    Went 5-0 with Tezz controll

    Round 1 - WUGb Pod - (2-0)
Game 1 Turn 3 tezz just allowed me to out race my opponent after making Inkmoth a 5/5 2 turns in a row.
Game 2 He boarded in LOADS of artiact hate and pretty much kept me out of artifacts all game my 2 black suns were doing a grand job of keeping his creatures in the bin. My turn 9 i played tezz and +1 him getting nothing he played a sheoldred from hand and passes the turn. my turn i draw a Myr Battlesphere and play it along with the metamorph i had in hand to win the game.

    Round 2 - UG Infect - 2-0
Game 1 Me drawing well coupled with him unable to find any blue mana just made this game a slow but certain win for me.
Game 2 Spellskite ruins this type of deck in conjunction with Surgical extraction just means my opponent cant do anything to me

    Round 3 - RU Flashback Aggro - 2-0
Game 1 My main deck Nihil's and Spellskites keep the games mostly underwraps with Tezz going ulti a few time for about 6-8 life. not the cleanest win ever
Game 2 Sideboard in my 3rd Nihil and 4th Spellskite and my 3 Surgical extractions The game is long but i get there without too much difficulty

    Round 4 - Tempered Steel - 2-1
Game 1 I got crushed by a superspeedy start from my opponent.
Games 2 and 3 were almost identical down to the way i won the game both times. After Memoriciding his Tempered Steels it was a short stroll to victory.

    Round 5 - UR Titan Controll - 2-0
Game 1 He gets stuck on 5 mana for a few turns and he cant keep up with Inkmoth flying over for a few turns to win me the game
Game 2 We both do nothing untill he plays a frost titan wich i Metamorph 2 times and proceed to run over into a few chump blockers but its too late and he cant recover.

    Summary.

While my meta is tuned slightly toward aggro Tezz can get there and do it well. Its a deck with lots of semi-answers and i look forward to tweaking it in the near future (I dont run lillianas)

I built a mono green Tribal spider deck for a friend of mine who just likes playing silly decks to play in the FNM its a rather funny deck doesn't care about board wipes with the flashback spider producer and it has reasonable control aspects with Beast within and Bramblecrunch aswell as Arachnus web.

It isn't meant to be anywhere near serious but it can do well and its a good place to start with the new sets.

    that perfect opener is bad

you want 2 bears 1 lord and one image for your first 3 plays after that you want an automaton and that should really be close to game over.

I played illusions to a 4-1 win at my local FNM where the meta is populated with controll and versions of RDW and Boros.

Against controll i didnt have many issues it was all about building critical mass and going for the single shot win wich is pretty easy with the phantasms deck

having 7 frost giants on the table really helps aswell.

Not much winning tournaments gives more than enough prize support to fund trading for comp decks

It won the UK nats the game was a damn long one too and it had the opponent in knots unable to do anything.

This wont work because then Magic only becomes about how big your walet is. Think of it like this if JTMS was somthing every shop had a good number of and you could go in and buy them on their own, the price would have still been high because theyre not gonna print enough for everyone to have a play set.

The only way to stop the prices rising would be to sell them at a set price, this is when Joe Money bags comes in buys them all out and sells them on for a profit.

With the current system you have a chance at getting JTMS for the RRP of booster packs or what ever your store sells them for.

On that note if its early game theres no reason not to ply the land immediately even make a sound of excitement it can make your opponent think your light on land

I usually keep a pile of random tokens with me wich can mislead an opponent.

My favourite way to get under my opponents skin is to play slow game one not too slow mind dont want to be accused of time wasting, then in game 2 speed up especially if im in a bad position i will play as fast as i can without making mistakes. Players who arent used to tournaments will fall into this trap very easily its harder to catch more experienced players but when they fall into it its so much more fun to watch them try to keep pace with you but make so many mistakes as they do it.

With the previous list i posted on page 80 at our recent FNM i went 4-0 to win the event

Round 1 :- My opponent was the only player to beat me in a game all night. He was playing a Birthing Pod Deck (2-1)

g1: He Dropped a BoP turn 1 pod turn 2 and a second pod turn 3 at this point i was just out matched and he ran away with the game (loss)

g2: I boarded in my Flashfreezes and settled in for the long game playing totally reactionary couldnt counter the first pod so took a chunk of damage early on dropped a wurmcoil turn 4 to deal with his early plays. Countered a 2nd pod and used my metamorph on his Linvala after that he just couldnt keep up with the wurmcoil eating his creatures and gaining me life (Win)

g3 Went pretty much the same just alot slower going to time on the round. (win)

This was not a deck i was expecting to face so i was learning to play on the fly against it just glad it worked.

Round 2:- My opponent had gotten a BYE first round so i had no idea what he was playing turned out to be a really bad vamps deck (2-0)

g1: Im on the play draw a decent hand and play a turn 3 Wurmcoil he seems fine with it. Draw a tezz gambit into 2 metamorphs and clone the wurm twice game over as he scoops

g2: He puts me on the play and its Deja Vu i dont even get to turn 4 and he just scoops when i drop the turn 3 wurmcoil

Good draws vs bad deck meant i got a quick pizza so i was happy.

Round 3 :- This is where the real decks started my opponent this round was Valakut (2-0)

g1: This game wasnt even funny he got mana shafted i got mana flooded my plays consisted of 4 inkmoths 2 chalices and 1 tezz gambit and i just poisoned him out of the game no blue mana ftw. He dropped one forest one valakut and a battlement and thats it all game. (win)

g2: Game 2 ive sided in my Flashfreezes and boy am i glad i did, hes on the play and tries a turn 3 titan wich i counter my turn i draw a flashfreeze and decide not to play the architect in my hand but play a Chalice instead good choice from me as he goes for the turn 4 Green sun wich is countered hes all ready to go but 0 cards in hand i decide to go for broke and drop all but one card in my hand (wich is a land) getting out an architect, magnet and a slaver leaving myself with flashfreeze mana open. he doesnt like this and draws and passes. I draw a tezz gambit and draw into wurmcoil i drop it down and activate the slaver to find a titan sat in his hand he draws a harrow so i drop the titan grab 2 valakuts sac a forest and grab 2 mountains blast him for 6 i end his turn and tap the titan. I draw see my card chuckle and he scoops (win)

It was a decent game all told and ive lost to him in the past it was just my lucky day.

Round 3 :- Cawblade i sat down knowing what was coming and not one bit happy about it i hate this deck with a pasion (2-0)

g1: I play super defensively and nearly regret it but it pays of after tec edging 2 colonades and playing round counters to get a contagion engine out when he mis tapped his mana so i could kill his birds. and playing a wurmcoil when he left one blue mana up hoping it wasnt a steel sabotage. a game of pure perseverence but i got there in the end. (win)

g2: I hate his deck and am 1-0 up so i go for broke after i draw a stunning hand and come out of nowhere having 4 wurmcoils on the table by turn 5 hes stunned i would play this way after the way i played game 1 and he just couldnt keep up with it he looks at his hand then back at the table and declares his loss dropping his hand showing 2 Days and a Batterskull. Great game for me (win)

The change of play pace really unsettled my opponent this round but i believe i would have won g2 anyway with the cards i had drawn. Still hate his deck but im not so worried about it anymore.

Conclusion is i need to tweak the SB a little more and shift some numbers around in the main deck but overall i think Metamorph is a good card in most decks but its brutal in architect on the table next to me in round 3 i watched a lass play 2 metamorphs on her opponents Grave titan and he just sighs. He cant deal with a black artifact creature against his as all his removal is now useless.

What so BLUE the colour with the most controll needs a frost titan when you know you could use Volition reigns wich i feel would be the better choice
