That new Sarkhan Vol is saucy. Forget the 2nd ability. I adore the fact that I can play him and have my Broodmate Dragon and his token counterpart deal 8 to my opponent (14 if Garruk used his ultimate, just sayin) before having to swing.
Wizards of the Coasts is going to be a monopoly built around the Poor peoples, all of which have no money and are starving. For example, there are two Addicts at home, the funds of which is 7/7. All of the Addicts have a new expense called Tarmagoyf. Addicts with magic have a Dealer; whenever a addict with credit cards, the magic addict must max-out that many cards. The Addicts are very greedy but there are addicts that can create 0/1 pennies called FNM payment that can be collected to allow one magic addict to your local shop and will help you be able to make the monies. In addition, the addict has a new expense called Baneslayer Angel. You may spend eternity on magic with nothing going to improve their lives and relationships. This Limited world is much worse than the one in real-life.
LOL!! I'm in the emergency room (friend sick), and I think they want to admit me to the psych ward...
If you're worried about the value of your duals, sell them.
Fact.
If you truly look at the cards held as investments, then realize, like any investment, values do not only increase. They can decrease as well.
And, like any investment, profit/loss is not recognized until you close out the other end of the transaction. Until you sell the cards, you have no idea what you made or lost.
As stated before, it seems "feelers" are being placed to ready us for the end of the reprint policy and old cards coming back. The Priceless Treasures, Negator and Masticore in FTV: Relics, and even Ben's article on SCG.
I'm less concerned about the prices of certain old cards I own (I'm looking at you, Volcanic Islands), and more of the state of the game. Why the interest in possibly reprinting older cards now?
As a Jund player, I can see the versions of the deck that run Borderland Ranger dropping that card for Pilgrim's Eye> Trading 1 power is fine for the fact that we will be able to fetch the forest without having one in play. Plus the little beater survives Earthquake.
It's too bad only Jund can play Bloodbraid Elf too. That's what makes it really broken.
Really? Naya, Jund and 5c Cascade all run Bloodbraid Elf. And of the 3, the Cascade deck breaks the Elf in half seeing how it always hits a "Discard 2 card" spell.
I play Jund, but it's hardly broken. I play it since I had most of the cards from Drafting.
Or more to the point, what kind of cards are going to become mythic rares? We want the flavor of mythic rare to be something that feels very special and unique. Generally speaking we expect that to mean cards like Planeswalkers, most legends, and epic-feeling creatures and spells. They will not just be a list of each set's most powerful tournament-level cards.
They never say that mythics won't be tournament worthy, just that all mythics won't be. (Yeah, how you doin', Conflux?)
First Rare - Fickle Efreet
I got 2 more in my next 2 packs as well...sigh..the opening of garbage rares started from the beginning.
Me: I have a 7/7 Baneslayer Angel, NOW WHAT, PUNK?!
Might not be great for competitive, but I plan on having a lot of fun with the new clone.
A zero-cost creature with an attack power? That's just amazing. Never thought I'd see the day.
Thank god its uncommon. Can you imagine it common during draft?
Turn 1 - 7 1/1's. Go.
Turn 1, Savage Lands
Turn 2, Rootbound Crag, Putrid Leech
Turn 3, Forest Sprouting Thrinax
Make some block with the Thrinax, get 3 1/1 green saprolings.
TUrn 4, Forest, Hydra.
Unrealistic, but possible....

And in Jund's colors as well...

Add Maralen of the Mornsong and Mindlock Orb and the game gets really slow.
Tack on Hive Mind, then play One with Nothing and boom! Six card combo for a draw!

And the relevant quote from the article:
They never say that mythics won't be tournament worthy, just that all mythics won't be. (Yeah, how you doin', Conflux?)
3X+42=Y
Where X is your life total before combat damage, and Y is the new life total.
So slightly more than triple, assuming you make contact with the opponent, and Sovereign's Power is 7.
