what i meant by the refer to text thing was that glamerdye says change an instance of a "color word" (not symbol) while magical hack says land type (which hypothetically might change symbols but doesnt i think) sorry for the wording

i have a friend who wants to change mana symbols of spells with magical hack in order to counter them. this is bogus, please explain why as i have found no similar queries on the net thus far

he claims the argument with glamerdye is invalid because magical hack does not specify text

    or maybe im wrong, :p

you guys are probably underestimating him, yea he may not go in to the quest deck, but the little guy has potential

the artifact thing and myr thing both go well for him

some sort of blue white artifact deck with grand architect?

i run a very similar deck to the op's deck. it's casual so i threw in bloodbraid elf x4 but other than that, it is standard

i actually use birds of paradise and llanowar elves as mana excel. the deck doesn't have a lot of one drops, so may as well get fairly consecutive turn 2 awakening zone, as well as earlier predators and hatchers. it just doesnt seem to lose any speed

i sideboard furnace celebration, way cooler than pyroclasm in this deck, the spawn have their own mini built in sac engine and the colorless mana can be used towards the cost of activating since it's a mana ability and doesnt use the stack. bam, sac a token and pay one mana to make a shock

rapacious one is a winning more card, not necessary at all. by the time he recovers from his summoning sickness, the spawn he makes start their summoning sickness, and you realize that you probably could have won the game a turn or two earlier if he was just an overrun spell (garruck or awakening zone in this case)

broodwarden is in my pile of cards i ordered off the internet, then decided i did not love. too slow, no evasion on your tokens, plus making your guys 2/2's is meh

Quest for Renewal because normally damage wears off, but not the -1/-1 counters, so a cheap vigilance like effect is pretty awesome

or maybe momentous fall, after combat damage and a resolved pump spell, losing a creature who is normally 1/1 and drawing like 4 cards

Irresistible Prey maybe stretching it there...

    Quote from Vampfail
People were running emerge unscathed. But there are so many more creatures in the WW Quest deck and they all cast for 0-2, that it isn't really as important as you would think.

hmm i see your point. anybody think blue white could do okay? it'll slow it down a bit so it might not be worth it, but thrummingbirds could add counters pretty good and mana leaks or whatever can save you midgame, if your early game doesnt pan out celestial colonnade could even help you out

a lot of the builds i've seen so far would be better with brave the elements, i know there are the memnites and ornithopters that don't get the protection with this, and it doesn't protect your equip, but it still has enough utility for an include. artifact hate won't be as big as people think it will be, creature removal will still be the norm.

i gotta say i get lucky with the opening hand or early game quests. i don't know how much steam it will have without that. still i think this deck will compete decently

    yea it works like this:

for every five token set points you get one of the new textless cards plus an older textless card

for every 20 foil points you get a foil textless

and the mailing times are now right before every set is released, so if you didn't get anything a week or so before worldwake released, then you won't get anything untill a week or so before rise of the eldrazi drops.

i hope tuk-tuk himself is a card in roe, i want my goblin construct!

    wizards:
The Tuktuk tribe's leader is not exactly a goblin. A goblin explored deep into an ancient ruin, where he triggered an ancient magical rune-trap that instantly killed and then, bizarrely, replicated him. This replica possessed fragmented memories as well as fragmented commands from the magic that animated it, but the two sets of experiences proved incompatible. The replication process aborted, leaving a stone body that mostly looked like a goblin.

The construct managed to return to its home. His name, "Tuktuk," taken from an obscure goblin concept related to bravery, took on new meaning based on the ticking sound emanating from his body. It was obvious to the rest of his tribe that he had brought something amazing back from the ruins, and his physical strength was clearly amplified. As such, the tribe made him chief, and he has been leading them for fifty years—much longer than an average goblin's natural lifespan, and nearly five times the length of an average goblin's actual lifespan.
