its a really cool combo but at the same time makes for really lame scenarios. i hope FNM doesn't become who can get the first infinite fireball or chimera off first.
I had Grave Titan as a 2 of in a Jund list I ran for the M11 Games Day and FNM the previous night. I got him out about 75% of the games I played and except for 2 of those games I won.
Unless you're at a serious board disadvantage, Grave Titan will win you the game unless unanswered.
why not run Prophetic Prism instead of Courier Capsule? Even thought it draws one less, it filters all the colorless mana from your nonbasics into blue so you're never short on blue mana.
Why not playing one or two Whispersilk Cloack?
Lich can still take its Path to Exil or Condemn in its Teeth.
An idea: Everflowing Chalice? Faster equipement, faster Persecutor, mucher easier to play an equipement you gone take with Stoneforge, etc...
I think I would prefer 4 DoJ then using the 3 ORing. If the problem is Planeswalker, after DoJ and lich on table, it wont be a problem anymore
I think subbing one Sword for a Whispersilk is a great idea. It gives you more options when tutoring with Mystic. I don't think Chalice is necessary at all. There aren't any spells that cost higher then 4, and doesn't serve as useful a purpose say Prism.
I played against a deck similar to this online and it worked pretty well for him. The main difference was he had at least a couple of Baneslayer Angels in place of the Percys.
I'd say that with 4 Stoneforge Mystics you shouldn't need to pack 5 Equipment cards, I would say you could cut back to maybe 3, giving you a couple slots for either more DoJs or a couple of Chalices
I only have access to a singleton BSA, but I think its a good idea to drop one percy for it. it gives you some flexibility vs protection creatures like an opposing BSA.
The thing about 4 Mystics is that it gives you more chances to get that equip on the field. Even if you draw multiples, it thins out your deck a little bit and provides a blocker. 2 Days might be to little but extra Days/O-Rings should be sideboard. Ideally I would run 3 and 3 but not sure what to take out.
Hey guys, I wanted to try and make a decent deck with Phylactery Lich and this is what I came up with. I haven't compiled a sideboard yet cause I'm still giving the mainboard some thought.
Getting an artifact out for Lich shouldn't be a problem; 8 draw spells and Mystic for tutor. At first glance, it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of outs for Percy, but you have 4 Path's, 2 Day's, and 3 O-rings if you really need to. Most of the time your opponent is going to remove it asap anyways.
Curve tops out at 4, and along with prism for mana fixing, playing B/W shouldn't be to difficult.
I've been playing a B/r deck with mb ruinblasters and was wondering how relevant it is against U/W control, U/W/r control, Fauna Bant/Naya and Titan Ramp? I know its brutal against Jund but lately the above have been the most prevalent in my metagame.
Hey guys, I just started playing Jund, and have been playtesting for about a week. I went 5-1 at FNM last night, and plan to take this list to Game Day in a couple hours. Here's my list:
As I can tell, most of the good players that are probably going to show up today were running either a Fauna Vengevine variant or U/W control variants. Last night all my matches were all aggro: Jund mirror, Exalted deck, Naya Fauna, R/G Overrun, and Fauna Vengevine.
Just looking for any advice to tweek the list before I head out thanks :]
love the idea. my second deck was a artifact deck kinda like this only you have newer cards in it. you should definitely try to get canonist in there somewhere, maybe as a 2-3 of in mb and definitely a spot sb.
no offense but your deck also has a bunch of cards that really don't work at all in a vamp deck. you should take a look at the vamp deck in the Developing Competitive thread to get some ideas to help consolidating your list.
off the top of my head you should mainboard bloodghasts, a set of tendrils, and take out all your non-vamp creatures. if you can get a set of nocturnus that also be great, cause it really makes or breaks vamps along with mind sludge.
my roommate has been running a mono green ascension/monument combo and he is consistently getting turn 4-6 kills. he's been top 8'ing at our local FNM the past few weeks every week except for one, and there are a lot of great players there too.
it's just way to fast for most decks to handle. the only ways I have been able to beat him is by getting opening hands full of removal for his mana elves and cobra to prevent his explosive start.
do you guys thing bloodghast is cutting it here i see him more as a liability not being to block... i'm thinking i should take it out for hexmage or nighthawks to be able to kill a 2/2 with no problem...
i think that's a wise decision. i never personally liked bloodghast outside of vamps. hexmage is just so much more useful in a deck like this.
after playing 20 games in mws with this deck i see gravetitan is needed for the extra push late game it's to good not to use in our deck... yea it's a lil of the curve but a 6/6 for 6 dat give 2 2/2 tokens... is to good to pass up... you do get hit by tutelage but it's a risk i'm willing to take to put a land, creature, or a removal in my hand or in my field.
any thoughts on how to make the deck alot better or run much smoother?
i was also thinking about adding a titan to my list. i run 25 land so it's not so much a question of the curve but what to take out. i was thinking of either dropping 1 shade or hexmage since i have 4x of each in mainboard right now.
thing is i have both grave titan and inferno titan i'm considering. i know grave titan is the business but has anyone tested inferno titan? i'm thinking the small burns each turn it's out seems to fit more in line with the purpose of the deck. i will probably try out both to see which one is more useful.
also, are titans as a one of solid? i can't really imagine running two as I can't see what else to take out.
i would like to see maniac vandal vandalize a certain axe lol.
