It would have to be a combo or quasi-combo using something like scrap master and either vulshok battlemaster or the toll collector guy.
Equipment is hot because you can spread the cost out over multiple turns and it sticks around if creature dies but in general it gobbles up resources with a delayed pay off while opponents can just focus on advancing towards a win.
IMO double strike is the single most important keyword to make equipment have value in EDH since it helps accelerate time to value.
All that said, a more casual deck can leverage equipment and hold its own, just don't expect to become the next tournament barn burner.
There's two guys who play counterspells in my group. I like to be as close to last to act prior to their turn as possible to reduce the risk of my stuff getting countered.
Style 1: Khans Style, a la, tasigur
Style 2: oona, queen of the fae except B/W B/W R/U R/U for one and B/R B/R W/U W/U for the other
Style 3: Pure Hybrid W/B, W/U, W/R with some generic mana as needed or 2/W, 2/B, 2/R, 2/U
Styke 4: Something like Style 2 but bringing back phyrexian mana because Yawgmoth baby!!!
I'm open to WURB style but it seems boring. Given the rarity of four color creatures, this seems like a good opportunity to use design space to make them versatile so we can get a bunch of mileage out of them.
Wishlist:
A black (and other colors) commander that interacts with equipment, "equip from graveyard" would make me have a deckgasm.
He has a very good ability that can be taken advantage of. When I thought of making a deck with him several things came to mind:Endless Ranks of the Dead , Grave Titan, Ghoulcaller Gisa, etc. He has a lot to work with, which is why I couldn't really decide if I wanted another deck with him at the helm or have him bring his talents to my Prossh deck, who would vastly appreciate his talents.
The old Kalitas could have (should have?) been pushed harder. Print him as is at 5 mana, or 7 mana with a free activated ability, or maybe 6 mana without a tap in his ability. Not sure, but that's a ton of mana for not a lot of value, compare him to Drana from the same block. She's a removal engine and threat.
Seems pretty good. It's not over-costed and has multiple relevant abilities. Plus, it's a hell of a beater with Nightmare Lash, Lashwrithe and Strata Scythe.
They should have bolded the font on lifelink or something, I keep missing that.
My use case was swapping him in for LLOTV. Your mileage may vary but for me, he exiles the most commonly recycled creature type while creating a threatening presence at the same time. I happily trade the exhaustive exiling of LLOTV for something that exiles while enabling me to put pressure on people. He is in a deck that wins via exsanguinate, gray merchant, and kokusho so any chip damage that I get in just lowers the barrier to win with those mechanisms. If you already have a slot of LLOTV, I consider him an upgrade to that slot.
Jared + Lord of Extinction is in color and likely to kill the table, can use a few other giant creatures in this slot too. Consuming Aberration and/or Minion of the Wastes and/or Wall of Blood.
Triskelion + Phyrexian Devourer + Necrotic Ooze = depends on deck CMC but likely clears a table

Play Phyrexian Dreadnought (PD)
PD enters battlefield -> PD's triggered ability triggers and goes on stack -> Ghisa activates sacrificing the PD -> get 12 2/2's -> PD's original trigger resolves doing nothing.
Then play coat of arms and do all of the damage.
That said, phyrexian dreadnought is sweet in this deck.

If Rule 4 was revoked, I wonder if hybrid existing as R&D intended is in the wings.

Divinity of Pride
Memory Plunder
Oona, Queen of the Fae
Possibly one or more lieges as reanimatable buffs

I would recommend things like Tormod's Crypt and ways to recur it, e.g. Sun Titan or Argivian Archealogist (I think that's the name)
