Id just dream crush him every time he came in. My 2 lgs has a whole corner at both stores full of players who refuse to play with me because i wont just allow them to do whatever they like in the game. It is what it is.

Have we ever had one of these here? Is it allowed? I think it would be an excellent tool to be able to discuss how your nights went/how your decks fared against the competition/what to expect~what you werent expecting etc.....

If you are all playing comparable decks and you are boasting that kind of win% then you must be a MUCH better player. Wouldn't it be more fun for you and them if you handicapped yourself via deckbuilding (i.e. intentionally build lesser decks) in that situation? I know that's what I've done in a similar situation and it worked really well for me. Crushing people over and over again isn't fun for me or them, I want a challenge when I play and they want to feel like they have a chance to win.

i did make a deck just like this and i bought a precon for this purpose as well. i didnt get to go last weekend due to work so i cant say how things would have went but the kid i normally take said they were complaining his oloro deck isnt interactive enough (and he doesnt know every card so he tends to ask lots of questions, i mean A LOT) but thats what i thought FNM was. helping and talking and explaining things you havent seen from other players before. guess not. they rode him pretty hard. so..... i have a friend coming with me this friday with my animar deck, my gf will be playing her narset, and im going to play derevi and we will see how uninteractive their decks are. childish stuff really from both sides..... but im going to pretend we are playing the part of the heroes of the story.

Just any artifact/enchantment removal stops all of that, what do you mean about "can't get out"? You can break stax elements, you can race stax, you can gather resourses to push through lock at one turn. If you always scoop after cage/humility/moat/capsize(?!)/counterspell - youre just poor deck builder and/or player.
Ounly disadvantage of stax decks IMO is that they usually very slow in terms of actually killing which makes games too long, but it's not the case of complayning in OP's group. They just don't want to play around threats and answers. Playing in "lets see who will combo out faster in vacuum" is a quiet no-brainer playing.
Some players just don't enjoy stax, and it's not fair of one layer to push it on a group of people if that's really the part of their decks that the group is against. Stax/prison being answerable doesn't make people who dislike it enjoy playing against the strategy any more.

Which circles back around to a question for the OP, have you actually sat down with your group and asked them what they don't like about your decks? That would be the first place to start with your problem, because we're not the people who have to play against you on a regular basis, our advice is going to be somewhat limited.

i dont really consider my decks to be "stax" or "prison". moat is just one piece. magus of the moat is the exact same thing on a creature.

i have sat down with them. it goes like this. they complain of being blown out by rift... yet almost every deck plays it. even theirs. they complained about prophet... yet they played it. they complain when i play consecrated.. yet if someone else or they play it, a simple that needs to be killed is the reaction. no harsh reaction or omg you played that reaction like towards when i played it.

i didnt talk with them all week just did a little testing at work to find problems in my deck myself that they consider on their end to be OP.

tonight when i got there i simply sat down with them after asking one of the store workers to come hang around(we have known each other for awhile and his opinion matters to me as he would tell me if i was being a jerk). the one in particular started whining before i even pulled anything out. i didnt respond. i pulled out the junk deck and started playing against 2 maelstrom wanderer decks, 1 oloro, and 1 thassa. lo and behold 1 wanderer went infinite with food chain. i did nothing the whole game just sat back and made small talk. i packed it up said oh we allow infinites without complaining now? because you know, not 1 person complained about it. i pulled out derevi and the whining and comments started. 2 people got up and "went to get food". right. so i proceeded to linvala/living plane lock the table. they started asking why i would play something like that so the worker asked them why they let food chain stick around to go infinite without complaining but this lock with an enchantment is too much. no answers. when he walked away they asked if id put that away they didnt like it. i said sure and got out edric. about 20 turns into the game (could have been sooner) i stasis/natures will the board. the 2 that really complained packed it in after they killed stasis and i eternal witness it back. so 2 more combo decks came to play (the others were talking to them about coming over) and i pulled out narset seeing as how i knew what was going on. so it was basically me vs. prossh food chain, 1 maelstrom (the other refused to play against narset), 1 sidisi, 1 oloro, 1 meren, & 1 thraximundar. a few extra turns later and an armageddon later the game was over. "why you play that" "i dont like playing against that deck its stupid" comments later. i just put everything away again and said "look guys, you arent against combos.. pointing at everyone at the table and the decks they called in to help... so stop complaining. i dont even pull the dream halls out till you complain and i pointed out how many times ive actually played it in all the games we have played. 3 or 4. and like i said you called people in to the table to help you guys when i was being more than fair about it." no responses. i still got to play oloro against 4 other people with no complaints. dream halls/enter the infinite were dead draws for me because no one was complaining now and i had no reason to play it. the game took so long they were tired of it so i finally dropped it so we could end it.

now we got 1 more 6 player in where i played kami vs. animar, teferi, oloro, roon, & selvala. (not a tag team against me) i told animar i was going to help him win as he never complains about anything and he was on the verge of it after knocking out selvala and teferi till i rifted and played back to basics when both he and roon had 10+ non basics already tapped. i had 0 way of winning though really but they scooped anyways. that was fun.

as i was leaving it didnt seem like there were any hard feelings as that wasnt my intent. i hope me sitting down and actually pointing out the hypocrisy has changed everything just a little.

and i DID buy the R/W commander deck to play with next week as that was a suggestion here. i just wanna look at it to get a feel for it. i also have another friends teysa, envoy of ghosts deck im getting tomorrow to play with too. its just kill spells so maybe it'll be within the power range but once i see comboes coming ill have to switch to my decks. thank you all for taking the time to help me out here as best you all could.

[quote]I feel your opinion OP (not trying to be insulting) is that of a competitive player who always wants to win, play the best cards, etc.

But low-power vs high-power and only the high-power players have a chance of winning.

i can attest that this is not true(against some lists it is), but for the most part a little disruption at the right time sets high power decks back enough to win with low power decks. i think it has more to do with the pilot of (insert deck) as much if not more so than the deck itself.

If you aren't drawing lots of cards, the handsize unlimiters are pointless. I like multiple attack steps, though. Maybe a one-shot, like Seize the Day is a better plan?

Should your metagame have lots more nonbasic lands than your deck, Price of Progress loves your damage doublers. That said, Sunhome, Fortress of the Legion and Slayers' Stronghold are great nonbasic lands that I am surprised to not see in your combat-oriented deck.

    Cheers!

sunhome and stronghold were in the deck until recently. triple white/red mana was intensive so i had to make concessions..... i will look into seize the day. i also thought about waves of aggression.
