I'm back after my 2HG prerelease. Our record was 2-1. I and my friend got second place overall, our best result since we play 2HG together, so we're very happy!

Can't get the space to appear before hybrids...

You probably have to use mana tags and curly brackets for hybrid mana. For example:
    [b]Standard-issue Blade[/b] [mana]{R/W}[/mana]
    gives:
    Standard-issue Blade (R/W)
with the space between the name and mana cost, while this:
Equip white and red creature [mana]{R/W}[/mana]
    gives:
Equip white and red creature (R/W)
again with the space between the ability and its mana cost. Hope this helps. (Noparse tags are a wonderful thing. I hope they stay on Nexus.)

A little more than 4 hours to the design deadline. Seeing that right after I originally wrote this post, the site suddenly went in read-only mode for exactly 4 hours, and also because of the low number of entries, I've decided to delay both deadlines by one day. So, as of this moment, there are actually a little less than 24 hours before the design deadline. Hoping the site doesn't go in read-only mode out of nowhere again.

With only 16 entries for now, I expect 3 judges to be enough, and Mr. Rithaniel should be able to play. We'll see if anything changes in these 4 24 hours.

Your foil Alpha Volcanic Island is in the mail, and you should receive it no later than August 32nd.
Good that I do not play Legacy or Vintage and that I actually prefer non-foil cards then! (And I'm actually not joking about either of those.) Expecting it to arrive exactly on August 32nd! Smile
On a serious note, thanks for the congratulations, and thanks to you as host and all the other judges and players. I almost wonder if hosting the last MCC here and winning the penultimate one makes me enter in the history of this site... No, no need to answer, I'm just dreaming. Thanks anyway to everybody. Updating my resume now.

posted a message on July MCC - Judge signup thread
    Quote from Algernone25 »
I'm willing to judge again. When I get off work I'll write up how I use the rubric to grade cards and what deductions I usually apply in what amounts, since that seemed to be a source of confusion last month.
Thank you. I've also been toying with the idea to write such a note regarding myself for years, but I've never actually done it so far, and it seems pointless to me to do it right before the contests (and myself with them) migrating to Nexus. Anyway, one of the intents behind the current rubric (which I happen to be one of the creators of, by the way) was that no such things would have been needed because we thought that this rubric would have improved uniformity among judgments, which hasn't actually happened in the measure we were hoping for.
I say "one of the intents" because there were also other ones, like getting a full zero in the Main Challenge category being the only way a submission could ever get DQ'ed, but I don't want to bring up that recent discussion now (which I followed from behind the scenes willingly restraining myself from commenting, so I do know what you're talking about).
For clarity, I'll say it now as the host for this month: a card will only be DQ'ed this month if it gets a zero in the Main Challenge category, and that should only happen if it completely fails the Main Challenge (for example if the Main Challenge asks for a monowhite card and the player designs a monored one, I know this is a bad example but it's the first that came to my mind), and the rubric will be applied with all the original intents behind it, which, again, I know as one of its creators.
All of this is meant only as information, I'm not scolding you or anything like that. I'm always at discomfort in such things, because it's impossible to convey tone in writing. Please just read this as if I was talking in a friendly tone. I'm actually looking forward to work with you this month, and I'm sure you will do an excellent job. Putting you in as a judge right now.
    Quote from Mr. Rithaniel »
I actually was thinking. It's been a long time since I've judged an MCC (about 7 years, by my estimate) and, looking back through my old account's post history, it seems that all MCC threads where I judged have been deleted (also, reading those posts that I made, I've realized I was a stupid kid).

Should I judge the sample card as though I were a new judge?
As far as the letter of the law is concerned, if you've ever judged in the MCC, you're fine. It's true, however, that since 7 years ago the rubric has changed, as I was just mentioning answering to Algernone25, so if you want to judge the sample card to be sure you're at ease with the new (to you as a judge, as it's been implemented for years by now) rubric, you're free to try it. I'm not requiring it though. Just do it if you feel like and if you have the will and time. Should I just put you in as a regular judge instead of reserve? If so, we have four judges, and I'll close the judge signups.
As for your posts, are you sure they haven't just been moved to the new archive?

Nothing to report today either about the scores. All correct.

Votes: Flatline, Indighost (I have two degrees in chemistry and passed multiple biochemistry and microbiology exams. The flavor of that card is highly attractive to me, and I also like it enough mechanically to vote for it.)

I want to go out with a bang. Today is the...

    End of the War 3WUB
    Enchantment (M)
When End of the War enters the battlefield, destroy all other nonland permanents and up to one target land, then target player puts the top four cards of their library into their graveyard.
At the beginning of each end step, if there are an artifact card, a creature card, an enchantment card, an instant card, a land card, a planeswalker card, and a sorcery card in your graveyard, you win the game.
“The war is over. Now let’s salt the land.”
    —Commander Guranal

If it isn't clear, the intent is that you need to have seven different cards in your graveyard. For example, an artifact creature only counts as one of the seven cards, and you choose whether it counts as the artifact one or the creature one. Either way, you need to have another card of the other type. Based on the Herald cycle from Alara, the wording I used should do that.
Name changed (it was End of Hostilities) because I had forgotten that a card named End Hostilities already exists, remembering only because I rediscovered it on Gatherer while looking for cards with "end" in the name to make July MCC banners.
Anyway it goes, it has been a pleasure to be back in the DCC. Thanks to Flatline, if it weren't for him I wouldn't have come back at all very probably. It's also been a pleasure to "fight against" all of you this month, in quotation marks as it's not really a fight, but more like a friendly competition, despite the apparent oxymoron. Who knows what will happen tomorrow? (Nexus isn't up yet, will July be still hosted here? Will there be contests in July at all?)

@ Indighost: Ok, I have to report a score mistake again. Both BlackWaltz3 and DiscardUnearth are missing a point. They should be respectively at 13 (+3) and 3 (+3). You probably missed netn10's votes because they posted after you in yesterday's thread. In fact, you also missed netn10's sumbission in the card quotes from yesterday. Tables attached again.

    Votes: void_nothing, Indighost

    Resounding Strike 2W
    Instant (C)
Creatures you control gains first strike until end of turn.
Cycling 5RWB (5RWB, Discard this card: Draw a card.)
When you cycle Resounding Strike, creatures you control gain double strike until end of turn.

Almost again! You gave an extra point to Rudyard and one less point to netn10. All the rest is right. Tables attached. (I'm really sorry to be the one who keeps pointing out mistakes. I'm not happy to be that guy. Well, at least if I ever host this again either here or on Nexus, I already have a good vote-counting system to use.)

    Votes: Zemoo, Indighost

Honorable mention for netn10. I just voted for the more simple and elegant hybrid card between the two, but I also really like your one.

    Selesnya Influence 3GW
    Enchantment (R)
When Selesnya Influence enters the battlefield, create a 3/3 green Centaur creature token.
Landfall — Whenever a land enters the battlefield under you control, populate. (Create a token that’s a copy of a creature token you control.)
“The more territory we control, the more people will feel the heartwarming embrace of Mat’Selesnya.”

posted a message on [Daily Card Contest] DCC Discussion Thread
I have recalculated the scores looking at each day's thread and putting them together in an Excel table. These are the correct result:

    Flatline 51
    IcariiFA 35
    Subject16 33
    bravelion83 32
    Flintlock 30
    netn10 28
    Indighost 26
    void_nothing 21
    Zemoo 21
    chochky 18
    Rudyard 18
    Archimediesx 16
    Soramaro 13
    kwanyeegor 10
    MamaThana 9
    BlackWaltz3 8
    Valleybeyond 7
    Phyrexian Editor 4
    zdtsd 2

Here's the screenshot (T stands for "total"):

Votes up to June 16th included have been counted. Votes in netn10's second post on the 15th have NOT been counted (light red cells in the screenshot). Yellow cells are the winner of the day, who got the 2 bonus points (1 if tied).
I've also implemented a control system, making the sum of the votes each day. If a day thread has N posts (determined by checking the number of the last post), only N-1 give votes (one is the OP), and they give two votes each, so the total before adding the bonus points should be 2N-2. If we add the 2 bonus points (even in the event of a tie between two players they each get one point, so the total number of bonus points is still 2, and this month there has never been a day with three or more people tied yet), the expected total becomes 2N. If the day total (last row in the screenshot) was equal to 2N, I marked that cell as light green.
As further control, I have made the sum of the day totals (dark green cell) to check if it was equal to the sum of the points on the board (dark purple cell). After all, they should be equal because they are just two different methods to sum up the same votes. And in fact, the total is the same (382), so the numbers are correct.

All of this to say that I'm absolutely 100% sure of the scores I've posted here. IcariiFA's scores are close to the correct ones, but there are still a few mistakes. For example, I have one less point in IcariiFA's scores than I should, and there are more such small differences.

...his dog, he's just beautiful... I wish you all the best with him, and I'm certain he will give you all the love that my own dog has given me for seven years, and even more! My own dog was a cross between a German Shepherd and a Pincher. He came from a dog refuge (always do that if you're looking for a dog, no need to buy it, there are so many in refuges and they're looking for you, just as you're looking for them) and he died from cancer last September (2018, on the morning of Saturday 22nd, exactly seven days before my birthday...) at 8 (still so young) after seven years in my family, but he's still alive in my heart. I still love him, and wherever he might be now, I know that he still loves me too.
Honorable mention for chochky (I just love the card but it's missing rarity).

Apparently, I have a thing for modal cards this month... This is intended as a mirror to my card from yesterday (Coming to Life), in fact these two cards together as a fuse split card (originally called Coming//Going) was one of my early designs for MCC round 1 .

    Going Away WBB
    Sorcery (R)
    Choose one —
    • Exile target creature.
    • Exile target creature card from an opponent’s graveyard.
    • Target opponent reveals their hand. You choose a creature card from it. That player exiles that card.
Death can manifest itself in multiple different ways.

Edit: I had already planned it, but it's just so fitting for me to post this particular card today given the story I tell in the spoiler above...
