    Quote from TomMcV

I still think Magic is a fantastic game, but I am staggered at how people are so ready to jump to the defence of a game implementation that was so obviously a corporate exercise, rather than one of game improvement.

After reading this forum you're actually 100% right. Planeswalkers are terrible for the game in terms of gameplay and also as a side effect financially by keeping so many people out of the game. They are too overpowered, dumb the game down, and are really unfun to play against and with.

However, don't expect much from people on these forums. They defend everything and anything Wizards of the Coast does. Seriously, Wizards could release a card called "Crap" in the next set with a picture of a dog turd on it and everyone on here would talk like it's broken and fun and amazing. So just realize that most good old-time players and players who love the game like myself agree with you and hate planeswalkers and wish they were taken out of the game, but too many 8 year old yu-gi-oh players on here love them and everything Wizards will ever do no matter how harmful it is to the game so we're fighting a losing battle

    *sigh* Another post, another infraction.

The general rule that has been tested by rocket scientists, geniuses, and college professors is you should mulligan any hand that does not contain
Jace, the Mind Sculptor in it.

  • posted a message on Your worst tournament mistakes
A few weeks ago at a PTQ, I was playing in the finals and had the win seemingly locked up but then in game 3 my opponent ripped Molten Tail Masticore to burn my face while I was at 8 (he had about 13 lands in play) so I pulled out a knife and slashed my opponent's throat and killed him so I was able to get the slot.

But now I'm in jail awaiting trial so I guess killing my nerd opponent wasn't worth it for the PT spot so that has to be my biggest tournament mistake.

Meanwhile, the jury has ruled this post guilty of a spam infraction. Hope it was worth it?

My girlfriend and I have a great relationship through Magic. Whether I'm playing online or in paper, she knows not to bother me during rounds. However in between rounds I leave some time for her to get to the head of what she's good at. Then the next round starts.

What you need to realize is that Jace and control are cooler than you. You can't beat it. Instead join it. Playing control makes you better at Magic than playing stupid creature decks.

Yep, you're all correct. Proliferate is as broken as free spells. Bunch of noobs.

    Stop with the trolling.

And here they come out of the woodwork...all the minions of little people who swear by WOTC and will defend any crap mechanic and any crap card and set WOTC puts out there. Well I will revise my opinion and answer the question that was asked by this thread.

This applies to only the proliferate cards that have been spoiled so far

What will Proliferate be used for?

    1. Really cool synergistic situations in draft decks

    and most importantly

    2. For anyone who plays constructed tournaments, cards which say profilerate on them: TOILET PAPER

Steady progress may also help put Pyromancers ascension as a strong deck in Extended.

Thank you for proving my point that pretty much anyone who is on this site is terrible at magic, which is why as you will all see in a few months...just like wither was for constructed...proliferate is terrible.

Now that is way overstepping boundaries dude. Did you even THINK about what you were typing? Seriously. So your saying that anyone who isnt a tourney player not only has no brain, but dont matter? thats pretty pathetic. it will be a sad day when playing magic is reserved solely for people who dont care about fun and can afford to blow hundreds of dollars so they can copy each others deck.

That's right, you people shouldn't matter. Because of casual players, land destruction barely exists, counterspells are underpowered, and we have a bunch of overpowered creatures with planeswalkers ruling the format and everyone dying on turn 5 except for decks that play our lord and savior Jace.

Legacy is so popular as a tournament format because everything is awesome and viable there. But because you casuals demand cards like Engulfing Wurm instead of a green creature that matters outside of being annoying to face in limited, magic will continue its downward spiral

Don't quite understand the hate. You tourney players realize that there's casual players, too? This isn't going into you 5 turn kill decks? awwww.

For the rest of us that play 3+ players and for fun, guys like these are fantastic (as long as there's one player on the board not playing token gen). Kill spells get burned quick or held for the uber evils, so usually a guy like this can harass for a couple turns at least, netting good life and buggering the bejesus out of friends. He also gets around infect, wither, first strike, double strike and deathtouch.. oh! and fricken spitemares, too. I think he's sweet.

Right, because there arent enough stupid casual cards for you 6 year olds? No, the reason we hate this card as tourney players is because it is an irrelevant card that can randomly let a bad player beat you in limited.

See Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief for the classic example.

This whole set is one big whole casual waste of time and 3 planeswalkers for the tourney players, the only players that should matter (and have a brain)

    Troll infraction.

Why can't all you stupid red players just burn and die in a huge fire already so we don't have to deal with you?

    The limited format exists.

Excellent point. This card is really stupid in limited too and when it hits the table especially in sealed it will let lesser players beat better players

ENOUGH with all the dumb unplayable timmy cards please. This set seems to have an infinite number of them. I didn't realize Magic was only for 5 year olds
