These would sell well at $60; it's $12 each per foil planeswalker. However, they would never do something like this in Walmart. Seriously, SDCC exclusives are the norm in most collectibles industries, and not something Hasbro is any stranger to. Accept the fact that these are deliberately rare and that they are intended as such. Also, unlike what the people in your community thought, these are not hard to get if you want to pay market price. I had no problem buying one. I know someone who bought over 20 of them. And they are still readily available. If you want to pay market price, you can easily get these. If you don't want to pay market price, then this product clearly isn't for you as SDCC exclusives (of all varieties, not just the magic promos) are rare just for the sake of being rare.

I just noticed the effect on Ruric Thar is symmetrical, so once you've played him you can't really cast any noncreature spells yourself either. The Gruul flavour is declicious -- a full-on creature brawl, no tricks.
The 2 cards you compared go in 2 different type of decks. I bet a deck that I build for the selesnya GM would hit that 4th land more often then a boros deck I built. It is just the nature.
Sure, there is creep, but it is not as noticable as some other TCG's.
If you compare the 2 selesnya GMs, they seem fair to me.

Maelstrom Wanderer dies once... recast from commander zone, does the cascade now reflect the 10 mana cost or still with the original 8?
