I want to know what Golgari charm does so bad! I'm hoping it's something insane since the rest are awesome, and they're waiting so long to reveal it. >_<
I came here to say pretty much everything everyone else has said. It's great of you to do something like this for your library and it's a great way to promote the game. I also like your thought process throughout the article. Way to go:).
The rock is viable. It's called Jund. Jund is a rock deck through and through, it just isn't called "the rock" because it still uses the name it took from standard.
Aggro Loam is also a rock deck in many regards.
What I was pretty much gonna say>_>

I run him at 360 right now, but he's not come up that much in our drafts yet. (We only draft with 4-5 people atm so it can be hard to judge if something is pulling it's weight, along with the fact that I've only had cube since March, and nobody seems to like black).
My group has a hard time getting more than 4 people to cube so we do 5 packs 9 cards. You still end up with 45 cards at the end, but you dont have the same cards going around 3-4 times.
I run these for now in my cube. I don't own all 10 shocks or fetches. (I don't see myself getting the other 4 ONS fetches anytime soon:/) more often than not they just act as extra duals as opposed to supporting 4-5c decks, which was my intention. Personally for my cube I want to push 2c decks as much as possible. With the occasional splash but that's my preference. If I were to acquire the ABU's and the rest of the Shocks/fetches i'd cut them for sure.
Edit: My cube is 360, has 30 color-fixing lands, and no signets. Again, personal philosophy.
I'm a realatively new cube owner and stories like this make me very paranoid about playing it. I only play with my close friends, but that's only 4-5 people at most, which isn't fair to anyone:/. I want to play with the whole thing but i'm afraid someone might jack a FoW or Bob or something:/. I'm genuinely sorry that this happened to you. People can be so disrespectful and...well lame:/
Now I'm sure i'm not the first one to bring this up, but how are they gonna ban Griselbran and let Consecrated sphinx stay?
Disclaimer!!: I have not actually played EDH in about 6 months, I'm,not saying I agree with the ban one way or another, and I am typing this from my phone so grammer mistakes etc.etc.
I'm just trying to figure out their thought process.
I have a fairly budget cube that imo is pretty sweet. As long as it has a good curve and some sweet cards it's a ton of fun. Also try to trade for cards you don't have and se if friends want to make donations. Over time it will get better and better. All in all it might be a little rough at first but it makes for a more than worthwhile experience.
Edit: Also everything /|\ he said. There's a lot more I want to say but am on my phone at work:/.
You can play with the numbers a bit, but I like the general idea of it.

Basically, disregard my opinion....
Edit: Barring the theory that the promos are indeed the shocklands.
Easier said than done unfortunately...
