Opened 2 cases. The most notable spoils were as follows:

    6 Sarkhan
    3 Sorin
    4 of the clone mythic
    7 Surrak Dragonclaw
    48 Fetchlands (9 U/B, 11 U/W, 11 R/G, 10 W/G, 7 R/B) [not including foils]
    3 Foil U/W Fetch
    1 Foil U/B Fetch
    1 Foil Treasure Cruise

As far as the spread. I got 1 planeswalker per box at least (either Sarkhan or Sorin but usually Sarkhan). I got 4 Fetches most boxes (3 in 2, 5 in 2 but mostly 4) and then I got 1 Surrak or Impersonator per box (for the most part i only ended up with 11 of those combined)

So im curious. Everyone has talked about goyf and modern with this but what about modern/legacy fish. If fish doesn't have a 4/4 by turn 4 it probably lost anyway.. so for fish this can delay the w.o.g one turn. And then counter it forever after turn 4...

Awesome yeah I have thought of building something similar myself. It playtests well and most of my group doesn't hate me for it Grin

Don't know which general to go with but the best way to take advantage of Elesh Norn is by using her abilities to the fullest.

    Lets look at these then:
+2/+2 to all creatures you control.
-- Clearly this means to use this to its fullest we would want to Have a lot of creatures. Most likely tokens since we have access to white.

-2/-2 To all creatures your opponents control.
-- Here is where we look into other colors.
-- How about something like Polymorphist's Jest which becomes a Wrath of God with Norn out. (Since you can't regenerate -x/-x deaths), Turn to Frog obviously same boat becomes removal for Indestructible or Undying or Persist or 'Comes back from graveyard' effects.

Last issue: Getting it into play.
-- Clearly reanimate things come into play here. You want to search library and chuck an elesh norn into the yard. Then you want to be able to return it. So this means adding black. BUT the black stuff is obvious.
-- The real gem here is the blue. Since you are running mostly tokens you can actually make this a Polymorph deck. Polymorph Mass Polymorph and even Jalira, Master Polymorphist these cards will let you get Elesh Norn or the other big fat fatties you would run (eldrazi, darksteel, blightsteel, etc) for the cost of one of the little 1/1 tokens you likely have on field.

The above would make you an Esper UWB deck.

So maybeErtai, the Corrupted a bit dickish but hey you have all these tokens lying around why not counter ***** with them.

    Or possibly Oloro, Ageless Ascetic

I wonder if we will get a set of Shards-esque trilands like Savage Lands etc.

Its not inconceivable its just that he did say that they never expected fetches to jump like that. Seems odd that they would have already planned to reprint the fetches BEFORE they were useful.

I'm still a bit impressed with the certainty that people draw this conclusion based on:

Aaron Forsythe: Yeah. I mean, they did take off kind of out of the blue it felt like. Pretty recently. And obviously our turnaround time on doing anything is not instantaneous. So any plans that we have to put more fetchlands out there will take some time to execute on. But we are definitely aware of, you know, what cards people need to build decks to play Modern and what cards they're after. So we are going to do what we can.

If you read my next line I go on to explain that Forsythe openly admitted that M15 nad KoT were both already done which means (since Forsythe admitted to not knowing we would need the fetches so badly) that there is no room for them without emergency override before M16

99.9% chance this is wrong. Aaron Forsythe said we COULD NOT get fetches before m16. They didn't expect Modern Masters to drive up the price so much so there was no plan to print EITHER set of fetches. Aaron in the interview said they would almost certainly print the fetches (both sets) again eventually but that it couldn't be before M16 because the next sets (M15 and KOT) were already done and planned.

Gatheringmagic: Big question is - Fetchlands. People are complaining about these in Modern and you did such a great job with the shocklands reprints that the availability is everywhere. People can't complain about getting their shocklands; if you don't have your shocklands, you're not prepare for the format. But fetchlands? People didn't quite see that. Is it the same thing for you guys? Did you not see this happening? The demand of Modern? And eventually I'm sure that we are going to get one, if you don't want to say when, is this a concern for you guys?

Aaron Forsythe: Yeah. I mean, they did take off kind of out of the blue it felt like. Pretty recently. And obviously our turnaround time on doing anything is not instantaneous. ^^ Goes on to explain that M15 and KoT were both already planned out and done which means the next available set for fetches would be m16

What about the new ajani.. 3 +1/+1 counters per turn and since you are taking extra turns getting 3/5 of a turn for free seems good.

Dryad Arbor wants to play! Granted you only untap one land so that makes it a little meh but still wouldn't you prefer that one land to be a 1/1 creature if you have no spells in hand ? Grin

I may have missed it but I'm seeing very little Kiora, the Crashing Wave she fogs one creature and allows extra lands to be played? She seems like the perfect card for this deck.

Essentially this deck takes advantage of the heroic aspects of Agent/Tormented/Fabled while also using the Double Strike amazingness fencing and fabled.
In play testing on MTGO, the deck seems to be doing quite well against most of the current standard decks.

It is really fun to have an agent out and they try to remove it and you gods willing or boon of erebos to not only save your creature but get rid of one of theirs.
The explosiveness of fabled hero is also just absurd. It is not uncommon to play fabled turn 3 then turn 4 give it orzhov and gods willing for pro green or blue.
Then you are zipping right past their green reach or blue flyer with a 5/5 double strike life linker for a 20 life swing.

The turn 4 win out of nowhere with fabled is also really nice. Turn 1-2 lands, turn 3 fabled, turn 4, dark favor + boon of erebos + gods willing (won't work against black due to enchant)
Swing with 10/6 double strike with absolutely no warning or response. [Obviously uncommon due to the high number of cards required]

    Opponents with low creature count:
Agent keeps board cleared through enchants/boon/gods/orzhov heroic triggers while other creatures bring the beats.

    Burn:
Fabled Hero gets there by protecting it with boon/gods until its big enough to survive burn. (gift of orzhov keeps you alive long enough to get there)

    Control:
This one I've had some trouble with it can be difficult if they counter all your double strikers.

    Tokens:
Bile blight sideboard helps out a lot with this but other than that the Gift of Orzhov just gets one of the double strikers there.

    Dredge:
The explosiveness of this deck usually gets an early win before dredge goes off too much.
I have won turn 4 a few times.
    Thoughts?
Any ideas for an alternative to Tormented Hero?

Any ideas for a better choice than Dauntless Onslaught? I just love the multi-target major pumps for double strike or removal via agent.

Any ideas over fencing ace? I really like having the second double striker for heavy removal decks or control but at the same time he can sometimes feel very underwhelming.

    Thoughts from my friend:

When has a "God Book" ever been found??
When have they EVER spoiled an entire set all at once (accidental or not)?
Why would they ever print a Colorless Planeswalker that is that good.

These facts + many others = Mirrodin really won. Wizards are trolling us and faking this set.

Take from this what you will but it does seem odd Wink
