That was meant to be the reminder text for the martyr keyword. Sorry for the confusion. Basically, if a creature you control is about to die from lethal damage, you can sac the martyr creature to save it.
...So you'd tolerate 3 mana for potentially 6 damage, in two affordable chunks? If so, I'd vote for you.
Not saying I wasn't kinda cautious on my costing. Most judges hereabouts seem twitchy around aggressive R/ entries, esp where they're clearly better than modern WotC trash.
But I would still seriously pay $20 for 4 x your alternative version and never regret it. It would either be the best new burn spell we'd see in years or the dawn of a new firey era for the game.

I took the challenge to mean something like homophones explanation, something like "Knight Reign" and "Night Rain". So I would either 1)pick an existing card and make another that sounds exactly the same, but uses different words, or 2)come up with two such cards of your own.

Well, you used flashback (not a requirement), and I don't find this particularly humorous. Almost a reusable Gruesome Encore, in red to boot. [C+]

This is interesting. A very wry sort of humor here, with the different zone cycling potential. I like the "waltzing" idea, since it takes two. Graveburst is an interesting idea, although I doubt it would be something that would get an ability word, simply because it takes up space on a card that likely has tons of text anyway. A very Johnny card. [A-]
Man, folks really latched on to the "flashback" part of flashback humor. Oh well, I like this one, but I think it's overcosted. 5 mana for 4 damage just rubs me wrong I'd drop it to R and 1R for the flashback. [B]
I suppose the 2nd render was your "humor" heh. Nothing wrong with this card, a bit blah for my tastes. Maybe my challenge just wasn't clear enough. I thought folks would get the reference, especially with the link that void_nothing posted. Oh well. [C+]
Now this is what I'm talking about! The set up was long long ago, yet the payoff is OH SO SWEET. Humor abounds! Love it! Wacky card, but if you're using it, you'd likely have a plan to live through the damage (I'd hope). Great referential flavor text. [A+]
This is amusing. I really like the conditional flashback cost, and playing it at JUST the right moment would definitely cause me much amusement, but I tend to enjoy shenanigans like that. [B]
Oooh... naughty. Definitely belongs in UN-UN-land, but, hey, I like silver (or in this case some other color)-bordered cards. Definitely, griefer card of the year. This would lead to some twisted humor, I suppose. Points for originality. [B+]
