
I think a lot of people were on that same train of thought as well
Just for the record, I wasn't advocating TKS in the mainboard but rather running 2-3 in the sideboard. Everyone tries to bring in artifact hate against us, so TKS throws them a curveball and dodges their board cards while adding a big body and disruption.
Also, you're blasting the card for being to slow (turn 4) against burn, while saying chalice is a better answer because it's faster. That's fine... except that you'd be dropping chalice on turn 4 as well. G2 against burn you want your chalices on 2 not 1 or it'll just get hit with revelry.
Just curious why you think TKS is bad against burn ? That's one of the matchups I was thinking about when I decided to add TKS to my board. They bring in artifact hate, while I remove artifacts for a large body that also has hand disruption. If I have to block and they use burn on it well, that's okay. I just removed their most dangerous card in hand while also saving a burn spell from my life total.
That's definitely a cool, interesting card and it has the right power level for trading with things. It also does a great job of pitching itself to thirst for knowledge. That being said, I can't really imagine what I would cut to fit it into the deck. Solemn is the first card that comes to find but that already plays a much more valuable role in tutoring up blue sources.
Oh I don't know... possibly because it's barely a real word that is literally never used in discourse or written work. Furthermore, it can technically be spelled either way. I can't believe you would post in the OFFICIAL bogles thread, and, might I add, use way to many comas, and, not even know, that.
I didn't say it was going to be the new standard for boggles, just something to catch people off guard. You drop a turn of speed for interaction basically.
I'm not sure it's necessarily one or the other, but Spirit Mantle guarantees you're going to push damage through when facing creatures which is definitely relevant. It also allows you to have a really strong blocker if need be.
I'm looking to come out of left field at a Sunday event soon with UW boggles. Curious Obsession is totally insane and I'm surprised more people aren't buzzing over it.
What are the preferred printings and art for the Urza lands?
I'm interested in getting the chronicles printing - however - should I get all the same art for each playset or should I get different art?
Also I've heard that getting the Urzas Mine that looks like a Tower can be a good 'strategic' choice.
I just got Chronicles because that was what my buddy had in his trade binder years ago. I don't think it really makes a strategic difference, unless you're playing someone REALLY bad, but I would actually like to get black border foils if they are ever reprinted.
They do exist, you can get eighth or ninth edition foils and they have black borders. They're dumb expensive though.
Personally, I have a full set of Chronicles full art alters, and another set of foreign black border. Tron is basically all I play so I'm slowly pimping everything out.
I think the thread is on the slower side because there really isn't that much to discuss about the deck lol. It's all in aggro with only minor variations in lists

@hinterwilter, how is hangarback walker? Seems like a not quite as powerful ballista, although I understand they fulfill slightly different roles.
