Went in yesterday to see if they had any of these, and found something very different. They had a repack, but the promo was hidden behind the first booster. Picked up two, and both were Innistrad, Dark Ascension, Innistrad, but the promos were just random Premium deck cards. Got grim lavamance, and a forest from slivers. :/
It would be nice to see them reprinted, but preferably in a set. Casual supplements tend to get eaten up, which then causes an inflation in prices for certain singles. Shardless Agent, Scavenging Ooze, Baleful Strix etc.
Prosh's ability is very red, so perhaps we can assume that the others will be similiar (Espers will be Blue, Grixis Black, Bant White and Naya Green). While not likely, this is speculation!
For Esper, if not delving into an artifact deck, it could be something along the lines of : When ~ enters the battlefield, tap X target creatures where X is mana spent. Those creatures don't untap during their controller's next untap step.
Bant as an enchantment deck would make sense. Especially considering how most Rafiq decks end up playing out. I'd like to say it would be something along the lines of search for X enchantments and put in hand, but that seems like it would be broken way to easy. And enchantment with X CMC or less is just to weak, although if you were to run conscription, it would probably make them not want to kill your Commander to much. Maybe if they did it like Skullbriar, where enchantments could move through zones with the commander, then search for X CMC or less would be fine. Perhaps X Enchantments with a total additive CMC no more than what you used to cast. Lots of possibilities if it were to be an enchantment commander. Who knows!
Grixis is the one that I am rather excited for as my current EDH is a Thraximundar deck. I would like to see something along the lines of other creatures get -X/-X until end of turn. That would be balanced(ish) as it would more than likely sweep both boards. I would love for it to be some reanimator effect though.
As for Naya, an Overrun effect could be entertaining, and quite likely. Fetching a creature with CMC X or less would make sense as well, though not quite as likely.
Just a few more months, hopefully we'll see some reveals in the near future!
What if the gods were like Misthollow griffin? Here's what I mean:
God (If ~ would be placed into a zone other than the battlefield, exile it instead. While this card is exiled, it may be cast as though it was in your hand.)
The wording might be off a bit, but this means that if it dies, bounces, or is shuffled back in, it gets exiled instead. Then you can cast it again. This also prevents reanimator from going crazy with it, as its exiled as soon as it hits the grave, regardless of what zone it travelled from.
This also takes care of the "gods should be indestructible/hexproof" issue w/o making it really broken. And if you look at the new border, it looks starry, makes sense with casting from exile, and needing a new border, because it doesn't function like any other card.
There's only 2 issues: MaRo would likely hate this mechanic; and it should have a different cost from exile, but proper wording and formatting could fix that.
I think that this is a very good guess, and had been thinking of something similiar to it as well.
Perhaps when they are cast from your hand, they are cast into exile. From there, they can activate abilities and attack, etc. They could have some sort of ability where they could, as Gods should, transcend zones. Highly unlikely, but it would be neat I believe.
They would have to be dormant until hardcast. So if you were to exile them from your hand/graveyard/library through a spell/ability, it would not work.
Hopefully we see some very interesting exploration of design, and not just a different take on the Eldrazi. Although casting a God(dess) for :symb::symb::symb::symb::symb::symb::symb::symb::symb::symb::symb::symb::symb::symb::symb: (BFM style) would be awesome. Impractically awesome.
If a spell you cast would be countered, instead pay X life, where X is it's CMC and exile it on to ~.
At the beginning of your first main phase, cast all spells exiled on ~ without paying their mana cost. If X is part of the casting cost, you may pay it with life. Spells cast this way are exiled.
Was thinking about making it any spell, sort of a way to steal others spells, but figured that this would be a little bit more likely.
Whenever a player sacrifices a permanent, each other player sacrifices a permanent of the same type. If a player can not, they exile cards from the top of their library until they exile a card with the same CMC.
You may cast nonland cards exiled by ~ by paying X life, where X is the cards CMC
Nope. The token is essentially removed from existing at all. Just like a token can't actually be placed into the graveyard. Tokens only exist on the battlefield.
216.3. A token in a zone other than the in-play zone ceases to exist. This is a state-based effect. (Note that a token changing zones sets off triggered abilities before the token ceases to exist.) Once a token has left play, it can't be returned to play by any means.
Emancipation Angel's ability doesn't trigger until it enters the battlefield. Since ~ is a creature, it'll return itself to your hand as it would be the only creature available.
Edit : However you'd return a land/artifact/enchantment (etc.) if you wanted, as it's "return a permanent"
While I like the idea of it being a maelstrom reprint, i could see it being something along the lines of, "Gain 1 life for each attacking creature, then return all attacking creatutes to their owners hands."
I'm sort of expecting cards that work with lands (Crucible of Worlds/Zuran orb etc.), not just lands. Sort of like how dragons had Dragonstorm and Form of the Dragon.
Bubo, the Golden Owl
Legendary Artifact Creature - Owl
It all makes sense now! Theros indeed!

Release the Polar Kraken perhaps?
It'll tie into the belief of Centaur Omenreader being reprinted and snow lands. Huzzah?

I was merely using it as an example.
