My opinion on this really varies.

I believe they could include JTMS into M12. But I also believe they shouldn't -- Its too powerful, they should just let it drop out of standard. A card thats in 6 out of 8 top decks is a card that is by all means broken, since it can apparently be used almost anywhere in a horribly powerful way.

However, they could make a run of it on a duel deck or something, with new art to boot, which should lower its value and allow people who want him to get him, without actually making everyone in standard have to deal with such card for another year or two.

And I own a JTMS I got last week on what was the last worldwake pack I thought of buying. I'm all for them reprinting him, just not in a standard set. Go ahead and put him in non-standard based runs, and I myself will probably end up buying one or two of those. It just wreaks havoc in casual in ways unseen, and can be quite fun to cast when playing with friends (I wouldn't run more than one of those in casual thou :P)

I bought an Eberron D&D Campaign setting when it came out in 3.5. It was only half a book with the first half repeated half way through. I emailed WotC and sent them a picture or two, and they said ship it to them, so I did. Not even a week later, they sent me a new copy (all there :P) and two Eberron Adventures! Good customer service there.

I don't know how it would work for M:tG, but hopefully its the same!

All stories I've heard of WotC support so far have been pretty good. There was this guy a few months back who won a foil sheet and it got damaged when HE (not WotC) had it shipped to his home from the tournament place. After getting pictures, the guys from Wizards offered to replace it, which is pretty cool. It wasn't as easy for him to get the replacement as I'm saying right now, but point is he did, even when WotC really didn't have to do it.

Sliver Queen is on the reserve list, if it wasn't Wizards would've been crazy to not put it in as it would likely fly off shelves with the Queen included.

Then again, as per the rules according to the reserve list that are valid until the end of this year, cards on the reserve list could be printed as foils. That's what allowed wizards to put a phyrexian negator on the Phyrexia Vs. The Coalition duel deck. So it's not really an excuse to avoid putting a sliver queen on the all-foil deck.

I found this deck to be pretty good to play with, and indeed powerful for casual Smile

However, I hated how the foils looked. They weren't nearly as bad as Garruk Vs. Liliana foils, but they still looked terribly unclear, and the paper they were printed on looked kitchen foil-y. Also, they're way thicker than regular cards.

I bought alot of stuff today, amounting to about 40 boosters among Zendikar, Worldwake, Eldrazi and Scars cards. Among the highlights are:

    - 9 foils total, more than the expected average for a box.
    - Foil Koth. Yes, this was the best of them all :p
    - Lotus Cobra.
    - Novablast Wurm.
    - Platinum Emperion.
    - Molten-Tail Masticore.
    - Foil Celestial Colonnade.

There were a couple more Mythics, but nothing too special or that I can remember at the moment :p I'm pretty happy overall ^^

I still think that's pretty one-sided, just because of one or two people he has to ruin his fun? At FNM every once in a while we will hold a vote to decide what to draft and normally everyone picks the most recent set while I usually want to draft something else, does that mean we have to draft what I want because I have a problem with drafting the most recent set?

People go to the LGS/Tournament to play Magic. You can choose to play or not depending on whether you like the format they play or not. People don't go there to listen to random music. When you put music using speakers, you're imposing to the people around you that they must listen to whatever it is you like. They can't choose to shut their ears, so the simple existence of random music around means they HAVE to hear it. These people don't go to the LGS/Tournament to listen to your music, yet you force them to. Therefore, yes, it is a jerk move.

Also the idea that you'd bring your own music because nobody can stand the music the owner likes, yet you'd expect everyone to like yours is horribly flawed. Chance is, most people was just as annoyed by your music as they were by the owner's. The owner, however, isn't considered a jerk, because its his store.

About the stealing/threatening, contact the police.

And you can get the same mythic twice in a small pool of cards. I opened a Worldwake fat pack about a month ago, and got 2 Omnath, Locus of Mana within the first 4 packs. Yes, its unlikely, but it is possible even in sealed stuff.

There's no reason why it'd be illegal. You went to the prerelease, you got the cards, they're yours. You decide what to do with them.

Some sort of balance in limited and more casual environment where buying singles isn't that common. Also, makes the whole trading card idea more viable, since with different rarities some cards are better traded for than just buying packs until you get them.

Oh, that, and many more sales for wizards in the long run :p

Registering trademarks you have no intention of ever using just to mislead people about your future actions is not permitted under US trademark law. I'm sure there's very little serious enforcement of this, but even so no company is going to do something technically illegal just to trick people looking for leaks -- and if they were, I'd think they'd pick names that were actually misleading, instead of names that actually gave away the big surprise of the block (the return of the Phyrexians) months before the marketing started.

It might be illegal, yet that didn't keep WB and Scholastic from registering at least 3 different book names as red herrings for the seventh harry potter book months in advance back in 2007. Really, its almost impossible to prove whether you actually had an intent to use a trademark or not, since something that's being planned could be said to have been thought to use the name, and its hard to prove that it was not.

    Quote from Picc
Expansion only due to rotating mechanics and more flavorful storylines. Honestly I dont find the core storyline such as it is all that interesting.

I was led to believe by the very MTGS wiki that core sets followed no storyline at all.

But all in all, it's not so much of a storyline, since you don't see lots of it when opening a fat pack, for example. But you do get an idea of how the situation in the land the set is set in is like, for example, everytime I get a card with landfall it makes me think the whole world its coming alive, thus lands are helping people. When I open from eldrazi and I get cards that invoke eldrazi spawns or eldrazi themselves, I feel its like a little race of several groups to see who gets to cast the biggest, meanest creature to join their cause. It's those feelings I love.

I got 4 M10 boosters last week (they came in the boxes of 4 planeswalker decks I got to collect, which were a steal at $4 each). I also got 4 ZEN, 4 WWK and a ROE Fat Pack. I enjoyed opening them all, and had a sense of wonder as I looked through the contents with the ZEN, WWK and ROE sets. With the M10, it was more like "I like that card" "I don't like that card" "That one's cool", but none seemed really interesting (And I got a Garruk, first planeswalker I get on a booster, so that should've excited me).

I didn't know tokens had a set rarity, thought it was just me being stupid wondering why some appeared so much and some so little :p

On a side note, I have 2 of the WWK dragon tokens, and I haven't even opened that much WWK (about 17 boosters or something). Beginner's luck perhaps?

    Discuss :p
I'm asking the question, because I've noticed I enjoy more collecting and getting stuff (Fat packs, singles, boosters and the occasional precon deck) related to expansion sets than core sets.
The reasoning behind it for me is, when opening sealed product (and please don't come and say buying sealed product is a waste, that's not the point here), expansion packs tend to have very defined themes that make the overall process of "exploring" whatever I get much more interesting, as if a story were being told through the cards (and in theory, a story IS being told through them).
With core sets, instead, I just feel I'm getting a random assortment of cards with little or no relation to each other, which makes the whole process less fun/interesting/immersive, since it feels rather dislodged.

I'd like to know what you guys think of this, if anything at all :p

Ah...another sound judgement from the MTGSalvation Legal department... This is sorry to say totally incorrect for a multitude of reasons first and foremost being the fact that they own the rights to said cards...not you therefore unlike stock and other such options your say doesn't mean squat as they make no money directly from that high dollar purchase you made, nor did you at that point invest your interest in the company in a legal sense.

The fact that they make no money directly wouldn't really keep anyone from suing the company for reneging on their pledge, which they publicly made, and misleading customers. Losses for wizards wouldn't be too high with getting sued, if any, since only a few would dare such a thing, but they'd most likely lose many of their collector fans, or the vintage player base. Add that to the fact that it'd be bad PR for wizards by announcing something as only available for some time and then never again... And making a new edition of it a few years late, and you'll know why the reserved list items are likely to never be reprinted again. Also, the negative from wizards to add ANY more cards to said list states they know they screwed up badly by creating it in first place, but must abide to their previous public statements.

Add to all this that the USA are pretty much the paradise for legal lawsuits and well, I'm totally sure several people would decide to sue wizards because their black lotus isn't worth $2k anymore.

On a separate note, I actually couldn't care less about the reserved list being done away with (It would actually help me find many older cards), since I refuse to spend so much money on a card as most proper collectors do, and I collect only because the collection looks pretty, not because it's worth loads. Also, I started playing recently, so the reserved list affects me little if at all.
However, on a more particular point, it is likely cards on the reserve list will end up banned from older formats, anyway. There's only so much time the P9 can stay playable (while being played), since everyday the amount of them in the market is lower and lower, and this will eventually happen to pretty much every card on the reserved list. So there'll come a point where said cards will either have to be reprint, or become nonexistent (Probably the later).
