So I'm a fairly new competitive player, and after getting into drafting and doing that for a while, I ended up getting an urge to try constructed, and worked towards together a crude version of this deck. I'm really enjoying it, not to mention I have a huge soft spot for this archetype as it's my first real deck.
That being said, here's my current decklist which I feel is a mess compared to the lists I've been seeing in here; among other things, I especially feel like I'm playing cards no one is using, or not at least anymore, and sideboarding is a concept that still eludes me.
opened 6 SoM this morning, first pack was Elspeth Tirel and the second had Koth of the Hammer. Not too amazing, but definitely one of the best booster cracking experiences I've had
I got two packs of SoM for Christmas in my stocking--pulled a Foil Hand of the Praetors and a Koth of the Hammer! Yeeha!
Merry Christmas everyone!
Sounds a lot like my Christmas! Got 6 packs from SoM, pulled the foil Hand of the Praetors and the Koth, along with Elspeth, Molten Psyche, Hoard-Smelter Dragon, and Prototype Portal
Yes, I was indeed fortunate and got 7 rares/mythics in 6 packs
At the end of the M11 draft I went to last night, the store owner gave out a few random prizes. I won what he called a "prototype" or "blank back"; his description being that it they are test version of the card from when the set was being developed. The card itself is Uncontrollable Anger from kamigawa. It is signed by the artist on the front and in near mint condition. I was wondering if these sorts of cards would be worth any money, and if anyone had any experience with these cards.
Thanks for any help!
edit: after reading a pm, I realized even though i called it a blank back i never described what it actually looked like. my apologies; it's a normal card on the front, with a blank white back
I went mill in my draft last night, and I feel its definitely feasible if you're not awful at drafting like I am (it was my third draft and i'm still learning how to draft smart). I ended up UWB because of my mistakes of not drafting a good creature base and not focusing on staying on color. Like mollusk said, tome scours are the life blood of the deck. 4 of those and an erasure are what won me my games, and a smarted drafter and player than I could definitely perform well with mill in m11
I don't know much about what else green has to offer landfall wise other than woodcrasher baloth and grazing gladeheart, but oracle of mul daya would be very neat in a landfall deck
Ha, the draft I went to last night was zendikar, and this guy made a blue mill deck similar to yours. The main difference was he had gotten a couple living tsunamis, and so once he dropped them with his crabs people's decks just disappeared.
