Hey, please excuse my absence from this post. I see that it has been months.. but I will reply anyway. I think that Kess is an excellent upgrade for the build. The deck performed fairly well and managed to be fun to play with and against. I highly suggest it for casual metagames.

I havent tested the card but I think your deck is an interesting example. The card is designed so that you build your deck with mostly creatures and then the enchantment rewards you for that. Your deck can really use a Gaea's Cradle but doesn't seem to want Growing Rites. I think it will find its way into the format but it wont be a slam dunk like the land that inspired it.

Are you not running Sol Ring? I imagine that is purposeful.

I finished my version of this deck a while ago and I've been tweaking it a little. I included Avacyn, Angel of Hope instead of Darksteel Forge. My reasoning for this choice is that Avacyn is a huge flying threat that can also hold equipment where Forge doesn't do as much. She also has the added benefit of making all your stuff indestructible. Shes weaker to removal like Path and Swords but shes a bigger impact on the game if she survives.

Its worth noting the last reply to this thread was back in January, but as I play Ojutai I have a ton of suggestions here. I actually used this decklist for inspiration. I ended up just using Ojutai as a efficient threat for a u/w control deck. It works very well for my area and I appreciate the ideas I got here. Using vigilance for permanent hexproof has been very useful.

Brave the Sands is strictly better and Always Watching is arguably better. Serra's Blessing does have the best art of all these options.

I totally agree on the Sword point. I would suggest either Sword of War and Peace or Sword of Light and Shadow for this deck as well. Protection from all colors is pretty useful for evasion. Some smart players might have some instant speed removal for him if you dont have some sort of protection and the swords can help with that.

Dark Confidant is useful. It can be used for all the things a creature can be used for and it draws cards on its own. With 40 life and library manipulation the drawback can almost be ignored.

My group is all angry that this is a flavor fail. I think it will be good for gameplay though. Breya can run all Tezzerets she wants now, for example. I think it opens up some theme deck capability with the flip walkers as well.

One can argue that more restrictions are better for creativity, but I for one am excited to jam all Jaces into monoblue.

Thanks for posting this deck. I started working on my deck of the same theme last night. I like where you started and I think we ended up with a lot of the same ideas.

I'm wondering what you decided in regards to Loxodon Warhammer and Behemoth Sledge. Nazahn grants that second ability which allows you to tap potential blockers. For this reason I will be trying to save slots that grant evasion. I've also considered Akroma's Memorial because mass haste is something I might want, plus it also grants flying and trample so.. ?

Let us know where this deck goes. I can post mine once I get a working list if youre interested.

If Intuition and Buried Alive are turning pushing the deck in the direction of combo you can always include less tutors and more looting. In the past I've used looting and cantrips to reduce the power of certain decks.

I think you can include Treasure Cruise and Dig Through Time. Obviously you dont want to exile cards without cage counters, but almost all of your deck besides ramp and lands will end up in the yard. Theyre some pet cards of mine.

I like this card for what it does at face value. Nullifying Cyclonic Rift and Armageddons is great.

Trying to win without any turns is an interesting and creative thing but in the end its almost like scooping out the game. If the idea is forcing your opponents to fight each other while you sit invincible.. its like you're not playing the game. Sure, you win, but you don't get to play anymore.

I purposely avoided Goblin Sharpshooter because of how it removes all choices. I understand how good it is with deathtouch. When I built this deck I wanted it to be less than 100% optimized.

Full disclosure, I haven't played this deck in about a year. Its totally possible I will revisit Godo, but at the moment I haven't played him in a while.

Quietus Spike is a fine option honestly. I purposely avoided Goblin Sharpshooter because of how it removes all choices. You might be able to kill a lot of creatures or all creatures a player controls with this build. But you cannot just destroy all the creatures you want (until someone removes the combo). I would start with sharpshooter first if that is what you want to do. He goes very well in the deck as I already run Matron and Recruiter.
