Well for a 5cmc cost I'd rather play a batterskull seeing as batterskull is amazing.
The golems really suck against delver since they just eat snaps all day and taking a bolt to the face and losing major tempo isn't fun at all. Not to mention that virtually everything in delver flies or is unblockable.
I loved the golems back in RUG seeing as it was golden playing them on turn 3 and smacking your opponent with some major damage. Playing them on turn 5 in any deck especially control is underwhelming in the meta. I want it to be a good card but it just isn't.
This doesn't look fake at all! Not only does it have perfectly imbalanced abilities and a mana cost unfitting for those abilities but it also has the worst name I've ever heard given to a planeswalker ever! I mean really.. the -1 ability is insane and giving her +2 for the same ability her former self had only giving her +1 for a 5 mana cost...
The deck pretty much wins on attrition and games usually take a long, long, long time to finish. It's kind of obvious what the goal of the deck is. Cast Chandra, protect Chandra, play spells. The most rewarding spell you can cast is obviously Sorin's Vengeance. It flat out wins you the game if resolved. Smallpox is also a very key card in the deck. It takes advantage of them playing creatures and you not playing creatures. Double cast Smallpox with Chandra for more fun and annoyance! A deck like this is pure fun and can win out some games against Tier one decks like U/B or U/W. The only problem this deck faces is Planeswalkers and fast aggro decks like tempered steel and RDW. All around it's a great deck to play and it really gives you a "bloodmage" type feel.
Why do you think baloth never sees play? It's due to the fact that it easily dies to removal such has GftF doomblade and O-ring. It's a 4/5 body for 3g, thats a great investment. You know whats better then a 4/5 body for 3g? A creature that does something and creatures that create a 2 for 1. Thrinax was the best 3 drop due to the fact it has the potential to come back in 1/1 tokens when it dies. You can have a x/x for 3 body but it will die to removal. If it doesn't congratulations it wins you the game a couple turns earlier then a non killed baloth. Both are decent cards that won't see play in standard due to the fact of them not being 2-1 creatures and for the fact that it does not win you the game as fast as the average RDW creature package. This card will not be good against valakut nor splinter-twin either. Valakut will ramp up to primeval by the time you hit him for 6. Splintertwin is a little bit more slower if not lucky. However; they run into the roil, mana leaks and if they play a side colour of white or black expect to see removal in the deck as well. I'd rather play skinshifter then this card due to the fact of skinshifter being more versatile for its low mana cost. TL;DR you're overpraising a decent card in casual games that will become a 3$ mythic in 2 weeks.
I feel kinda cheated that blue got 2 mythic reprints while all the rest of the colours only had a titan reprint. They could have done so much more but they had to reprint one of the most jankiest mythics to date.
I really have to say combust, it kills nearly everything in the deck. Lightning bolt is a champ in this match so adding a bolt that deals 5 damage and can't be countered seems like a fair deal for one more mana. It kills baneslayers, caws, mystics and colonnades.
So far I'm 9-1 (18-5-0) with this deck. I'm trying out 4 Inferno's since they just wreck boros to no recovery and messes up Caw-blade something fierce. The Golems are just awesome, your opponent has to get rid of them or they're in some pain next turn. I'm finding Oracle of Mul Daya underwhelming; I might just be getting unlucky with the card but more land doesn't equal game win against caw-blade. Combusts are great hate cards vs. caw-blade (5 out of the 8 players in my meta were caw-blade so this is a good meta choice for me).
First round was against a rogue mono white life gain deck. Crushed him with turn 4 Inferno Titan first game. Played out three cobra's on turn three and a turn for Avenger of Zendikon for kicks.
Second round was against U/W Shape anew. First I just bolted his Myr tokens that Shape anew targeted or just mana leaked the shape anew and swept across with Frost Titan. Second game was just a huge waste of time, no one drew anything and what we did drew we countered. I eventually resolved a Jace and Kept his bombs at the bottom of his deck.
Third round was against a traditional U/W deck. I got really lucky in the two rounds, he got land screwed and I resolved turn three Jace in to a turn four titan both times.
Fourth round was against mono white tempered steel. First game he only played on a contested war zone all through out the match with two Memnites and a Signal Pest out. I just swung with a cobra and took his only land then slagstorm on turn three; he then proceeded to not draw land and scooped. Second game he over extended in to 3 Memnites a Signal pest and a contested war zone turn one. Next turn I took ten damage top decked a pyroclasm and wiped his board. He couldn't recover and it was good game.
Fifth round was against Caw-Go (I'd like to note that out of everyone who made it to the top four, I was the only one not using that bloody deck.) First round was pretty stupid on my part. I got the play and got out a turn two Lotus Cobra. He played a Mystic and tutored a MnB. Having nothing to play but leaks and titans I played a land and passed. He played a land and passed keeping three open. If I played a titan it would be countered if I didn't he would tutor in a sword, me being the genius that I am I thought Inferno Titan can kill something with 4 toughness so I let him sneak in a sword. Next turn he equipped played a hawk and swung. By then I realized how much of an idiot I was and tried my best to burn him out with playing Inferno Titans and bolts; it didn't work. Second game Turn two lotus, turn three resolved Garruk, Turn four resolved Inferno Titan. Turn five resolved Jace, I win. The last game was just unbearable to play out. I kept a six card hand with 4 lands, a bolt and a Jace. Then throughout the game I only drew a Cobra with a lot of land. I proceeded to get my face beat in by a hawk with a sword in its mouth and me calling myself an idiot.
Long story very short; anyone have tech to have a better chance at Caw-Go?
