I did declare it impossible that he "plays" both of them at the same time, because that's the language he used in his original post.

I did not say that them entering the battlefield at the same time was impossible. I said that yes, if they do, they see each other and trigger. I thought it was clear; my bad if it wasn't.

So if you Mass Polymorphed them in, you would get life for both.

    Thanks!

EDIT: I guess not (see below)

No, you are correct. They enter at the same time, see each other, and trigger.

If they enter the battlefield at the same time, then yes, they will see each other enter the battlefield.

Note that there is no way to cast (play) both of them at the same time to do this.

It's so slow. Our game is fine vs High Tide and Ant (we have all the counters).

I'm not sure about painter's stone, simply because I rarely run into that match, but our big problem there is going to be the 8 maindeck Red Elemental Blasts. Rootwater Thief doesn't address that problem.

We either maindeck two or zero blasts. Lately it's been zero to make room for misstep.

I have. And i simply disagree with them. But I do so appreciate the condescending manner in which both your posts were done in when I am simply putting forth my opinions and they happen to disagree with yours. That is what forums are for. You don't have to make snide remarks to defend your case.

I simply do not see Ph mana as an 'alternate' cost. as its the only cost and it never changes. Obv I would like to see an official wotc ruling but until then my friends and I will all play it the way we believe it was intended until that day.

Unfortunately, you'll be playing it incorrectly, as several of my Judge brethren have already told you. No clue why you entirely refuse to listen to the people above. The rules don't care about how you think they should work.

I also disagree with what you think this forum is for; It's for answers to rules questions, not arguing over what the rules could or should say when you've been told multiple times how they work.

I find it funny that you commit poor sportmanship, yet blame the other guy for poor sportsmanship.

It's FNM. If he forgot a trigger, you remind him so he learns and get betts at remebering stuff like that. The fact you went into strict REL 1 "I am a SERIOUS PLAYER!!" mode over an FNM game ishos a lack of sportsmanship on you part

I'm curious, did you win anything from winning the match? Because do to your actions ther is no one more person in the world who thinks you're an ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺. The world is smaller than you think, and you want to keep people who really dislike you to a minimum, cause some day you'll be in the desert and this guy will have the canteen, and then your actions will have actual repurcussions. So if you're gonna go out of your way to make new enemies, I hope you at least got some packs for it.

It's up to him whether he wants to let his opponent take back stuff; he's not automatically a jerk for not letting him. I don't know where people get this sense of entitlement, that just because they're a bad player (or inexperienced, or whichever) they get to take stuff back, and if their opponent won't let them they're at fault. They're YOUR triggers. YOU are responsible for playing your deck and winning the game, not your opponent. If you forget things you shouldn't, it's on you to make sure you stop doing it.

His opponent committed textbook Unsporting Conduct - Minor, and at Competitive REL this would result in a warning. If continued it would be upgraded depending on how he acted. At Regular, this equates to a stern talking to by the judge or TO responsible.

It's really not that hard to not be a jerk.

Why is nobody using Tectonic Edge? Seems like an auto 4-of in a mono-colored deck to punish greedy manabases, defend against manlands, etc.

I've since gutted this list and the remains of my Karrthus deck (as well as several new cards) to build Glissa, but I'll definitely keep commenting and help others with decks like this.

I don't know how to feel about Blightsteel Colossus. On one hand, the creature just klls someone in one hit most of the time. On the other, it's a lot like Emrakul, Kokusho, and other not-fun cards that just cause people to fight over one card an entire game. Also, if I got hit wth [c]Bribery[c] and died to Blightsteel Colossus, I'd immediately cut the card in anger.

I hate Decimator Web. It's definitely worse than the clasp and engine because you should be running planeswalkers. There are also a lot of decks you really don't want to mill.

Septic Rats is definitely better at the 3 spot than Ichor IMO. It's going to come into play as a 3/3 99% of the time which is much better than an Arc Trail target that coughs up a poison counter. Ichor Rats isn't bad, it's just not the right choice. I'm sleeving up the deck today and hope to have some testing done on Wednesday. I need to see if 22 land and 4 dorks can support 3 Skittles or if i should drop one in favor of Hand of the Praetors #4. Im almost always gonna want to play the haste mana on skittles and getting to 6 mana might not be consistent enough to see a second Dragon most games.

Septic Rats will never come into play as a 3/3 without Hand of the Praetors in play. It has a "When Septic Rats attacks" trigger on the p/t pump.

I'm building a similar deck inspired by your list. Thanks for posting it.

You have a lot of awesome combos I've used in nonEDH decks and. I'm wondering do you ever have problems getting the combos together? Also what are the biggest obstacles or bad matchups you've encountered with this deck?

With the high volume of tutors and card draw, the deck is generally consistent enough. It has problems with decks that can tuck Skithiryx and then counter everything you try to do. Combo decks like Arcum or Zur can also stop you before you get your general out to kill them, but most other decks get slaughtered.

    Thanks for the response.

What do you think of the infect cards in
mirrodin besieged? Out of all of them I think inkmoth nexus would fit well in here.

The land is great, for sure. I'm more excited about it for standard, but it'll definitely come in here too.

As someone who's run this deck (and stopped running it bc, well yeah... it's too good), you need Hatred. Other than your general, it's the best card in the deck.

I planned on adding it when I could find one, since I can't order anything currently. Although now I might gut this deck to make Glissa.

I will say - go with both nightmare lash and strata sycthe. With urborg out, your creature will get massive, not that you needed it - but you'll win on the spot.

Strata Scythe doesn't work that way. They have to have the same name, not type. Nightmare Lash, on the other hand, is awesome.

    Good to know.

Diabolic intent might work well with your sac fodder. How has sudden spoiling worked out for you?

I've been wondering if Diabolic intent was worth running, and it probably is.

Sudden Spoiling is an amazing card, and I would run it in any EDH deck that can run black cards. It's saved me so many times, and it's a great political card.

Needs Swamp Mosquito Ive killed someone with it before, because he couldnt deal with it when I played it turn 2
Also Snake cult initiation makes your non poisons hit for 3 posion

every bad infect card even vector asp they count as general damage so why not? and most esential is serpent generator
you should also run every black pump badmoon and death pit offerings ,all of em you can get your grubby paws on, as long as your at it endless scream is better than howl when your general has regeneration, (even if it doesnt have a cute little baby being eaten on it)

also i think cards like exsenguinate are amazing as long as you dont run so many crap land, cabal coffers , urborg, thawing glaciers, vesuva, thats it

Diluting your deck with bad cards just because they have infect is an awful strategy. I use my general and proliferate as win cons in a basically mono black control deck; there's no reason to run worthless cards like Swamp Mosquito, Snake Cult Initiation, or Serpent Generator. The mosquito does nothing and doesn't even work with pump spells like the good infect creatures, and enchantments like snake cult initiation just open you up to being 2-for-1'd by any removal.

I used to run Bad Moon, and it did almost nothing. Any piece of equipment is better, and never helps your opponents (at least not by just being out, they could obviously steal it). And Death Pit Offering is garbage.

Are you saying Cabal Coffers, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth etc are crap lands? If so, you have literally no idea what you're talking about.

    I like it!

I'm looking to get in to EDH.

Mono black is my favorite type of deck to play. How does this deck do usually? Does it win a lot?

I don't know very much about EDH so I'm curious.

I'd say I've won the majority of games I've played with it. It's nuts in 1v1, but I play mostly 4 player FFA games.

If you're going for a contamination lock, I highly recommend Reassembling Skeleton and Bloodghast. Both are also ridiculous with Skullclamp.

I do run the skeleton, and Bitterblossom.
