I decided to run a 3rd martial coup instead of the Iona, I find mass removal comes in handy a lot more than Iona and I prefer consistency.

I made this exact change a few months ago. It's worked well for me.

I received one as well, except they were raffling them. Each round a random player would get one. Is yours greasy on the outsides of the inside box (if that makes sense)?

Yes, all the ones at my store, including my own, had this oil issue. It's pretty easy to wipe off at least. Some artifact of the manufacturing process.

And no, in real life, any established religion does NOT mutate rapidly. Any change a major religion would do(which would be the equivalent of these religions in MTG since whole races follow them) is minor in the overall design of the religion. In 2000 years, the major religions of our world have changes very very little.

This is false. Religion changes as rapidly as anything else in society.

For example: 2000 years ago Christianity and Islam weren't even religions. Taking Christianity, the older of that pair, as an example, you wouldn't recognize the Christian churches (plural, as religion naturally splits) of a thousand years ago, most likely, and they'd certainly not consider anything modern Christians believe as anything other than heresy. Over the course of time Christianity has splintered into dozens of different sects which believe irreconcilable things and some of which flat hate each other.

Rapid mutations take place all of the time. For simple examples, look at the history of modern offshoots such as the Church of Latter Day Saints, which are well documented.

Now, back to our discussion of a simplistic religion meant to serve as temporary flavor for a card game.

I ended up cutting her for another Martial Coup. You win a lot more games with a resolved 7-mana sorcery than a 9-mana creature. She saved my ass a few times, but the sweeper has worked more often for me and adds consistency. Plus, they still sort of count as creatures for anything other than Telemin Performance.
