Someone mentions Vintage and doesn't know who Stephen Menendian is?
On a side note, unless all significant pieces are removed, a deck still has the ability to adapt and perform in an environment. Whether they succeed or not is in the construction and piloting of the deck.
Ex. Splinter Twin lost 2 significant pieces in Ponder and Preordain. They however did not lose their namesake combo. Is it as powerful as it once was? Not really. Can it still do what it was built to do? Yes.
Zoo loses 2 weapons in Wild Nacatl and Punishing Fire. Same questions apply. Is it as powerful as it once was? I would say yes. Can it still do what it was built to do? Yes
People will complain, people will cheer. But we're human, that is what we do. If Teaching's players lost Teaching's, then they would complain. I wonder how many non-Zoo players are actually lamenting this newest culling of cardboard.
I use Dark Vaporeon, Dark Jolteon, Dark Flareon, and Dark Dragonair as my main bulk tokens when they are made en masse. Token producers that make single tokens like Broodmate Dragon or Wurmcoil Engine get specialized tokens. Broodmate has a Holon Phantoms Delta Species Kingdra (Fire/Metal) and the Wurmcoil Engine makes a Neo Discovery Espeon and Umbreon as tokens. My favorite has to be the twin Misty's Gyarados that come out with my Precursor Golem. Trying to collect other random tokens for some other cards to make, such as Oona, Queen of the Fae tokens, Grave Titan tokens, and various 3/1 Elemental token makers.
Think of Spellskite as a magnet. It changes the target and pulls it towards itself. Because Lightning Bolt can target a creature, and Spellskite is a creature, it can change the target to itself. Thank god Lightning Bolt is not a modal spell.
Streamlining the mana base is one of my priorities and will come soon enough. Lord of Extinction is on my list of things to acquire Putrefax runs along the same line as Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon or Blighted Agent. They all have evasion, but I would prefer ones that plan to stick around.
Okay so this is Deck 1 of 3 that I plan on listing here for posterity.
He is a Japanese Dinosaur (well because I own a Japanese Mimeoplasm)
I don't pretend to not be a griefer when I play Commander (man it feels weird to say that), so me playing a combo deck is fine in my play groups eyes.
But enough chit chat, you want to see the deck right? (yes I'm arrogant)
Well so what if you don't, you clicked on this for a reason so here it is.
I play with what I have, and the decklist is far from perfect. There are some interactions that didn't work as well as I hoped. Any suggestions would be appreciated. There is a self mill theme and the obvious recursion theme. When I get more nonbasic lands, Hermit Druid will be better. So until then.....I've got nothing.
So we have 8 Mythic Reprints? I can't say Wizards dropped the ball on this one, cause before the Mythic rarity, we had several Core sets where reprints came and went. With that, there is the underlying issue: It is a Core set. It's normal to have reprints, so why is the idea of having reprints of cards at Mythic rarity so irksome to people? Monotony? Boredom? Greed? I'll be honest, I was the same as a decent bit of this community: I wanted a new card. We wanted a new card. Or more so than that just a new card to replace Time Reversal. We didn't get that. All be it, it won't stop those that are irritated from flaming the hell out of Wizards, but those are the breaks. Yeah of course it sucks, and and very few will play it, but hey, it could have been worse. It could have been Time Stretch.

As much as I want to play this in Azusa, with the mana production I have, the last thing I would want to do is soak a ludicrous amount of mana into it and allow my opponents to benefit. At minimum I would pay 1 or 2 and get the landfall triggers and see how much my opponents are willing to pay, knowing that I would get the immediate effects.

Believe it or not one of those is actually a guy made into a girl. I'll let you guess which one. Awesome art nonetheless.
