On the other hand, once people find out what's in the set, boxes may go for $400. That's what Worldwake is going for now. So leaving aside Jace and Goyf, do you think the remaining cards in Modern Masters are going to be worth more or less than the remaining cards in Worldwake? Now imagine what a box of Modern Masters will be worth.

Most people don't do the math when buying boxes either. The amount of time and effort it takes to turn around a box is rarely factored into the profit they make. You generally make less than minimum wage.
I voluntarily will be "missing out" on this set, because yea, my $140 box might get me $170 worth of cards, but the cards only have that value if I can sell them. And do you know how hard it is to profitably move bunches of $3-$5 cards?
If you want to think of your magic as a money maker, at least do it right.

I agree with most of your post, but a 4 CMC counter isn't so hot against fast aggro, especially on the draw. Control can go Farseek -> Verdict and survive, because that's proactive, but a reactive Farseek -> Counter leaves everything still on the board, and you'll be taking at least 6 because of it.
Alright now, I'm pretty forgiving with card designs. But this is just bad. It should be Mythic, just so there are fewer of them in existence. Because this is a card I just never want to see. I mean, it even has a chance of killing itself. With nothing on the board, there's only a 33% chance it will be beneficial. If your opponent has a creature you need to kill, we're down to a 25% chance of it being decent, 50% of it not being a drawback.
This card is just....bad. Come on, I'm pretty sure even Izzet folks aren't going to like this.
I'm a fan of unified platform promos. I really hope that they manage to keep a little bit better control on them, I was miffed that people kept just printing the codes and cashing in.
With Wizards' recent track record of promos, it probably won't matter because it or they will be bad cards anyway.
Oh yea, Farseek, Pillar of Flame, Searing Spear, Reliquary Tower, a full art EDH general....yeah those were just TERRIBLE. Oh yeah, we also had All is Dust, Prime Time, Goblin Guide. And let's not even talk about those Judge promos. I'd hate to be a Judge right now, the **** they're getting. I mean who wants a Crucible of Worlds? Not even a competitive card!

All my EDH decks fit in UltraPro deckboxes (especially the horizontal ones, which seem to be a little larger).
Now, 100 double sleeved cards is a different story- you pretty much need a shoebox for that

And it doesn't fit in one of their horizontal deckboxes.
Which deck box, exactly, are you using? And which sleeves?
Unless you are using perfect fits, I quite frankly don't think that's possible without just cramming the deck in there.
