I heard from Lesurgo that my cards mailed on the 10th of December made it to his house today!! 200 miles takes 3+ weeks eh? So, whoever the other late person is will be getting my stuff. SWEET!!!

My girlfriend and I's cards also arrived today, and we also posted on the 10th of december! But ours were from the UK...

As I said before, it seems to be fate that we exchange cards lol Wink

Also, the more creatures you play, the worse the delver becomes. Playing 8 1 drops and 4 architects already leaves you tight on space, and you cannot reliably use Delver with only 8 instants/sorceries. You would need at least 15, but more reliably 20+, as has already been stated. Unless a more controlling version of GA is brewed, then I believe delver is an incorrect card choice. If one is, then you would not play the bear anyway.

However, I would argue that 2 vedalken certarch could be put to very good effect in some versions.

My package was meant to be with Lesurgo between the 11-15. Don't use Expediated shipping, it doesn't work :p But, maybe Galspanic's and my own package will arrive on the same fateful day, as an omen that our christmas trade was meant to be? Wink

  • posted a message on Deck box art fading/rubbing
    Hey everyone!

I bought an ultrapro deck box a few months ago, one of the sideloading ones with art on everyface. Recently, I've noticed that the art is fading, and white spots are appearing in it, probably from rubbing in my bag or something.

Has anyone else noticed or had problems with this? Any suggestions on how to prevent it? I'm thinking that if I bought a new box and put clear varnish over the art it might help.

    Any thoughts?

Quite a few CCGs/TCGs have been marketed towards children. Things like Dinosaur King, Pokémon, Chaotic and Yugioh all aimed at a young children's market by advertising with shows or the like. Magic is different though. It (and World of Warcraft) seem to cater to an older audience. The problem is that all card games are tarred with the same brush, as people are generally ignorant.

She gets 10% commission on any offerings donated by people she brings. Wink

A part of going to church is spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. She could be trying to recruit you.

That's a pyramid scheme, and I'm pretty sure the OP is in America, not Egypt.

*Pauses for applause, to stunned silence and facepalms*

Annnyway, I think you have a shot. But be yourself, honestly. I'm probably one of the worst in the world for Over-analysing everything (lucky me, my girlfriend likes it and does it too!), but it generally does more harm than good. Just relax, let things happen, then tell her how you feel. Don't leave signs, or "make it obvious". Just say the damn words. It's hard, but either you save yourself a long time of dreaming, followed by heartbreak, or you start going out with her. But from what you're saying, I think you have a better shot at going out with her! Wink *Thumbs up*

I have been changing my approach of the deck lately, and I use something similar to Lord of Atlantis build, minus the Tezzerets.

Also, I prefer to play Trinket Mage and Dagger instead of Darksteel Axe. I don't think that being indestructible is relevant enough int the current meta, at least in my LGS. Also, I have enough Humans to use it properly.

I'm also trying Chimeric Mass and Volition Reins. Maybe gonna cut the Reins, I don't know. The splashed colors are mostly used for sideboarding.

Oh, and I only had 1 Nexus at hand, sure thing I'm gonna upgrade to at least 3.

I'm loving where this deck is going... I may borrow/steal and tweak it, as my current list is... inadequate (to be nice to it Wink )

Tormented Soul is the ideal swashbuckler for SOFAF because he's unblockable, and he isn't a huge threat until he actually gets the sword on him at which point, he's immune to black removal.

Perhaps consider Invisible Stalker instead of/as well as The tormented soul? Immune to spot removal, able to chump block, but a turn slower...

It does seem to be more monolatril (sp?). And I am one lol.

Just, as I'm thinking here, is monotheism towards a trinity of being, not a bit of the same? "He's three people, but one being, so he's one God. Right? ...right?"

I would argue that a persons belief in Jesus Christ and his atonement would qualify them as a christian. Not what they believe about the afterlife, about pre-existence, whether the believe in eating fish on a friday, or not drinking coffee. That stuff is up to the conscience of each individual, but as long as one has faith in Christ, strives to be the best they can be and seeks to help others, they can be counted as a Christian. After all, Christ pretty much said, Love one another, and everything else will fall into place Smile

Edit: I'm new to debates, and only skim read the thread, so if something is off topic or whatever, sorry!

  • posted a message on FNM Prize Payout
My LGS has a FNM for £3 (GBP), so ~$5, with a 1/2 pack per person prize pool. Top 3 get promos, and the 4th is distributed randomly (which is against DCI policy... hmmm...).

This means in an 8 man event, 1st gets three packs+Promo, 2nd gets one pack + promo, whilst 3rd and a random guy get a promo.

    This system sucks.

Edit: Oh, and we rarely get more than 12 coming for a non-draft FNM. Even when it is draft, they struggle to make 2 pods, as the prizes are JUST promos

I've Loved FFVII since I was 5 years old, and may be blind to many of its inadequacies, but I still Love it. It is definitely one of my favourite games of all time. And I am an Aeris fanboy Wink

Other honourable mentions include Dark Chronicle, also known as Dark Cloud 2. This game got kind of skipped over, as there were many great games available on the PS2 (best console in my opinion as well) at the time. There is a reason it still sells for ~$30 lol

Also, I've spent countless hours playing Digimon World. I Loved the show as a kid (and still watch it Wink I recently introduced my 9 year old brother to it, and he started complaining about how TV today sucks). For me, this game is clunky at times, but gives me so much control over everything! I Love it to this day, and download emulators to play my old copy Smile

Is this just a brag post? That trade is WAY in your favor...

It wasn't lol. I'm guessing he didn't realise the value of Koth. I gave him time to think about it, as I don't want to be a douche, so now its 1x Koth and Hero, which i think will still keep their value better than snapcaster mage for the moment. I don't see it staying near the $30 mark, which is where he prices it.

Verdi. I watched Aida being performed in an open-air Colosseum, and have been in love with his work ever since Smile

For a more contemporary composer, try Eric Whitacre. He's not Classical per se... (more atonal/20th century), but his work is hauntingly beautiful. In particular, try "Sleep" and "Lux Aurumque".

Edit: Oh, and I'm a classically trained Tuba player, as well as a Baritone-Vocalist.

I'm thinking of trading the snapcaster I got from my box for 2x Koth and a Hero of Oxid ridge. I can't see his value going up over time, for all the reasons stated in this thread. I figure it's best to trade/sell into the hype, trading for proven and stable cards.
