It will be good if this planeswalker deck actaully becomes top dawg in the meta because in testing so far my mono blue draw go pwns it easily- I have 2 more counters than the deck is running walkers+4 all is dusts and tec edges and expedition maps to own it.

Mono blue Draw Go might become played if this america gladiators deck stars seeing pla

    1: Negate
2: Only takes care of one walker at a time. Gladiators plays 3 copies of each of 4 walkers, and you only have 4 Needles max.
3: Celestial Colonnade and Martial Coup can still win, just like they can in U/W.

I never said Pithing needle single handedly kills American gladiators. It merely helps the matchup.

All Is Dust seems to wipe the floor vs Gladiators though

Jund is top dog still simply because in most stores more people can afford jund and already have the cards for it, then can afford the nearly $800 in cards required to build UWR planeswalkers.

However if the meta you are looking at is the pro tour, right now UWR has clearly moved past Jund as the deck to beat.

To the common man though, the blue collar magic player, Jund will be top dog till it rotates

The matchup against Vamps / mono-black decks for UWr Control is awful, I don't see any point being coy about it. You have too many cards like Lightning Bolt, Earthquake and Ajani Vengeant that just do nothing to help you against that type of aggro. It's bad. I would heavily favor the Vamps player in that scenario, and it's made worse in more control-ish builds that will absolutely use Tectonic Edge + Grim Discovery to wreck your manabase, all while beating you down with bears.

Chapin Control has a rough RDW matchup, that's why I don't run Chapin Control. Pre-Eldrazi I was running 4-color control on the Spread 'Em core - RDW was my best matchup, literally the only way I could lose a game 2 or 3 (I actually never lost a game 2 or 3) was if I had to mulligan to 3 cards or something. RDW + B cannot deal with every cascade ending in Rhox War Monk, Kor Firewalker, Pithing Needle, etc... they hate it. When you drop a lifelink or lifegain every single turn, when you go "Captured Sunlight into Rhox War Monk" they're like "oh crap".

I have been testing UW Tap-Out and it's good enough against RDW that I question if RDW is even viable. Wall of Omens, Knight of the White-Orchid, Baneslayer Angel, Path to Exile, Celestial Purge, Flashfreeze, Negate.... GG? Even Game 1 is favorable because you have so many more creatures, and Gideon is just icing on the cake. You just go "Gideon: your creature spells don't hurt anymore".

lol this guy really seems to know what he's talking about with his UW>>UWR nonsense

Because originality < winning. And I'm serious about that. Imagine telling baseball players they are noobs for using a bat type that some guy is using to drop homers every game. Tell them if they can't do it with their own bat, they shouldn't be playing baseball. The entire argument is ridiculous. Good decks are good decks, and they are backed up by hours of playtesting.

Baseball players all have their own bat crafted specifically to their own wishes-yes all bats have the same basic design but are all different in their own myriad ways to better suit their owners wishes. Your lack of sports knowledge lead to you analogy becoming a phail.

Ethier and Manny dont all use Loney's bat-they all have their own bats, different weights and lengths-similarly to how many people follow archetypes but make their own changes to it to better suit their playstyle.

It's not about originality or lack of it, because originality is not what magic is about. It is instead about building and testing your own version of a deck so that it eventually comes to suit your exact playstyle rather than just ripoff first place deck and go to store.deck.

BTW all is dust looks like it singlehandedly rapes American Gladiators.

The planeswalker deck is basically most expensive+powerful cards in standard.dec with very little synergy. Not so creative or interesting, but hey if it works it works.

Gideon is amazing. It has it's haters just like Jace 2 did but definately lives up to the hype like Jace 2 did. Similar in Power to the amazing Elspeth, another $40 card, and works even better when paired together-I doubt it will drop-especially with the deck that won the latest 5k running 3 of them maindeck
