I know but the people that has the dual lands won't trade them because they don't have lots of them, just a playset.

You can always get Evolving Wilds, maybe even Thespian's Stage to help mana fixing, since checklands and shocklands are unattainable.

To deal with non flying creatures (GoST included) Rolling Temblor, Magmaquake. If x/1 also give you isses, there's is Electrickery and Geistflame.

Guttersnipe is a fine card in Izzet decks, however you're going to need another way to win. Were you able to play and keep the 4, 5 and 6 mana creatures around long enough to make a difference? If not, I would possibly consider dropping them, adding in a 4th Auger, and running more burn that can hit your opponent.

With cards like Thragtusk, best bet you have is to counter it. Running Essence Scatter makes quick work of 'Tusk, as well as any other problem critters. And I will third the opinion about running Dissipate, although you can run it alongside Cancel. Cancel should be treated as Dissipate 5-6.

What was your 'star card' from your previous FNM?
What seemed to be the biggest let down?
What weakness did you realize your deck had?

I, for one, would just prefer the old painlands again.

Another card that can shine with splashing UU is Biomass Mutation. That card needs a lot of mana to work and ramp decks might just be able to house it.

You don't need to splash U for that, as it can be played off of GG.

You could akways bounce the enchantment back to their owners hands, then force them to discard it or counter it when they attempt to replay said enchantment.

The lands for the 'allied' guilds could look like this...

tap: add 1 to your mana pool.
1, tap: add any combination of 2 G, R, W or B mana to your mana pool.

The double U makes it not strictly better.
This deck can't reliably leave UU open consistently.

Cancel also uses double U in it's cost.

  • posted a message on What decks will be viable in GTC standard?
I think a few others will show up with some form of results.

Hand in Hand could come back. Remember Ghost Dad and Hand in Hand are 2 different decks. Hand in Hand is W/B Aggro, whereas Ghost Dad is W/B Midrange.

Zoo will likely come back as well. Zoo is RWG Aggro (Zoo is the original RWG aggro deck name, far before Naya came out), Naya is more Midrange-ish and can be Control as well.

WW might be considered 'viable' again, as it has gained numerous tools. Frontline Medic, Blind obedience, Boros Reckoner. as well as others. Extort gives WW a form of reach, which was greatly needed.

So my list of decks to watch for would be...

    Jund variants
    Naya Midrange/Control
    Zoo
    WW
    Ghost Dad
    Zombie variants (B/U, B/R, B/G)
    Hand in Hand
    Boros variants
    Gruul Aggro/Midrange
    Boros Deck Wins
    U/W Control
    U/B control
    G/W aggro
    RDW

He's going to be a 4 of in my WW/r (NOT Boros) deck for sure.

its inclusion in other formats, but it'll be a 4-of in Standard R Aggro.

Ditto, he also is a powerhouse in WW decks as well.

People will pay 6 mana for Terminus and don't gripe. This is far better than Terminus, even if it doesn't have Miracle.

ATM before STD rotates it is lagging behind. But it does have potential and it can see play if other Boros cards are worth a damn and that's yet to be revealed....

Rotation is in 10 months, no point in discussing it.

Thragtusk doesn't need hate, the card is fine, standard is fine, stop complaining about nothing. It's not even the best card in standard right now.

This is what people usually say about cards that absolutely dominate and warp the meta.

The biggest issue with Thragtusk, is that it's in nearly every deck that t'8s due to splashability.

Your deck would likely be far more consistent if you dropped the red all together.
