I like the idea of trying Confidant.

The problem is that its cons, besides the ones you pointed out, also include not working on exile spells, Wrath/Damnation, -N/-N effects. There is a large portion of the most played removal spells that aren't affected by it.

It's not just the extra black mana, it'll always be card disadvantage and it's not good when you are holding only a couple of cards.
Not saying it's not an interesting card, but it has it's downsides. I'll try it in FoF slot, which I still run.

Anyone has experience with the energy Demon? I had him one game but it wasn't relevant.

Yeah, we have greater cmcs than power/toughness.

Played Breya a little bit and didn't like that you need access to the whole 4 colors to be able to use her as a sink. It's cool that she can put herself in the grave to stop the loop but it forces you to cast her.
Also, had a game where I could go infinite but someone had the white Leyline so I couldn't kill him, which Tasigur gets around by drawing our whole library.

Excavation seems interesting, but I think I rather have Windfall as it also disrupts everyone else, can gain card advantage and combos with Notion Thief.

My first thoughts on the idea:

I feel that Grixis and Sultai are the best shards for reanimator, and since Breya means leaving green behind it makes sense to look at it as Grixis plus white. So what does white give to Grixis?

Unburial Rites -> Nice but expensive aaand we we're looking into cutting reanimation spells
Spot removal -> Green has decent options in this regard, Grixis can get by relying on bounce
Loyal Retainers -> not so good without Survival
Elesh -> Nice, but not mandatory because we have Leviathan
Iona -> I can see naming White in my group due to Abzan, Esper and Mardu decks to get it Submerged by Edric
Ashen Rider -> Nice but it's basically just removal.

When I tried Grixis reanimator I liked the wheels+Thief and Kiki/Exarch as finishers. Getting acess to Kiki combo is cool because it can be used in a way that ignores gravehate but it isn't a plus in Breya because she isn't required for that kill.

Because of all this I would prefer to add red/white to bug or white/green to grixis.

But Breya has potential that comes mainly as an outlet for the Dragon combo, which grixis or 5 color lacks.

She could be viable so I will try to give it a test.

Looks like it has haste and at the end of each player's turn, if no creatures attacked this turn, put a "fury" counter on this, then this deals damage equal to the number of fury counters on it to that player.

    This is correct.

You need another permanent as well to loop the two of them, which makes the combo less likely to happen. But it is indeed interesting.

Also, duals are on the reserved list while Drain is not. It'll probably be in the next Eternal Masters.

Played for the first time in a while and got a cool win in one of the games. Had Tas and Rune Scarred in play under Animate Dead, Palinchron, Frantic Search, Mystical and Dance of the Dead in hand. Eot loot Chron away and get Evolution at the same time using Mystical.
My turn Evolution Tas into Tydespout, cast Dance of the Dead on Chron, bouncing Animate Dead. 1 mana floating and the trigger untaps 6 lands.
Cast Animate Dead on Rune Scarred, bounce Dance. 5 mana floating.
Cast Dance on Chron, 3 floating, untap 6.
Repeat to get infinite mana ftw.

I was always trying to get infinite from Tydespout and two rocks and finally realized there's another way. After that I realized we only need the reanimation aura for Chron and any permanent that costs at least one less than the lands we have (mana rock, creature even) to go infinite, which is way easier to achieve.
I know you don't play Tydespout but my love for him has been reignited with the printing of Evolution so I thought I could share this cool line that got me a win after a long while without playing Magic.

Since the deck is majorly mono color it'll end up producing the most needed color most of the time.

Regarding the cut, any consideration to Exhume?

Not having creatures I meant reanimate targets, for the sac and reanimate again line.

We'll have to wait a couple more weeks for the new cards, I'm curious as well. There are multiple color combinations that we could be interested in.

What are the pros/cons to including Living Death back in to this list? Could it be slotted in if the group you play against is slower/grindy, or would require a reworking of the deck in some capacity?

Nah, it can be easily be slotted back in. It can even double as mass removal if needed. It only sucks if your opponents are restricting your mana or have ways to dump Duplicant effects in the grave at instant speed. Otherwise is a decent, but not stellar, card. While it is better if you're going for quantity, being able to get the combo at once is good. I cut mine but was never too disappointed with it.

Yeah, I was expecting that from Morbid but afraid of the times we don't have a creature. I feel the same as you about the reanimation spells, which I also want to cut to the minimum. But if you cut them you'll make Morbid a little bit worse. Something to keep in mind.

Why cut a mox for another mana source? You'll end up with the same amount of mana sources.

I liked Spell Pierce as well. Storm seems interesting and something I would like to run. Did you try it here or only in your other decks?
I'm intrigued by discard since I saw moxnix running it and it seems good in his videos, but in those he faces a random meta in mtgo. I think they could underperform in certain defined metas.

The moxes are in a total different power level, so I would only add other rocks after them (and Ring/Crypt obviously)

Yep, I continue to approve the use of those rocks, go for Diamond as well.

I run him and Dimir Signet to get infinite colored mana. I've been trying that route since he is a good EE target, but haven't played much lately so I can't confirm how good he is.

Whenever we have an extra reanimate in hand.
Yeah, trying new things is always cool Smile I wouldn't try the shapeshifter if you hadn't mentioned it.
