My Opponnent Has Out a Heritage Druid & Nettle Sentinel. I play a Phyrexian Revoker. What Do I name to stop Heritage Druid's Ability if there is something I can name? I kind of feel that naming Nettle will make it so it can no longer be used (Together with 2 other elves) to tap to produce mana, but I would like to know for certain if that would stop the Nettle Sentinel from being able to use that ability. Or do I name Heritage Druid? Or is there nothing I can do?
Sorry if this was covered already, but I only went back a few pages. I've been seeing some lists running 1-of sea-gate wreckage. Anyone have success with that card? Debating if I should throw one in my list today.
1. In a game of EDH, if my commander is in play when The Great Aurora is played, and I choose to put it in the command zone rather than back into my deck as The Great Aura instructs, will I still draw the card for my general when we draw new hands?
2. If I have tokens in play, will I draw a card for each of them off the Great Aurora?
Pretty straightforward question: Price of Glory is in play, and it is my opponent's turn. They the play Word of Command on me, then make me play a spell by tapping my lands. Are my lands destroyed? I fear that they are, but I would like confirmation
Haven't posted to this thread in quite a while, but I thought I would add in a little input. I see a lot of people trying out/switching to 2 color builds. I'm still rocking mono white after 4-5 years, and I'm still winning the majority of my matches. Cards like Sylvan Library are sick in general (Auto include in every EDH deck that runs green), but I've never felt that the deck's draws need any smoothing out. We have a lot of live draws as the game progresses; much more than a lot of other decks out there. Plus the fact that we are mono-colored and have lots of basics means it is hard for decks to knock us off our color. I would much rather set up a nice tax-heavy lockdown board state early on, and draw random stuff from that point forward, than play a library on turn 2 which could have been a Thalia, Guardian of Thraben or Stoneforge Mystic. I personally would maindeck Rest in Peace over library if I was going to maindeck 2cmc enchantments anyways, because it seems like it would be relevant in most matches we face in the current meta.
I've played D&T in modern, but I'm currently on G/W Hatebears because I like the extra reach green gives the deck (And Dromoka's Command is the truth!). So I completely understand wanting to give the deck some extra reach. But the modern version of D&T didn't have all the great/powerful things that make the legacy version what it is (Karakas, Port, Wasteland, SFM, Jitte etc). Plus, hatebears doesn't utilize vials or flickerwisp, so it's pretty much a completely different animal. Gaddock Teeg is an all-star in a lot of matchups, so I could see wanting him in D&T, but I don't think he is worth disrupting the mana-base for. Show me another 2-drop hatebear at his level (Sorry Voice of Resurgence), and I might sleeve up a new 75 to try out. I'm always on the lookout for new deck tech, but have never felt the need to add another color. And of course I am just speaking to the G/W build, I know there is a version out there with red that seems cool (Imperial Recruiter seems ideal for a deck like this), so take all this as you wish.
As for Dig Through Time, that card is annoying as ****, especially because it makes our girl Thalia look silly while they're findind bombs to drop on us. But If you keep taxing hard, they wont be able to play whatever they find anyways (Unless it's lands). But if anyone else if finding it to be too much of a problem, I think we should consider revisiting Jötun Grunt. He hits hard, and he doesn't like people delving (Doesn't think too highly of Tarmogoyf or Deathrite Shaman either).
Anyways, it's time to go to bed, and debate hitting up SCG Chicago for legacy today. Hope I have given at least a little food for thought.
I have Whip of Erebos in play giving my creatures lifelink. My opponent casts Dromoka's Command choosing to fight my creature against his, and for me to sacrifice an enchantment. Assuming Whip is my only enchantment, and I will have to sacrifice it, does he get to control the order those 2 modes happen, or do they happen at the same time? Can he make me sacrifice the Whip first if he chooses, so I do not gain any life from the fighting?
I am trying to fully understand the card The Abyss
Oracle text is: "At the beginning of each player's upkeep, destroy target nonartifact creature that player controls of his or her choice. It can't be regenerated."
Additional, via magiccards.info it states that: The controller of The Abyss controls the ability, but the current player chooses what gets destroyed.
So since I am seeing the word target in there, I just want to know who is targeting what? If my opponent gets to pick the creature, are they the ones choosing it as a legal target? If a creature has shroud, are they impervious to the effects of the abyss?
I am well aware that bringing enchantment auras onto the battlefield directly instead of casting them allows you to enchant creatures that you may not normally be able target, such as ones with shroud or hexproof. But I would like to know the interaction between such cards with creatures that have protection from that color aura. For example, if I resolve a Sun Titan, who's etb trigger brings back a Rancor, can that rancor be placed on a Mirran Crusader? Now normally when a creature has an enchantment of a specific color on it, then later on gains protection, it falls off. But will this rancor exist attached to the Mirran Crusader for just a slight moment, long enough for it to fall off and then come back to my hand? Or am I not allowed to place it there with the Sun Titan's ability because it is an illegal action or something?
First question is simple. Does a card with fading such as Parallax Tide only get sacrificed for having no counters on it during the upkeep when fading triggers, or any time it has no counters on it?
Second Question:
I have out a Parallax Tide with 5 counters, Spreading Seas, Brago, King Eternal, and Sundial of the Infinite. Can I remove 4 counters from tide to exile 4 lands, hit an opponent with Brago, blink tide & seas. Then stack my triggers so I draw a card from seas before the Tide trigger brings back the lands. Then with tide trigger on the stack, end the turn with sundial to keep the lands exiled permanently? The question is really if I can stack etb and ltb triggers however I want.
