  • posted a message on What's with the "erotic" sleeves/playmats/alters, people?
    Saw this exact post on Reddit earlier. I'm assuming you were the OP?
    And yes, seeing 400 pound nerds play with Asian erotic sleeves really is just odd. Sorry, but playing Magic, being overweight, not showering, and being socially awkward isn't going to get you any girl.

    Now I'm going to get infracted for something because I just accurately described most of the Magic community.

    As weird as it sounds, I run 3 Think Twice in the place of the 3 Mana Leak. I am considering cutting something else and also having the 3 Leak in the MB.

    That many lands in a row? I understand random but those are the only lands left in my deck. It somehow grouped all the rest of my lands together.

    ------ ISD ------

    Pack 1 pick 1:
    Into the Maw of Hell
    Nightbird's Clutches
    Ambush Viper
    Reckless Waif
    Abattoir Ghoul
    Vampire Interloper
    Urgent Exorcism
    Bramblecrush
    Spare from Evil
    --> Angel of Flight Alabaster
    Selhoff Occultist
    Naturalize
    Corpse Lunge
    Swamp
    Rebuke

    My 3rd time p1p1ing this in the past four drafts. It's quite good. Other notables are Into the Maw and Abattoir Ghoul, but I like white and dislike red and black, so let's take the white card.

    Pack 1 pick 2:
    Frightful Delusion
    Ghost Quarter
    Sensory Deprivation
    --> Villagers of Estwald
    Diregraf Ghoul
    Stromkirk Patrol
    Grimoire of the Dead
    Festerhide Boar
    Ashmouth Hound
    Abbey Griffin
    Infernal Plunge
    Island
    Gruesome Deformity
    Paraselene

    Weak pack. Could take the very, very awful Abbey Griffin, but why not take the card that is just much better? Plus, I love G/W in this format.
    Pack 1 pick 3:
    Woodland Sleuth (FOIL)
    --> Grizzled Outcasts
    Night Revelers
    Moment of Heroism
    Curiosity
    Spectral Flight
    Fortress Crab
    Caravan Vigil
    Rotting Fensnake
    Traveler's Amulet
    Rally the Peasants
    Full Moon's Rise
    Swamp

    Good on-color flip dude. I'll take it from this weak pack.
    Pack 1 pick 4:
    --> Into the Maw of Hell
    Stitcher's Apprentice
    Elder Cathar
    Markov Patrician
    Forbidden Alchemy
    Altar's Reap
    Lumberknot
    Traitorous Blood
    Mulch
    Wreath of Geists
    Mountain
    Typhoid Rats

    Here's where the action starts. My options here are taking the Cathar, the Into the Maw, or the Lumberknot. I'm pretty sure I'm not taking Lumberknot, so it's down to Cathar vs. Into the Maw. Elder Cathar is really good, but I think that Into the Maw is just better enough to hedge the bet.

    Pack 1 pick 5:
    Ghostly Possession
    Ghost Quarter
    Woodland Sleuth
    --> Blazing Torch
    Graveyard Shovel
    Silver-Inlaid Dagger
    Vampire Interloper
    Crossway Vampire
    Curse of Oblivion
    Swamp
    Gnaw to the Bone

    Another interesting pack, basically Dagger vs. Torch. I'll take the colorless shock.
    Pack 1 pick 6:
    Make a Wish
    Moonmist
    Vampire Interloper
    Altar's Reap
    Grave Bramble
    --> Ashmouth Hound (FOIL)
    Traitorous Blood
    Burning Vengeance
    Gruesome Deformity
    Mountain

    On a side note, black seems open. This is the second Interloper we've seen, back to back. However, I take the Ashmouth hound and try to move into some kind of G/R aggro deck, with which I went 2-1 in another 8-4 a few days before.

    Pack 1 pick 7:
    Ghostly Possession
    Graveyard Shovel
    --> Village Ironsmith
    Wooden Stake
    Crossway Vampire
    Curse of Oblivion
    Plains
    Memory's Journey
    Boneyard Wurm

    This pick I'm iffy on. Is Crossway Vampire the better card, even though it's RR? I think the pick here is the Vampire actually.
    Pack 1 pick 8:
    --> Orchard Spirit
    Mulch
    Naturalize
    Wreath of Geists
    Ghoulcaller's Bell
    Maw of the Mire
    Mountain
    Typhoid Rats

    Crap in other colors and a very good, playable evasion dude in our color.

    Pack 1 pick 9:
    Nightbird's Clutches
    --> Abattoir Ghoul
    Urgent Exorcism
    Bramblecrush
    Spare from Evil
    Naturalize
    Swamp

    This...wheeled? Out of that pack? Even after I passed ALL of those Interlopers, black was still open? It's this or the Clutches, but come on, this was so tempting!

    Pack 1 pick 10:
    --> Frightful Delusion
    Ghost Quarter
    Infernal Plunge
    Island
    Gruesome Deformity
    Paraselene

    Pack 1 pick 11:
    --> Woodland Sleuth (FOIL)
    Curiosity
    Spectral Flight
    Full Moon's Rise
    Swamp

    Bleh.

    Pack 1 pick 12:
    Altar's Reap
    Wreath of Geists
    Mountain
    --> Typhoid Rats

    We'll play this if we end up black.

    Pack 1 pick 13:
    Graveyard Shovel
    --> Curse of Oblivion
    Swamp

    Pack 1 pick 14:
    --> Gruesome Deformity
    Mountain

    Pack 1 pick 15:
    --> Plains

    ------ ISD ------

    Pack 2 pick 1:
    Ghoulraiser
    Silent Departure
    Prey Upon
    Sharpened Pitchfork
    Inquisitor's Flail
    Kessig Wolf Run
    Fortress Crab
    Abbey Griffin
    Feeling of Dread
    Rally the Peasants
    Avacyn's Pilgrim
    Dream Twist
    Plains
    --> Garruk Relentless
    Night Terrors

    What a pack. Obviously taking the 14 ticket rare in our color. Maybe wheeling the Prey Upon or Pilgrim if we're lucky.
    Pack 2 pick 2:
    Ghoulcaller's Chant
    --> Slayer of the Wicked
    Trepanation Blade
    Ulvenwald Mystics
    Elder Cathar
    Grave Bramble
    Thraben Purebloods
    Furor of the Bitten
    Orchard Spirit
    Ancient Grudge
    Battleground Geist
    Doomed Traveler
    Lost in the Mist
    Mountain
    Another really nice pack. In hindsight, I should have just taken the Ulvenwald Mystics here and not be completely split into 4 colors.
    Pack 2 pick 3:
    Spectral Rider
    --> Prey Upon
    Ludevic's Test Subject
    Mask of Avacyn
    Pitchburn Devils
    Village Bell-Ringer
    Kindercatch
    Think Twice
    Crossway Vampire
    Witchbane Orb
    Claustrophobia
    Lost in the Mist
    Mountain

    Third pick Claustrophobia, Test Subject, and Think Twice scares me. I really don't want to play against the blue deck round one. Taking the Prey Upon here, easy pick.

    Pack 2 pick 4:
    Ghoulraiser
    Woodland Sleuth
    Sensory Deprivation
    Demonmail Hauberk
    Mirror-Mad Phantasm
    --> Chapel Geist
    Curse of the Bloody Tome
    Silverchase Fox
    Somberwald Spider (FOIL)
    Disciple of Griselbrand
    Forest
    Bloodcrazed Neonate

    Phantasm is fine in the dedicated U/B mill deck, but not broken enough for me to go into a fifth color.

    Pack 2 pick 5:
    Nightbird's Clutches
    --> Ambush Viper
    Mask of Avacyn
    Bump in the Night
    Delver of Secrets (FOIL)
    Urgent Exorcism
    Traveler's Amulet
    Spidery Grasp
    Mountain
    Manor Skeleton
    Curse of the Pierced Heart

    Easy pick.

    Pack 2 pick 6:
    Ghoulcaller's Chant
    Nightbird's Clutches
    Trepanation Blade
    Civilized Scholar
    --> Elder Cathar
    Wooden Stake
    Feeling of Dread
    Doomed Traveler
    Lost in the Mist
    Plains

    Arguably better than Doomed Traveler. Also, why is there a sixth pick Civilized Scholar? Blue is wide open.
    Pack 2 pick 7:
    Tormented Pariah
    --> Hollowhenge Scavenger
    Spare from Evil
    Furor of the Bitten
    Caravan Vigil
    Brain Weevil
    Forest
    Night Terrors
    Paraselene

    Pack 2 pick 8:
    Riot Devils (FOIL)
    Moon Heron
    Spare from Evil
    Think Twice
    Desperate Ravings
    --> Avacyn's Pilgrim
    Forest
    Ranger's Guile

    Pack 2 pick 9:
    --> Prey Upon
    Inquisitor's Flail
    Fortress Crab
    Feeling of Dread
    Dream Twist
    Plains
    Night Terrors

    Hey, I predicted the wheel! Oddly enough, the Avacyn's Pilgrim didn't wheel though, so someone in green took it over the Prey Upon. Interesting.
    Pack 2 pick 10:
    Grave Bramble
    --> Thraben Purebloods
    Furor of the Bitten
    Ancient Grudge
    Lost in the Mist
    Mountain

    Pack 2 pick 11:
    --> Mask of Avacyn
    Kindercatch
    Witchbane Orb
    Lost in the Mist
    Mountain

    Pack 2 pick 12:
    --> Woodland Sleuth
    Curse of the Bloody Tome
    Forest
    Bloodcrazed Neonate

    Pack 2 pick 13:
    --> Bump in the Night
    Mountain
    Curse of the Pierced Heart

    Pack 2 pick 14:
    --> Wooden Stake
    Plains

    Pack 2 pick 15:
    --> Forest

    ------ ISD ------

    Pack 3 pick 1:
    Kessig Wolf
    Butcher's Cleaver
    Skeletal Grimace
    Unruly Mob
    Stitcher's Apprentice
    Blazing Torch
    Silver-Inlaid Dagger
    Scourge of Geier Reach
    Gatstaf Shepherd
    Silverchase Fox
    Lost in the Mist
    Walking Corpse
    Armored Skaab
    Plains
    --> Bloodgift Demon

    This is where I ruin my draft. Why would I take the Demon here when I could just take the Butcher's Cleaver or Shepard? I went to time on this pick, and regretted it immediately. Butcher is the pick.
    Pack 3 pick 2:
    Smite the Monstrous
    --> Ulvenwald Mystics
    Rage Thrower
    Moonmist
    Curse of the Nightly Hunt
    Unburial Rites
    Thraben Purebloods
    Selhoff Occultist
    Traveler's Amulet
    Walking Corpse
    Corpse Lunge
    Spidery Grasp
    Mountain
    Geistflame

    Mystics is a nice pick-up.

    Pack 3 pick 3:
    Feral Ridgewolf
    Moonmist
    Altar's Reap
    Kindercatch
    --> Gatstaf Shepherd
    Grave Bramble
    Traitorous Blood
    Hamlet Captain
    Battleground Geist
    Intangible Virtue
    Plains
    Gruesome Deformity
    One-Eyed Scarecrow

    Hey, I'll take a third-pick Gatstaf Shepard any day!
    Pack 3 pick 4:
    Kessig Wolf
    Skeletal Grimace
    Unruly Mob
    Blazing Torch
    Grizzled Outcasts
    Curse of the Nightly Hunt
    Hollowhenge Scavenger
    Scourge of Geier Reach
    --> Festerhide Boar
    Silverchase Fox
    Mulch
    Forest
    It's this or the Blazing Torch. I figure that I have enough removal with the Prey Upons and such.

    Pack 3 pick 5:
    Tormented Pariah
    Bump in the Night
    Nevermore
    Thraben Purebloods
    Furor of the Bitten
    --> Feeling of Dread
    Full Moon's Rise
    Forest
    Maw of the Mire
    Bitterheart Witch
    Curse of the Pierced Heart

    Pack 3 pick 6:
    --> Travel Preparations
    Prey Upon
    Inquisitor's Flail
    Pitchburn Devils
    Village Bell-Ringer
    Fortress Crab
    Orchard Spirit
    Ancient Grudge
    Rotting Fensnake
    Island

    Holy hell - sixth pick Travel Prep? Yes please! This was truly a gift. Also, this pack is ridiculous.
    Pack 3 pick 7:
    Ghostly Possession
    --> Spectral Rider
    Riot Devils
    Selfless Cathar
    Delver of Secrets
    Somberwald Spider
    Swamp
    Gnaw to the Bone
    Vampiric Fury

    This or spider - obviously Rider.

    Pack 3 pick 8:
    Frightful Delusion
    Skeletal Grimace
    --> Cobbled Wings
    Purify the Grave
    Grave Bramble
    Island
    Vampiric Fury
    Bloodcrazed Neonate
    I figured that I might actually play this and give my guys and edge. Won me two games.

    Pack 3 pick 9:
    Kessig Wolf
    Skeletal Grimace
    Unruly Mob
    Stitcher's Apprentice
    --> Silver-Inlaid Dagger
    Lost in the Mist
    Plains

    Nice wheel!
    Pack 3 pick 10:
    Moonmist
    Curse of the Nightly Hunt
    Thraben Purebloods
    Corpse Lunge
    --> Spidery Grasp
    Mountain

    Pack 3 pick 11:
    Moonmist
    --> Kindercatch
    Intangible Virtue
    Plains
    Gruesome Deformity

    Pack 3 pick 12:
    Skeletal Grimace
    --> Unruly Mob
    Curse of the Nightly Hunt
    Forest

    I'm liking getting all of these good commons so late!

    Pack 3 pick 13:
    --> Full Moon's Rise
    Forest
    Maw of the Mire

    Pack 3 pick 14:
    --> Ancient Grudge
    Island

    Pack 3 pick 15:
    --> Swamp

    The deck ended up like this:

    Playing 10 Forests and 7 Plains.

    Round 1: Played against some odd R/B aggro deck and won pretty easily.
    Round 2: Playing against a R/W deck that gets a quick start to my slow hand and eventually lose game 1 to him topdecking Brimstone Volley. I lose game 2 with him at TWO LIFE because he had a Bonds for my Hollowhedge Scavenger.

    I drew Garruk once and he only lasted a turn, killing off a spectral rider that had been Travel Prepped. I only played the Angel once too, and it won me that game after it had been prepped.

    All in all, a good draft with some minor errors that I see. I need to learn to not be so quick to jump out of my colors and focus on one to two.

    Or just kill the equipment.

    Even if you sideboard the naturalize (if you're in green) or the ancient grudge (if you're in red...), you're not guaranteed to draw it. And what about for the other colors? What are you supposed to do then, just sit there and get beaten down by a 4/1 with the dagger or a 4/1 lifelink with the cleaver? It's really just absurd.

    Every time this guy crashes on the opposing side of the table, I lose. They either equip it with Butcher's Cleaver, the Dagger, or an enchantment. I'm really not sure how you're ever supposed to kill it. It's just literally invincible, aside from Tribute to Hunger or Rolling Temblor, both of which are uncommons.

    I hate how there are the packs with like 3 bad to unplayable uncommons (lets say kite shield, reassembing skeleton, rusted sentinel), a plethora of horrible commons with no removal, efficient creature, or anything really playable. Then you get these packs where LITERALLY every single card is a playable, and 1/3 of the pack is bombs. I really do think this has to be the most stacked pack I've ever seen in a draft.

    Come on. Didn't you read my post? People don't say Incinerate is bad, you're constantly (intentionally?) misreading what people are saying. I strongly encourage you to improve your attitude.

    I honestly don't even think he's paying attention to the posts at all; he only wants to hear what HE thinks is correct.

    Fling is a fine sideboard card as Sene said, knocking off Mind Controls and other enchantments, but unless you have those subtle synergies, it's not a great maindeck. Lava Axe is pretty much always better in most decks, as the format is quite aggressive. Most decks actually want to play the 5 unblockable damage.

    You might want to learn to learn to read signals more effectively. Don't force colors from your first pick, either. If you see a signal (which obviously you wouldn't, since you can't read them) into your first pick, then go with it. If it dries up, then see what else you are being signaled into.

    Drafting a "deck" is usually better than drafting just a bunch of high quality cards. They are more synergistic and will probably be better in the long run. Sometimes you do lose to a deck because you got a bad draw or mana flood;that doesn't mean either deck is good or bad.

    It is part of human nature to only remember the negatives and ignore the times when you topdecked that fireball or mind control or whatever.

    Why would you maindeck flashfreezes? You said you lost to mill...and even then, maindecking flashfreeze is a horrible idea. I have maindecked negate before as a 23rd.

    Just keep trying. It seems like you need to learn to read signals better. This is a very fast format, so you want to draft a quick aggressive deck (most of the time) and you should be able to beat these slow controlling decks, as well as the fast ones.

  • posted a message on M12 Sealed was super disappointing.
    Quote from Valentine
    M12 sealed is stupid in general. There are so many bombs in at every rarity besides common, and not enough removal to deal with it all. I've never played a format where a Gideon and multiple guys on board wasn't enough to win. My opponent just went bomb, bomb, bomb and won in three turns. I'm so bitter. Especially since some people placed going 5-1 against easy opponents and I went 4-2 against 1st and 2nd... each had multiple titans or titans and planeswalkers... Ughh.

    In the first flight, I opened Gideon and had some good white, but nothing too great. I ended up going U/W fliers and went 2-2, losing to a fireball for 10 one match, losing to Flameblast Dragon, and then losing to a deck that had the Demonic Tutor demon, the Fact or Fiction Sphinx, Double Mind Control, and a Grave Titan. That has got to be the most ridiculous set of bombs in one deck ever. Gideon did actually nothing for me, really, just fogged for two turns really.

    In the second flight, my pool was absolutely abysmal. I opened Primeval, and TWO lands. Then I opened Scrambleverse, the blue Clone, and some crappy rare. I kid you not, I did not have more then 4 playables in each color, and I was forced to go U/G/w/r splashing double incinerate, O-ring, and Pasifism off a manalith, a Primeval, and a Rampant Growth; as well as my Glacial Fortress. I got all of my colors each game, and only had one double casting costed card, Primeval, so the mana worked out fine. But outside of my removal, I just didn't have any solid beaters. I ended up going 1-2 drop.

    So basically, in this format (and all sealed formats...) you need to open the ridiculous bombs that are Titans and the new throwback guys (FoF Sphinx, Demonic Tutor Demon etc.) to win. It honestly doesn't matter how much removal you have at that point, because you can pretty much stall into the bombs and just win.

    I was skeptical of this card in my early SOM block drafts, and took it VERY late (10th pick, and even then, I saw it going later than that). But I did two drafts yesterday, and it is just such a solid finisher that really gave my blue decks the "ummph" they needed. Equipping a Trespassing Souleater with this is pretty obscene, and puts them on a 4 turn clock if they weren't hit before. I think I might start picking it around 2-3 pick now in weak packs.

    I actually got one 8th yesterday and I was stunned...some really crazy stuff has been going on in NPH 4-3-2-2s. I got passed a Life's Finale, then an Enslave, then a Praetors Grasp.

    Okay, so it's not just me. I was in a tournament when I got an error message with "The game was cancelled by an administrator." Since then, I have been unable to get back on MTGO, and WOTC's site is down as well.

    Anyone know what's going on?

    I have no idea. This is really weird. Do you think we'll even get compensation if we lost the game we were currently playing?

    -Stan

    EDIT: It is now working again, although I was "dropped." That's waht it says in the tournament event.

    Hi everyone,

    I was playing in a sealed tournament just now, and the program closed. I tried to reopen it, but it said the above error message. I was able to skype with friends and browse the web, so it wasn't my internet connection. Wizards.com isn't working either. Did they get hacked or summat? Did this happen to any of you?

    Hopefully we all get compensation.

    Cheers,
    Stanupa.

    ------ MBS ------

    Pack 1 pick 1:
    Treasure Mage
    Turn the Tide
    Crush
    Plains
    Hexplate Golem
    Leonin Skyhunter
    --> Corrupted Conscience
    Banishment Decree
    Ardent Recruit
    Pistus Strike
    Into the Core (FOIL)
    Myr Sire
    Vivisection
    Pierce Strider
    Darksteel Plate

    This or Into the Core. I decided I like blue more and it's an overall better card.

    Pack 1 pick 2:
    Training Drone
    Swamp
    Kuldotha Ringleader
    Concussive Bolt
    Signal Pest
    Viridian Corrupter
    Quicksilver Geyser
    Tangle Hulk
    Tine Shrike
    --> Flesh-Eater Imp
    Scourge Servant
    Viridian Emissary
    Fuel for the Cause
    Mirran Mettle

    I REALLY don't want to be U/G, as I don't want to end up with no removal. I decided to take the Imp, arguably the second strongest card, barring Viridian Corrupter - which I'm not taking.

    Pack 1 pick 3:
    Glissa's Courier
    Ardent Recruit
    Quicksilver Geyser
    Piston Sledge
    Flensermite
    Virulent Wound
    Gnathosaur
    Brass Squire
    Steel Sabotage
    Forest
    --> Sangromancer
    Shriekhorn
    Dross Ripper

    Not that deep of a pack, seeing obvious black signals in the form of Sangromancer and Virulent Wound. Not really sure what type of black deck we'll be going into, but infect does seem open. I don't really want to abandon the p1p1, but I might have to.
    Pack 1 pick 4:
    Flayer Husk
    Accorder Paladin
    Tangle Mantis
    Swamp
    Phyresis
    Hexplate Golem
    Rot Wolf
    Phyrexian Digester
    --> Neurok Commando
    Gnathosaur
    Vivisection
    Koth's Courier

    This pick is horrid in retrospect, and I regretted this immediately after I picked it. Vivisection is arguably better CA than Neurok Commando - and even then, I'm sure Rot Wolf is the pretty clear pick. We've been seeing so many good infect signals, and we should be stepping into it.
    Pack 1 pick 5:
    Forest
    --> Fangren Marauder
    Rot Wolf
    Razorfield Rhino
    Unnatural Predation
    Loxodon Partisan
    Lead the Stampede
    Priests of Norn
    Bladed Sentinel
    Quicksilver Geyser
    Piston Sledge

    Immediately I'm punished by getting passed a FIFTH pick Marauder and Rot Wolf. It's definitely too late to go into infect, I think, so I take the Marauder - which I believe is the stronger card anyway. I guess the Geyser is okay, but meh.

    Pack 1 pick 6:
    Master's Call
    Gore Vassal
    Mirran Spy
    Frantic Salvage
    Mountain
    Unnatural Predation
    Rally the Forces
    --> Dross Ripper
    Horrifying Revelation
    Koth's Courier

    Again, good solid dork. We're seeing some white, but I really don't want to be B/W.
    Pack 1 pick 7:
    Ogre Resister
    Island
    Rally the Forces
    --> Phyrexian Rager
    Praetor's Counsel
    Frantic Salvage
    Vedalken Infuser
    Copper Carapace
    Banishment Decree

    Solid CA generator and blocker/trader.

    Pack 1 pick 8:
    Training Drone
    Tangle Mantis
    --> Decimator Web
    Hexplate Golem
    Tine Shrike
    Phyrexian Digester
    Forest
    Pistus Strike

    I always wanted to try this card, and hint hint, it won me two games.
    Pack 1 pick 9:
    Turn the Tide
    Plains
    Hexplate Golem
    Banishment Decree
    Ardent Recruit
    Pistus Strike
    --> Vivisection

    Wanted to wheel this. Still looking at an U/B Controllish deck atm.
    Pack 1 pick 10:
    Training Drone
    Swamp
    Tine Shrike
    --> Scourge Servant
    Fuel for the Cause
    Mirran Mettle

    Maybe we could be infect?

    Pack 1 pick 11:
    Glissa's Courier
    Ardent Recruit
    --> Flensermite
    Forest
    Shriekhorn

    Filler for infect, if we go that route.
    Pack 1 pick 12:
    Swamp
    Phyresis
    Phyrexian Digester
    --> Gnathosaur
    Why in hell did I not take the digester? It would have seen play...

    Pack 1 pick 13:
    Forest
    --> Unnatural Predation
    Priests of Norn

    Pack 1 pick 14:
    --> Frantic Salvage
    Mountain

    Pack 1 pick 15:
    --> Island

    ------ SOM ------

    Pack 2 pick 1:
    Kemba's Skyguard
    Withstand Death
    Screeching Silcaw
    Razorfield Thresher
    Riddlesmith
    Bonds of Quicksilver
    Swamp
    Blade-Tribe Berserkers
    Iron Myr
    Instill Infection
    --> Arc Trail
    Nim Deathmantle
    Exsanguinate
    Gold Myr
    Golden Urn

    Arc Trail is good, and pretty much the best card in the pack. Nothing else really stands out.

    Pack 2 pick 2:
    Wing Puncture
    Island
    Abuna Acolyte
    Darksteel Axe
    Ezuri's Archers
    Cystbearer
    Horizon Spellbomb
    --> Silver Myr
    Assault Strobe
    Relic Putrescence
    Dispense Justice
    Ferrovore
    Vector Asp
    Lumengrid Drake

    Weak pack, and the whole green infect ship has sailed. Taking the on-color (for now) Myr, hoping to get more of a signal in the next picks.

    Pack 2 pick 3:
    Embersmith
    Auriok Replica
    Plains
    --> Plague Stinger
    Copperhorn Scout
    Blackcleave Goblin
    Vulshok Replica
    Blight Mamba
    Lifesmith
    Disperse
    Necrogen Censer
    Panic Spellbomb
    Melt Terrain

    We still seem to be getting a steady stream of infect, even though we passed a ton of it pack 1.

    Pack 2 pick 4:
    Abuna Acolyte
    Vault Skyward
    Island
    Strider Harness
    Molten Psyche
    Copperhorn Scout
    --> Revoke Existence
    Glimmerpost
    Scrapdiver Serpent
    Vector Asp
    Nihil Spellbomb
    Kuldotha Rebirth

    Hate drafted - really nothing else at all in the pack...I guess I could take the serpent or vector asp?

    Pack 2 pick 5:
    Neurok Invisimancer
    Moriok Replica
    Accorder's Shield
    Golden Urn
    Infiltration Lens
    Blistergrub
    Untamed Might
    Bleak Coven Vampires
    --> Corpse Cur
    Turn Aside
    Swamp

    Good signal, and I'm happy to get this fifth pick.

    Pack 2 pick 6:
    Island
    Wing Puncture
    Neurok Invisimancer
    Trigon of Mending
    Goblin Gaveleer
    Stoic Rebuttal
    Viridian Revel
    Relic Putrescence
    --> Vector Asp
    Ogre Geargrabber

    These packs are really weak. Taking the infect card that might see play.

    Pack 2 pick 7:
    Scrapdiver Serpent
    Myr Galvanizer
    Auriok Edgewright
    --> Sylvok Replica
    Mountain
    Painsmith
    Moriok Reaver
    Vulshok Heartstoker
    Flameborn Hellion

    Why I took this over Painsmith, I have no idea. I obviously wasn't playing green, and I'm already splashing for red.

    Pack 2 pick 8:
    Plains
    --> Alpha Tyrranax
    Necrogen Censer
    Vulshok Heartstoker
    Loxodon Wayfarer
    Melt Terrain
    Liquimetal Coating
    Copperhorn Scout

    Pack 2 pick 9:
    Withstand Death
    Razorfield Thresher
    --> Bonds of Quicksilver
    Swamp
    Blade-Tribe Berserkers
    Exsanguinate
    Golden Urn

    Not to shabby removal.

    Pack 2 pick 10:
    Wing Puncture
    Island
    --> Ezuri's Archers
    Assault Strobe
    Relic Putrescence
    Ferrovore

    Pack 2 pick 11:
    Plains
    Copperhorn Scout
    --> Lifesmith
    Necrogen Censer
    Melt Terrain

    Pack 2 pick 12:
    Vault Skyward
    Island
    Molten Psyche
    --> Copperhorn Scout

    Pack 2 pick 13:
    Golden Urn
    --> Blistergrub
    Swamp

    Pack 2 pick 14:
    Island
    --> Relic Putrescence

    Pack 2 pick 15:
    --> Mountain

    ------ SOM ------

    Pack 3 pick 1:
    Sylvok Lifestaff
    Perilous Myr
    Painsmith
    Goblin Gaveleer
    Razorfield Thresher (FOIL)
    Stoic Rebuttal
    --> Skinrender
    Flight Spellbomb
    Blunt the Assault
    Slice in Twain
    Relic Putrescence
    Snapsail Glider
    Grindclock
    Swamp
    Bleak Coven Vampires

    Nice. I'm really happy about this - this is pretty much exactly what I needed.

    Pack 3 pick 2:
    Myrsmith (FOIL)
    Auriok Replica
    Asceticism
    --> Plague Stinger
    Heavy Arbalest
    Memnite
    Ezuri's Archers
    Relic Putrescence
    Blight Mamba
    Horizon Spellbomb
    Vector Asp
    Vulshok Replica
    Forest
    Throne of Geth

    Woot woot. I would have also liked the Arbalest, but obvious pick is obvious.

    Pack 3 pick 3:
    Wall of Tanglecord
    Carrion Call
    Rust Tick
    Gold Myr
    Golem's Heart
    --> Argentum Armor
    Island
    Kemba's Skyguard
    Withstand Death
    Blade-Tribe Berserkers
    Instill Infection
    Whitesun's Passage
    Bonds of Quicksilver

    This or Instill Infection - but I decided to try this card and see how good it is. It won me 3/4 games I played it.
    Pack 3 pick 4:
    Glint Hawk
    Fume Spitter
    Echo Circlet
    Vault Skyward
    Island
    Blackcleave Goblin
    --> Thrummingbird
    Furnace Celebration
    Assault Strobe
    Blunt the Assault
    Tel-Jilad Fallen
    Throne of Geth

    Plague Stinger-esque card? I don't have enough artifacts to make Throne of Geth usable.

    Pack 3 pick 5:
    Mountain
    Carapace Forger
    Tainted Strike
    --> Untamed Might
    Accorder's Shield
    Oxidda Daredevil
    Vedalken Certarch
    Grafted Exoskeleton
    Bleak Coven Vampires
    Seize the Initiative
    Corrupted Harvester

    Pack 3 pick 6:
    Echo Circlet
    Steady Progress
    Flight Spellbomb
    Soul Parry
    Plains
    Ezuri's Archers
    Assault Strobe
    Saberclaw Golem
    Bellowing Tanglewurm
    --> Flesh Allergy

    Only okay removal, but will probably make the deck anyway.

    Pack 3 pick 7:
    Alpha Tyrranax
    Stoic Rebuttal
    Dross Hopper
    Melt Terrain
    Tel-Jilad Defiance
    Loxodon Wayfarer
    --> Twisted Image
    Echo Circlet
    Island
    I actually quite like this card. It can mess up combat math, act as a removal spell at times, and cantrip.

    Pack 3 pick 8:
    Golden Urn
    --> Infiltration Lens
    Turn Aside
    Golem Foundry
    Tainted Strike
    Semblance Anvil
    Swamp
    Auriok Sunchaser

    Pack 3 pick 9:
    Goblin Gaveleer
    Razorfield Thresher (FOIL)
    --> Stoic Rebuttal
    Blunt the Assault
    Relic Putrescence
    Swamp
    Bleak Coven Vampires

    Pack 3 pick 10:
    Auriok Replica
    Ezuri's Archers
    Relic Putrescence
    Vector Asp
    Forest
    --> Throne of Geth

    I'm quite happy wheeling this, and might make the deck.
    Pack 3 pick 11:
    Golem's Heart
    Withstand Death
    --> Instill Infection
    Whitesun's Passage
    Bonds of Quicksilver

    Now I'm happy that I took the Argentum Armor. This is a really nice wheel that was a gift.
    Pack 3 pick 12:
    Vault Skyward
    Island
    Furnace Celebration
    --> Blunt the Assault

    Pack 3 pick 13:
    Bleak Coven Vampires
    Seize the Initiative
    --> Corrupted Harvester

    Pack 3 pick 14:
    Plains
    --> Assault Strobe

    Pack 3 pick 15:
    --> Island

    Deck was pretty interesting, and went 2-1, losing to an absurd infect deck third round with two Flesh Eater Imps, among other things.

    ------ MBS ------

    Pack 1 pick 1:
    Treasure Mage
    Turn the Tide
    Crush
    Plains
    Hexplate Golem
    Leonin Skyhunter
    --> Corrupted Conscience
    Banishment Decree
    Ardent Recruit
    Pistus Strike
    Into the Core (FOIL)
    Myr Sire
    Vivisection
    Pierce Strider
    Darksteel Plate

    This or Into the Core. I decided I like blue more and it's an overall better card.

    Pack 1 pick 2:
    Training Drone
    Swamp
    Kuldotha Ringleader
    Concussive Bolt
    Signal Pest
    Viridian Corrupter
    Quicksilver Geyser
    Tangle Hulk
    Tine Shrike
    --> Flesh-Eater Imp
    Scourge Servant
    Viridian Emissary
    Fuel for the Cause
    Mirran Mettle

    I REALLY don't want to be U/G, as I don't want to end up with no removal. I decided to take the Imp, arguably the second strongest card, barring Viridian Corrupter - which I'm not taking.

    Pack 1 pick 3:
    Glissa's Courier
    Ardent Recruit
    Quicksilver Geyser
    Piston Sledge
    Flensermite
    Virulent Wound
    Gnathosaur
    Brass Squire
    Steel Sabotage
    Forest
    --> Sangromancer
    Shriekhorn
    Dross Ripper

    Not that deep of a pack, seeing obvious black signals in the form of Sangromancer and Virulent Wound. Not really sure what type of black deck we'll be going into, but infect does seem open. I don't really want to abandon the p1p1, but I might have to.
    Pack 1 pick 4:
    Flayer Husk
    Accorder Paladin
    Tangle Mantis
    Swamp
    Phyresis
    Hexplate Golem
    Rot Wolf
    Phyrexian Digester
    --> Neurok Commando
    Gnathosaur

    Forest
    --> Fangren Marauder
    Rot Wolf
    Razorfield Rhino
    Unnatural Predation
    Loxodon Partisan
    Lead the Stampede
    Priests of Norn
    Bladed Sentinel
    Quicksilver Geyser

    Immediately I'm punished by getting passed a FIFTH pick Marauder and Rot Wolf. It's definitely too late to go into infect, I think, so I take the Marauder - which I believe is the stronger card anyway. I guess the Geyser is okay, but meh.

    Horrifying Revelation
    Koth's Courier

    Again, good solid dork. We're seeing some white, but I really don't want to be B/W.
    Pack 1 pick 7:

    Rally the Forces
    --> Phyrexian Rager
    Praetor's Counsel

    Iron Myr
    Instill Infection
    --> Arc Trail
    Nim Deathmantle
    Exsanguinate

    Pack 3 pick 15:

    Deck was pretty interesting, and went 2-1, losing to an absurd infect deck third round with two Flesh Eater Imps, among other things.

    I was playing in an MBS 4-3-2-2 today, and in round two, my clock was at 2:00, my opponents at :50 seconds. He eventually timed out the turn before he would have WON. I mean, yeah, I was a bit happy I ended up winning, albeit guilty that I received a win I shouldn't have had. I'm bittersweet about the change - I think it is good in the fact that it discourages and practically shuns double queuers, but I don't like that if you get DC'd for a few mins (which happens all too often), you're practically screwed.
