here's the link aaron forsythe sent out on twitter

    http://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/u25wo/cavern_of_souls_and_you_official_ruling_has/

Someone posted a question that seems kinda relevant though: For sake of argument, what happens if you want to use Cavern to play a creature, but (for whatever reason) you still want your creature to be counterable (to bait a counterspell or something)? I guess you have to just not tap the cavern...and if you have too, and it's a creature type that you named, your beat?

Not to derail, but CFB will take a while on preorders. I preordered with them for WWK and had a very bad experience. It took me almost a full month after release for them to ship because they were trying to buy the cards off of players to fill my order (even after they sent me an email saying the order shipped). And they were junk rares even!

I have ordered non preorders and I wouldn't hesitate to do so again, but preordering I won't

I had a great experience with them when I preordered cards (mirrodin besieged) I got my cards almost immediately.

I think their prices have gotten a lot higher in the past 6-8 months (for preorders and non preorders), but I think your incident was pretty isolated.

I'm done with preordering though. I'd have to check my account information to be sure, but I believe the only card that was worth it was Inkmoth Nexus (I paid $5 or $6). The rest I'm pretty sure have dropped since then. (I owed my friend some cards at the time so he told me to just order Thrun for him --- at the price of $18.....)

Eh, we can play Path, Engineered Explosives, Ensnaring Bridge, Firespout, Wrath/Day. Honestly, I think this is a silly conversation...

Cryptic command is another casualty of the ban list. 4cmc cards in control decks just aren't good enough without chrome mox to power them out a turn early. Every expensive card in your deck must be something that is going to win you the game, or radically change the board state.

As for blade splicer....why? Vendilion clique should be the fist creature considered then possibly trinket mage after that. I don't think I would run a non-artifact creature beyond those two.

The Rav block signets can power it out a turn early. It's no chrome mox lol, but just throwing that out there.

If CC is going to be run at all, I'd imagine its no more than a 2 of.

In addition, I have been considering Blade Splicer in the main deck for some reason...I forgot exactly why but I can say I do like the idea initially

I can't imagine ever wanting to cast Blade Splicer in this deck. You'd have to convince me.

That is like telling someone to only buy foil cards. They are pretty to look at, but when it comes down to it they don't do any more than a non-foil one.

A new PC is worth the same as 8 pieces of cardboard for a reason...

Playsets of them both are worth as much as a new PC.

Hello, I'm trying to build good modern decks because this seems like the next big thing, I originally settlesd on Zoo, but with the new bannings most likely many people will think like me and start buying Zoo staples. Should I buy Tarmogoyf ASAP before they shoot up to ridiculous new highs or the demand isn't as great to make them much more expensive? There's also the possibility of seeing it banned, which would suck, but it won't drop too much because of Legacy playability. Same with Grove of the Burnwillows

Playsets of them both are worth as much as a new PC so I must be sure before taking out the MasterCard.

I'm not an expert or anything, but I'd imagine buying Goyfs is fine, but I also don't think your HAVE to buy them now bc they are going to shoot up in price. IDK about grove...i don't think i'd touch that card unless i'm paying like 10-12 and I really needed to play with it. All in all, if you don't plan on actually playing in any modern tournaments soon, i'd just wait on both.

Also, buy a mac. The extra money is worth it.

I was just kinda throwing out thoughts on the other list because it's the only one I've tested. I've never played with gifts before so IDK if I could choose the piles well enough to properly pilot your list...can you go into a little more detail?

Since I'm not used to running this deck, I'm gonna start with something similar to the first page so that I can start getting a feel for it.

I'm sure it's not perfect, so if anyone has any basic suggestions, please let me know before I start testing/practicing. I just played a few games and wow is this deck hard to pilot...seriously. Probably the hardest deck I've ever tried using.

I've read through all 9 pages and really like the look of the deck. What happens if they cast Memoricide for Tez though? Reoccur Pyrite Spellbomb over and over? Wouldn't an eggs deck be better at that?

I guess I'm UN-educated because I haven't played this deck personally but the plan is to wipe the board turn 4, stall somehow until you can build up a presence (of what?) and then drop a Tezzeret with any empty board again? So that requires multiple board wipes against aggro. What about control? They V Clique turn 3, then sit on counters for your Tezzeret.

I'm just curious of some normal game playthroughs If possible.

Well the version I was running (shell I posted a few pages back) also ran ethersworn canonist...which surprisingly does work. I pretty easily got my opponent playing 1 threat a turn which was so easy to deal with. With 2 academy ruins and the card advantage of thirst, it was pretty easy. I could discard an artifact and get it back later. When they are playing 1 threat a turn and u have explosives and shackles and removal, etc...it's not an issue. Being able to recur canonist was pretty clutch as well...I'd assume that's why slipknot wants batterskull...granted it's better at beating down but I think I'd prefer slowing my opponent down. Maybe a single colonnade wouldn't hurt.

I wasn't running expedition map or crucible, so maybe that's why he has academy as a 1 of.

I believe he has like 11 artifacts where I had more like 19-20. I don't know whose "right". But I definitely like having a bunch of them. It made thirst so powerful. When I say I, I mean the list I posted from the daily with my changes. I like aspects of both these decks.

O and I really liked ensnaring bridge. And I liked having -0 targets for tezz, tho they probably weren't necessary.

I thought those were the safest bets that we sorta agreed upon in this thread.

We did. The only people who are complaining (in general, not necessarily on this forum) are people who paid top dollar for cards they shouldn't have. If your not playing in a big payout tournament, idk why anyone would do that, but websites keep eating em up so I'll keep sellin them I guess. Anyways, we've all made bad investments, it just so happens that with modern you really need to be paying attention. Most cards that spiked should have been sold weeks ago. I personally kept stuff like academy ruins, shackles, gifts, blue shocks, knights, cryptics, bobs, chalice of void, etc

Are there any bigger Modern tournaments coming up? Also these bans don't begin until October 1st, right? So daily results are somewhat worthless?

Investing long term no, but short term quick flips for cash has been pretty amazing for me thanks to this forum.

Also, everything you guys are saying true, but it's all things we knew already.

Is living end definitely worth picking up under $2?

*Edit* Under $2 is actually a little tough bc a lot of places don't have full playsets...but regardless, what kinda of price is worth it? Also, what is Eggs?

So what would the UW Tezzerator shell look like...what are auto includes? I'm still learning this deck. Basically I wanna do some more testing on lackey, and I also want to start picking up cards that I'm fairly certain I'm going to use.
