Deth looks worried, but, seeing erin relax, allows his mana and summons to fade away into the aether. He does, however, keep his weapon out, and is obviously tense.
Deth winces in pain as what was a little snake suddenly became a really REALLY big snake, and he is thrown back by the attack. However, he recovers, and draws even more power to him.
Then his aura contracts and when it expands, a second knight follows a piece of black magic, which forms into the same ruin over the same creature. Deth wonders just how much magic he and the mage will spend fighting over such a simple creature.
When deth sees the attack, he directs his knight to intercept one snake coming towards himself. He then flashes his aura out to his bat, causing its claws to grow a little sharper, and directs it towards the second of the snakes coming at him. He then readies himself to take on the final snake.
Deth is thrown back by the snake, and lays on the ground for a moment, stunned, before he rolls to his feet, darkening his aura further. He grimaces, then takes a breath forcing his aura to expand, and expel a knight that looks ready to fall apart. It seems for a second deth lost control of his casting as a piece of his aura follows the knight. However the part forms a rune of the head of one of the Sakura-Tribe Scout. It then casts a dark glow, before returning to deth as the snake falls over dead.
The attacking snakes convince Deth that this summoner mage is hostile, and may have even attacked his House. He throws out a hand, and his aura contracts, becoming darker, and denser. He holds out his hands, and the snake that is moving towards Erin slows, and dies, terror written across its features.
Deth then prepares to attack the snake running at Hróðvitnir, ready to attack if it becomes weakened, or while it attacks his companion.
"This could get really bad really quickly if we cant stop swarms... I'm bad with swarms, do you guys have anything? We might have to attack, because if we just leave it this could get to big to handle..."
With that, Deth brings forth even more power, darkening his aura further. His aura then pulled in on itself, and then came outward, though it was obvious Deth was trying to lessen his auras reaction, so as not to aggravate their potential foes. As his Aura settles, two bats flop out. He grimaces, not anticipating that attempting to lessen the amplitude would have such affects...
"I must work on my stealth in the future..." he thinks to himself.
"Defend, but let us not be the first to attack. Unless costumes on this plane dictate otherwise?" Deth directs the last part towards Erin.
He then draws more power to his aura, darkening it to the almost past the point where it cold be mistaken for deep shadows. He then draws his sai, and holds it in a defensive position, across his body.
OOC:Was it cast? and if it was, could we actually detect it?
When deth hears the sound, he is put even further on edge. He draws more power, and his aura darkens a small amount, to where it is now visible in the sunlight. In a dark forest however, hes not sure. He then moves his hand towards his blade, but stops. If whatever is out there is sentient, he doesn't want to provoke it. For the same reason, he refrains from pointing it out to his fellow mages, trusting them to realize the potential danger themselves.
Realizing Hróðvitnir has finished his search, deth stops his examination. It wouldn't do to waste any more time then they already had, for the trail could go cold, in the time that was spent walking away from the portal, and then walking back. "How should we continue from here?" Turning to Erin, he asks "Do you happen to know anything about our location?"
Deth sees the trees are older, and begins to look around for the type of damage a black mage may have done. He looks for corruption in nature, unnatural weakness; signs this place had seen corruption power can make.
He also looks for signs of who could have done it, such as a piece of cloth left behind, or a broken rusty weapon. Just a quick search wont hurt he thinks to himself.
