It's not technically against the rules as far as I'm concerned, but it his HIGHLY frowned upon. Although it may be correct to do at a higher EV tournament, I still wouldn't recommend it. It's a good way to gain negative rep.

I noticed it right away. I'm relatively keen at picking up on stuff like that, and it's a master cheat really.

Side Note to Cheaters: Don't cheat when 2300 people are watching you closely. For every 5 people who don't notice stuff like this, at least one person will.

They're pretty much the same thing. User interface, that's all. Also, if you want Fraps, I recommend buying it through their website to help support THE company. This will also keep the PIRATES at BAY.

Seems like you need to pick a deck and stick to it. There is NO combining of the two. Pernicious Deed Control was relevant a few years ago (see GP Columbus, 2010), and UW Stoneforge is relevant now. Why do you need both?

Does this really need a topic? Is this what the internet has come to? People using forums as a crutch so they don't have to think objectively, and make a decision based on ideas - thought out. If you need cash: sell them. If you need particular cards that nobody in your area has: trade for store credit (with the +30% they give, it's not a bad option).

    Thank you, +1.

Everyone posting in this thread complaining about how they don't get money out of their singles doesn't understand how stores operate.

Let's marginally touch on what I'm talking about.

    You go into a store every Friday night, play their FNMs, play their events, and that's all fine. Then you decide you're going to sell a card (a good example would be Sword of War a Peace). You tell the owner you're selling it, they make an offer, say $25. You think that's stupid, because a website like SCG is selling it for $50. The problem with your logic is that;

    a) The store has to make a profit. Sure, they'll slap a $50 label on it, and try and move it... that would be a significant profit.

    b) You're in that store every single Friday to game for 4+ hours. You don't think there's a cost for air conditioning, bathrooms, occupied space (especially in stores that have to rearrange their setup to host large tournaments, sometimes hiding the product they're selling in the back room for example), cost of that refrigerator to keep the drinks ice cold, electricity to keep the place lit, power to vacuum the carpet or man power/time to clean up the place after a big event, etc. etc.

These all add up, while it may be insignificant if you're a one time customer, you better believe it adds up nonetheless.

    c) What people don't understand is that they think their cards are worth what people are selling them for. Let's take a personal example (http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?4607-Bragging-Pimp-Legacy-Decks&p=616970&viewfull=1#post616970, I go by the same username)

I got it valued at around $70. In all actuality, I wouldn't expect a vendor to pay more than $35 for it, despite being a Korean Intuition (which would fetch about $80). To some, it may be a $100 card. To me, it's probably a $50 card. I would take about $40 for it, because I can get another Intuition and then some. To each their own on pimp, but you can't fault a LGS for valuing your cards low, because they don't care nearly as much as you do.

I do not understand how hand shuffling is a pet peeve. First of all, it's useful in about 90% of all games. It keeps your hand random, conceals what you've drawn, gives you time to think, manual dexterity is awesome, and it doesn't hurt anyone.

Example, you're playing Legacy, RUG Tempo VS UW Stoneforge (Although the people in this thread are whining about drafts, so they probably don't play a lot of Legacy). The deck runs 18 land, and you keep a one lander. You play your land, maybe a Nimble Mongoose/Delver of Secrets and pass the turn. Your opponent plays a land and passes. You draw a land (thankfully, or else you would be behind), and you put it to the front of your hand. Then you play it without randomizing your hand. Your opponent, if he is keen, might drop a Wasteland and Wasteland your land if he thinks you kept a land light hand.

Everything has applications. Regardless, here is my Top 5:

    5. iPod listeners - Lack of communication, etc.
    4. Massive people - I'm a larger guy myself, but I'm not OBESE. The people who force you to be crammed next to the guy on the opposite side of you because they're double wide just piss me off. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate larger people, but larger people and a small venue really suck.
    3. Lack of Hygiene - Surprise, this ties into massive people. :S
    2. People who Complain about Netdecks - Seriously, if you want to win, netdeck. Spoiler Alert.
    1. EDH Players - My huge problem with EDH players is that everyone who strictly plays EDH thinks they're better than everyone else. I've never encountered a friendly EDH player, who just enjoys the casual aspect. I always encounter the ignorant douchebags who look down on people who play 'real' constructed formats. They think they're so much better because they play a unique format, and they're hyper competitive.

I guess what I'm saying is the Magic community is terrible. /sarcasm

Personally, I don't care SO long as those removal spells are under the curve. I pretty much only play Legacy, and creatures are relatively easy to remove. Stoneforge for Batterskull is really strong, but not as strong as dropping a turn 5 Batterskull. So long as the problem can be removed easily enough (Which it can be, as every creature in UW Stoneforge is (Lightning Bolt, Swords to Plowshares, Fire/Ice, Chain Lightning, Path to Exile, Lightning Helix, etc.)), then I think it's fair game.
