Hi guys! Made some changes to the deck and tried it at the FNM tonight and went 3-0-1 (tied vs UB Control).
Here's what I played. Let me tell you that Reality Shift and Weave Fate are good in this build because
the metagame at my local store is heavy on aggro decks!
I haven't post in this topic lately, but let me just tell you that these are the
60 main cards i'll be playing the first week Fate Reforged becomes legal...
PS: I know there is a small splash of black in my deck for Utter End, but it's still a UW Control deck.
* in REMOVAL, you named "un-monstrous Fleecemane Lions" in Erase instead of Glare of Heresy
* in REMOVAL, under Crippling Chill why put "We often won’t be able to reach the ferocity when it counts though"?
Well i've been testing the draw go version of UW with the splash for Utter End. A couple of things that are of interest.
First of all, Jace's Ingenuity is expensive and slow. I tested both Jace's Ingenuity and Weave Fate and to my suprise the latter actually plays a better role in this kind of deck. Even Divination outperforms the Ingenuity because it can be cast earlier and thus it smooths out draws a lot better. I have had plenty of games where i had nothing to do on turn 3-4 and desperately wanted to trade in my Jace's Ingenuity for a Divination. It now boils down to either playing Divination or Weave Fate. I'm still holding on to the draw go plan for the moment. Weave Fate has not disappointed thusfar and as long as my opponents play around my countermagic, i feel it is worth it to pay 1 mana more to draw a card at instant speed.
Another thing i've tried is Interpret the Signs. Only as a one-of this card feels like it really helps this deck go over the top. Sometimes after trading 1-for-1 with an opponent the first couple of turns you want to refill your hand and take control of the game. Interpret really has a lot of powerful cards in this deck to hit, not only the Digs, but also Elspeth, Resolute Archangel, PLA and End Hostilities make for excellent targets. Even hitting a Divination is fine. It usually means you've scryed 2 useless cards to the bottom and get to draw some more cards next turn. More testing should show if it deserves a permanent slot in the list.
In regards to Utter End; this card is good, many times it's been the perfect answer to any planeswalker and more often than not it traded with a Rakshasa Deathdealer. It does however has a pretty big drawback and thats putting black sources into the deck. I'm still not sure how the manabase should look like. I've tried adding a couple of Temples, but they tend to slow my game down too much. Having an End Hostilities or an Elspeth but not the appropiate land to cast them on time can make or break a game. Im now on the full 4 of Polluted Delta and thusfar it is better for the curve, but slightly worse on the lifepoints.
Anyway, i'm back to work and college and will try to squeeze in some playtesting wherever i can.
This is my actual UWb Control "draw-go" version. Hope this helps!
Crippling chill seems like a great card against temur since it taps down haste creatures and by the time it untaps I am sure you have cards that can answer it if need be plus you get to draw a card from it which is significant. So I am definitely not surprised to see you go 2-0 against temur and you also have devouring lights too.
One of the main reason for Chill was Stormbreath Dragon, but the more I play it, the more I like it vs anything. Oh and it cantrips too...
I personally think your list seems like a pretty good direction to go from here for uw control. I also wouldn't be surprised to see you consistently defeat boss sligh opponents with your list as well, font of vigor does seems insane there.
I gotta admit I didn't really like font of vigor at first but with boss sligh running around everywhere at every major standard tournament, font of vigor is definitely a good card to have in the board.
I also don't see any problem with beating any of the abzan lists either with your deck. So great job on the list and keep it up.
I can beat aggro and midrange quite easily, but Control was my hardest match-up, and it's why I opted for 2 Negate and Gainsay in my sb. Stupid Ashiok!
4x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy

Well a lot players here have started to play Illness in the Ranks or Virulent Plague to fight Twin decks. In this case the 3/3 is very relevant!
For me it's neither because enchantments are big were I play (gb constellation, ascendancy combo, etc) so everyone is
packing enchant removals!
This is why im slashing black, so i can have a catch-all answer with Utter End...
Banishing Light has been removed from my deck!
