Would it be a bad idea to replace Daring Skyjek in Orzhov Humans with Pain Seer? You lose out on the evasion, which can be important, but I think the extra toughness and drawing you extra cards while still being a 2-drop could be better.
This is not true. MaRo has explicitly stated that any card that has the word "planeswalker" in its text will be a rare or higher. So it isn't his rule that he is saying, it's MaRo's rule.
I think what MaRo meant was that the text "Destroy Target Planeswalker" can only show up on rares or mythics.
However, I think there are probably two very simple explanations: It was either too good in limited, or they started making a cycle of these, and didn't get to the red one until it was established that the rest of the cycle needed to be rare, so this had to be rare to fit the cycle.
I really don't think Mutavault is a good idea in three color decks. Especially this one, with all of the colored mana requirements. They should probably be basic lands.
To stay on topic: I don't like scry being the returning mechanic. To me, scry is down there with Cycling and Echo as far as least flavorful mechanics goes. I'd much rathre the returning mechanic be battle cry or convoke.
Chandra's easily the best of the bunch. Archangel, Hydra, and Scourge do nothing when they come into play, Bounty, Garruk, Invocation, Rise, Ring and Sphinx either don't do enough for their cost or cost infinite mana, and the Demon just doesn't have a deck he can fit into easily. Chandra slots into several decks nicely, and can even create her own archetypes.
I just realized something about Predatory Sliver and Megantic Sliver. Predatory is common, whilst Megantic is rare. Predatory gives +1/+1, and Megantic gives +3/+3. Since Wizards loves completing patterns, does this indicate that we'll get a 2/2 sliver for 3G that gives +2/+2 to all slivers at uncommon?
There's also the "I paid too much for this" effect. Mutavault will never be cheap as it would be if it were a new card, because people who paid premium price for it for Modern but don't want now/anymore won't sell, they'll just hold the card, since it will definitely rise again long-term (it's going to be a Modern staple forever unless banned).
I predict the floor for this card to be $15, if not more. $20 is more accurate, actually. Keep in mind that we have way more players now than when Morningtide was released, so the demand is also higher (and the print runs have been increased but not in the same level).
I mostly agree with you. I don't think it's crazy to expect it to go down to $15, but I also won't be surprised if it maintains a $20 price tag.

The price of MutaVault with it being a rare in a Core Set will depend on the playability/popularity in Standard. If it's used nearly as much as Thragtusk, expect a ceiling of probably around $20. If it's not splashed everywhere similar to Thragtusk then expect of ceiling of probably around $15.
Considering that it's a colorless man-land that can activate for a single mana, I'd be shocked if a whole variety of decks didn't play it.
Nice. My friend was banking on it being printed at Mythic. Now to see if where Thoughtseize winds up...
If Thoughtseize is in M14, it can't be mythic, since we've already confirmed the existance of Liliana of the Dark Realm, Rise of the Dark Realm, and Shadowborn Demon as being black's three mythics for the set. So it'll end up being a rare, because I don't think WotC would want to bump it down to uncommon.
On topic: I'm not so sure Mutavaut will go down to $8-10. While it'll definitely be printed a lot, it's still an extremely powerful card, and I'm pretty sure it'll see a heavy amount of standard play, which will drive up its demand, and thus its price.
Also, Ooze is castable off BTS. in current Standard thats like "Emrakul is playable off SnT" I will be running it 1+1, plus 2+1 DRS, 0+2 Cremate. GG Reanimator!
Loading up your deck/sideboard with graveyard hate is the exact wrong way to combat Junk Reanimator. The deck generally sides out most of its graveyard spells to become a midrange deck. It also has no problems just hard-casting its big threats. What you should be tuning your sideboard for is the Angel.
We must be seeing different sets here, because I can see at least 30 cards that will immediately or very quickly see play in Standard in this set. That's an insane amount. Compare to Gatecrash's 17 cards that see play and RTR's 32. There's so much power packed into this set that it boggles my mind. This is probably the strongest set we've had in years.
I cant really wrap my head around this, how hard can it possibly be to just make the champions good? Why are some of them so obviously better than others or in a few cases straight up terrible? Is it not clear to R&D that every guild fanboy/girl want a decent champions representing!
Trying to get everyone to like everything will end up ensuring no one likes anything. It's much better design for R&D to make some Maze Runners for Standard, some for EDH, and some for even more casual environments. It allows them to ensure that card will please the people they were meant for. If you don't like a particular card, it wasn't meant for you.
Unless I missed something major.

To be fair, Thundermaw could hide behind Cavern of Souls if he needed to.
Scrying isn't card advantage. It's card selection.
