glad I found this thread, I was wondering the same thing- im still not sure if I wanna crack it, but the sealed thing doesn't seem to be holding a huge premium right now- this is the first commander stuff ive bought, will WOTC/HASBRO keep printing them as they said, or will this actually become rare and worth something down the line?

  • posted a message on Smoky cards
I am horribly allergic to cigarette smoke, so I will actually throw away cards that stink too much.

however, one way I have found to make them not stink- take them out of their sleeves and line them, one deep, in a Tupperware container. on top of the cards, put a dryer sheet or two (depending on the # of cards) then put something slightly heavy that wont cause bending to the cards (I use the rigid toploaders) on top of the dryer sheets. close the Tupperware up and leave it for a week. the dryer sheets suck up the smoke smell. granted your cards will smell like bounce for a little while, but the smell fades, and when it does, the cards should be smoke-free.

  • posted a message on Does anyone know where I can find a Theros checklist?
Im looking for a simple list of the card names, in numerical, or even alphabetical, order. Every list I find has complete card descriptions, which I don't need. I am trying to build the set, and I just need to have a list that I can keep checking stuff off of as I get them in.

    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks!

  • posted a message on What is happening with the prices on this forum???
it takes some work to buy and sell. I sell here some, and on ebay some. I notice I generally get a bit higher prices on ebay- but I have to deal with ebay fees. If you want to open a post and automatically see everything at the price you are willing to pay, that probably wont happen.

If you don't mind searching a bit, and negotiating with people, you can find great deals here. Ive built all of my standard decks almost exclusively here, and I never felt like I overpaid.

If you need money NOW, here isn't the place, as people can afford to be picky. But if you don't mind working at it a bit, and negotiating, you can do just fine buying, or selling here

  • posted a message on Bad Buyer eBay Help!
sellers can no longer leave negative feedback for buyers on ebay, so a lot of sellers will leave a positive ranking but will slam the person in the comments section- its really the only way to tell sellers that a buyer is a joke.

id relist them and block him as a bidder- but make sure you give him the time you said you would before you do so

after all that- the guy had the sign mislabelled- it was actually 2011 core, not 5th dawn, so i struck out

did manage to get 12 loose zendikar packs for 3 bucks each, but didnt hit anything interesting really, except the lands...

was thinking about doing that as well, not sure if im gonna open it (I play mostly standard, so the stuff wouldnt help me directly) or if I just sell it for a quick 50-60 buck profit

  • posted a message on Standard Boros Deck Question
Im running a pretty standard Boros deck (although its still in the works)

    Here's my question

4x Stromkirk Nobles- or 4x Legion Loyalists- or 2x of each- or 4x of both?

Also would love to hear your logic behind the advice you give me

Thanks in advance for any feedback

  • posted a message on Are all uncommons created equal?
Not in terms of play value (they obviously arent) but in terms of production.

I ask this because Ive bought the equivalent of about 3 booster boxes worth of gatecrash- and havent pulled a single skullcrack

4 aurelias, no problem. 13 shock lands- yup
    even one skullcrack- nope...

just wondering if there are "levels" to uncommons- are some more rare than others?

    Thanks

Ive mostly played multiplayer, anything goes Magic for as long as Ive played the game- well, my buddies want to start FNM, so that means delving into the realm of competitive decks. So- what Im looking to build is a white/red creature/direct damage deck- and I have no idea at all where to start, so if there is some sort of pre-set deck of this type, that would be great, if not, I could definately use some guidance.

Thanks, and sorry if this is the wrong place to post- this whole competitive thing is brand new to me, even though Ive been playing the game since Unlimited
