I don't think I have ever seen a player do the second part of Chaos Warp on Cockatrice. Does everyone just think it is any easier to cast Vindicate that is in colors that would never get Vindicate? I get the person casting it not reminding his opponent but I don't get why the controller doesn't read the card.
Have you considered Godo, Bandit Warlord and Batterskull? They make for a wicked turn after you drop Xenagos. Since his ability fires on each combat step you can take the first to swing with Godo for 6 and then on the second step swing with Godo for 6 and Batterskull 8.
How often do you find yourself wanting haste? Hall of the Bandit Lord would be good for after a board wipe. If the life loss isn't too much of a deal breaker.
Also: wtf, why is Ann Arbor so much cooler than NYC? Everyone here STILL hates DC. =/
The thing about Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti is for a small sized city we have a pretty insane number of dedicated hobbyist stores. 3 shops that run magic, 1 dedicated comic shop/board game shop, 2-3 model stores, all for a population that can't be much higher than 200,000 in the area.
It encourages places like GYOG to run more events like DC tournaments and offbeat stuff.
Demigod's trigger can revive itself, meaning that he blanks most traditional forms of counter-magic. Food for thought.
Only if your opponent is an idiot and counters it before letting the trigger resolve:
If Demigod of Revenge is countered *before* its triggered ability resolves, the ability will still resolve. It will return that Demigod of Revenge from your graveyard to the battlefield, as well as any others. If you're casting a spell to counter Demigod of Revenge, it's important to clarify you're casting it *after* the triggered ability resolves if you don't want that Demigod of Revenge to be put onto the battlefield.
Unfortunately, getting my mp3 player to come out of my radio is a hassle, but I'm going to watch this thread and hold on to some of these ideas.
Ah yeah if I had to update my iPod to listen to them I wouldn't do that. I either download them directly to my phone or to my computer and then put them on my phone.
I really like being able to listen to the comedic networks like SMODCO, Earwolf or Nerdist all of which have amazing podcasts with some of the funniest working comedians today.
I've never really understood or gotten into podcasts, sorry.
I can tell you why they appeal to me: the radio sucks. When I am driving to work and I want to listen to something that isn't 1: Music off my iPod or 2: NPR, I go to a podcast. I mainly chose ones from comedians with my favorites being
How Did This Get Made: Paul Sheer (Andre from the League), Jason Mantzoukas (Rafi from the League) and June Diane Raphael (NTSF:SD:SUV) all get together with a guest and make fun of terrible movies and ask the question that is the title of the podcast. It is amazingly funny and I enjoy listening even when I haven't seen the movie they are talking about (though it certainly helps)
SModCast: Kevin Smith (Clerks) and Scott Mosier (Producer of Clerks) just talk about whatever they want. It just works because Kevin Smith can tell an interesting story about anything so long as you don't mind his foul mind and mouth.
Fatman on Batman: Kevin Smith talks about his favorite comic hero, Batman. You really get to appreciate the people behind the comics and tv shows listening to them talk about making it. Some of my favorite guests have been Mark Hamill, Scott Snyder and Grant Morrison. Its really a lesson in the stuff behind the Bat.
For me Podcasts fill the void of being light but relatively un-engaging. So they are good in the car or when at work I don't have anything particularly difficult to work on. They also are appealing because they are low cost so people can make them on niche topics, its really all about finding some you like and going from there.
Monthly or bi-monthly. I started going in August and there was one in October and November as well. Great place.
Yeah I used to play at Underworld Comics up the road before they closed and then played at Fun 4 All in Ypsilanti until I left for college. That was all before Get Your Game On was even around, these days if I am around there I am at one of the bars.
I'm not in support of the death penalty, largely because I'd rather monsters spend their lives in prison so that no innocent people wrongfully convicted are killed by mistake. This isn't the old west, where we lack the means to adequately hold people for long periods of time. But honestly, the entire prison system is in need of serious reform to be effective.
As for this case in particular, I've no idea what to say to it. It's really easy to say he deserves death and grandstand about firing squads. It's a LOT harder to be the guy who has to give the lethal injection and watch him squirm and die. People who've never been in a situation where someone else's life depends on them rarely know what it takes. Media makes killing someone look easy, but unless you are a psychopath it's always going to have a serious effect on you as a person, regardless of how justified it is. So please, can we not be flippant about the death of a human being, no matter how much of a monster he is? Whether or not he deserves to die, at the very least his victim(s) deserve that we do it with decorum and as a necessary evil.
Ultimately, I guess I say let him rot. It makes no difference to me as long as he's out of the population.
I am also not a supporter of the death penalty because I don't believe that we can have a system that can 100% of the time prevent the execution of an innocent man or woman. Yes some people do in fact deserve to die, but I am willing to let those people stay alive because of the chance that the government has put an innocent person in jail.
I don't understand how people can rail against the government for incompetence and then ever support the death penalty. If you don't think that government can effectively run even minor things how can you ever give them the ability to kill prisoners who could potentially be innocent further down the line.
Thanks for all the tips and advice guys! Didn't get a chance yesterday to test her out, but I will later today.
Can what are 'aa' and 'maw'? auto-attack perhaps, but I don't know maw off the top of my head and lol wiki is blocked at work.
Can always check on PC. thanks again for the help!
Maw is Maw of Malmortius, its a tier 3 item built out of Hexdrinker and a pickaxe. It gives AD, MR, and has:
Unique: Gain +1 attack damage for every 2.5% health missing.
Unique: If you would take magic damage which would leave you at less than 30% of your maximum health, you first gain a shield which absorbs up to 400 magic damage for 5 seconds. 60 second
The reason why Maw is good is because Hexdrinker is an amazing mid-game item for shutting down casters. Maw is most likely going to be one of the last items you would want to upgrade to as there are other items you may want to purchase first.
Make sure you are a registered user and you will rejoin in game.
I like it but it's a shame about the CMC. I think this is the right direction for tribute though, just pushed that little bit more.
I can't wait to test him more, trying to slot another r/b general in his position just doesn't seem to work.

Now that I know GYGO has duel commander tournies I may have to finally get back in paper magic. Damn it all to hell.
They run them monthly correct?
