Ran the deck last night at thursday night magic. Went 4-1, taking first, winning against Naya, 2x american control, RB aggro. Losing to RDW. Things I learned are that rangers guile is absolutely amazing and needs to be a 4 of in the deck. Predator ooze out of the sideboard, and garruk, won me many many games. Honestly I was less than impressed with wild beastmaster. Also, the games usually came down to me sticking 1 or 2 threats and protecting them with pump and then riding those to victory, rather than an aggressive pump fulled start for the win. I think I will switch to a more mid-range version of the deck for next week.
Thank you! I'm addicted to brewing, so pauper was the natural place for me to gravitate to for that purpose. Shortly after I made Utopia Brawl, I made a deck in the same colors called Cantrippers; it has an almost singular focus of playing dude after dude after dude for turns on end, without stop.
At the moment, Green 12post and Red Affinity seem to be the most popular, followed by a plethora of combo decks (various storm brews, Birthing Pod, Elves, and more). Shamans made 1 appearance this time around. Merfolk showed up twice, both times as UW.
PM sent.
Really interesting infect list in daily 17, uses blazing shoals as a free +10/+0 when you pitch reaper king to it.
Playing U/R during an 8-4, im dead on board next turn thanks to his bloodthristed wurm(can't remember the name). I rip act of treason, steal his wurm, jump it with Chasm Drake, and then fling it at him for exactly lethal. Best feeling.
4 Arbor Elf
4 Champion of Lambholt
4 Mayor of Avabruck
4 Strangleroot Geist
4 Predator Ooze
4 Prey Upon
4 Rancor
2 Garruk Relentless
That has to be one of the most satisfying ways to win.
This deck is extremely silly, i love it.
mikey k did a testing session with this deck, looks really solid
