Recently it has come to my attention that I am far worse at this game then I should be. I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm bad at magic but I am most definitely not good.
This is why I ask you;
Are you good at magic?
To be clear, I'm not talking about how social you are or how much you enjoy the game, I'm talking about how good you are at playing the game and beating the person(s) across the table.
Yes, we could debate what makes a good magic player but thats not what this thread is about, its about play skill.
Where Im from at least there is a bigger yu-gi-oh playing community, that plus the show makes me think that its worth a bit more then magic is.
Id say they would try to introduce rotating sets to the game like magic has. Ive seen enough Y players join magic and quit to know that would destroy the market and losses from that would put the whole company out of business. Konami would then buy BOTH magic and yugioh and we would get a magic TV series and so on and so forth.
Any combo deck that doesn't insta-kill you.
-If you insist on making infinite mana at least have the curtsy to cast a fireball.
Defensive/stall decks that both stop me from playing the game and don't do anything.
-Casting an emrical on turn 13 way win you games but it doesn't make you a winner.
Silence on a stick decks.
-So I we sit here and see if you can kill me before I can draw a shatter?
-I'm draw going, you better be keep your turns about 9 seconds long.
I guess I've had better luck playing against it then you but I have not found it to be a problem.
EDH is full of crazy plays and fast mana, thats kind of the point but any card that puts players on a clock can be helpful in the long games.
In a lot of playgroups there is an unspoken rule of not doing anything until the 4th or 5th turn. If your local group is like that then maybe you need to talk to him or even change your play style. Start playing quicker decks so that when he does get a quick start you can keep up and make him really afraid to flip the next coin.
It doesn't matter, that is why you play this with his little blue buddy and force them to draw at the end to kill them.
But I dont want him to be a mill card. I want to put the top 10 of my deck in my grave then cast a ridiculous creature with...... wait a second.... okay never mind, zombify and rise from the grave are not in standard.
Seriously people this IS NOT A MILL (haha Ive always wanted to say that)
Dredge has been one of the big archetypes for ever and hasnt seen much love of late.
and its not like mill hasn't been useful before (link to other jaces goes here)

It would be the end of days.

Hmm This is a disapointing fact that I overlooked.

Goblins wins turn 3. Whats your point?
To me this looks like WotC saying "Hey blue mages, we think its time you learn that the game has more then just counterspells."
Anyone got an elixir of immortality within arms reach? You'll need it.

If I find I have 2-3 of them early in there life cycle Ill build something and smite fools at my FNM but other then that its only good for EDH.
Leyline of Sanctity (Specifically because its been re-worded to say "you have hexproof)
Red on the other hand.... looking pretty cool
