If you're not in a super fast competitive group/meta any if those should be fine. Another budget option I like is devastating dreams. You can tutor up your whole combo and put a ambition's cost or something similar on top and draw it.
Imagine if creeping corrosion was colorless and cost 1. Now do you see the issue?
No one in their right mind is going to play a graveyard based deck now.
That's a rather drastic statement.
Look, this card isn't going to be mained, because it hoses a very specific type of deck. And if it's sideboarded (which I assume it will be), graveyard-based decks will come prepared. Why hasn't Legacy Reanimator bitten the dust yet? Because they sideboard cards to counter the obvious offenders: Tormod's Crypt, Relic of Progenitus, etc etc. Even in standard there are plenty of answers, the most obvious being Mental Misstep, as it can be splashed anywhere.
Also, comparing a 1 colorless mana Creeping Corrosion to this card is ridiculous. Both are narrow, sure, but they do entirely different things.
Not necessarily, with Terramorphic Expanse, Evolving Wilds and the fetchlands, Expedition map is equally good for landfall.
1. Crack Bauble, play a Swamp.
2. Play fetch from hand (Onslaught, Zendicar, Panoramas, ect ect.)
3. Crack fetch, deal 9 damage as apposed to the 6 dealt from your scenario.
Again, I'm not saying that one is worse than the other, since Map can pull any land and Bauble only basics. But when it comes to dealing damage from Ob's effect, Bauble is logistically better.
What I had meant by that question, Blackjack, was that why run Pillowfort, when Stax has been battle-tested for years and has thus been refined enough to compete with vintage-level decks. I'm sure Pillowfort is "fun" (I mean, the name insinuates it), but Stax surely would be a more competitive route. With that in mind, why would one choose Pillowfort over Stax?
The Bauble is almost always better in my deck. Why? Because my general is Ob Nixilis. More often than not, I'd rather have a land drop than a land tutor, if not just to ramp up to Ob Nixilis and not deal 3 extra damage. It's a matter of taste, and the Map has served me well in the past, too. But when a deck is based on Landfall, it only makes sense that one would want more land drops.
First of all, don't think for a second that you MUST run Cabal Coffers. It is powerful, definitely, but not everywhere. It loses a lot of its power in 1v1, where games are much faster and big mana is simply not available (unless you're playing Azusa). It's obviously a meta call: but ever since I omitted Coffers, I've never looked back.
Don't think bigger with your discard package, think smaller. You're playing 1v1, not multiplayer. How'r you going to Mind Sludge or Myojin on turn 1, when the opponent has something crucial in their hand that will soon swing the game in their favor? For your discard package, think Legacy or Vintage. Thoughtseize, Duress, Inquisition of Kozilek, etcetc are all fantastic choices. And don't believe, for one instant, that Hymn to Tourach is a questionable card in 1v1 EDH. Anyone who thinks so is silly, 2 mana for 2 randomly discarded cards is phenomenal. I even run Stupor, despite it being a much worse version of Hymn, because discarding two cards for one is that important.
In your discard package, I suggest running Snuff Out, as long as your meta isn't black-heavy. Free kill spells are always good news. Speaking of free kill spells, Sickening Shoalis also an excellent choice, as long as you're willing to lose a card. And you're already running Dismember, good man.
Lose the Disentomb, unless there's a necessity for that creature to be in your hand. You might as well run Animate Dead, Reanimate, etc etc.
These are my suggestions as of now, take them as you will.
PS Dark Ritual is GOOD. Even as a one-of, it produces three black mana. Helps get your general out a turn or two ahead of the game. Please reconsider.
I see your reasoning behind Soul Spike, it is a heavy loss of CA, plus it hurts with Ad Nauseum. But Hatred, I implore you to reconsider. Are you running Boseiji? Hand disruption? It plays from the grave, being an instant, and is practically a second wincon.
I'm trying to build Toshi myself, and this is a great resource, thanks!
Extirpate seems kinda useless in Commander? It's graveyard hate, but the rest of it just doesn't work when there's only one copy of any card.
Also, why no Overwhelming Forces?
It only targets one player due to the errata. Also, 8 mana is a hefty price when he could just play Decree of Pain, Black Sun's Zenith, Damnation, etcetc. Even if it draws you cards, Decree of Pain is just outright better.
My two suggestions are Hatred and Soul Spike. A free 8 damage spell is pretty good, I hear.
Insidious Dreams?

Dat Maelstrom Pulse!
Bro, Skittles isn't combo. Aggro definitely, control maybe, but definitely not combo.

>mfw the average cmc of my competitive deck is 2.

You guys are too funny.
Good list and good idea!
