A New and Exciting Beginning

The End of an Era

I am working on what to ask our Tech. I wanted to see what all the new updates provided and what is important to Market Street users before I start asking to fix stuff. Most of the Market Street fixes were Mod stuff (exciting, I know)

This forum: http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/mtgs-beta/mtgs-beta-feedback-and-bug is where you can go to discuss issues you are having. I am going to continue having this here to maintain a dialogue with our Market Street users.

I have been talking with our tech, and he answered my questions I asked so far. I am summing up what I and the rest of the MS staff think is important and will ask our tech later.

To answer you Gals, sometimes it takes sacrifices to make an impact. I am not going to defend or attack anyone on the launch. However, staying stuck on the past does not help the future. Everyone made mistakes, and we are learning from them. Further, now the staff and techs have an idea what is a problem, what is cosmetic, and what was easily fixed through fixes through other solutions. I have been told they are working on it. They have been actively fixing issues and have asked for the MS staff's input. Time will tell, but I have had my faith restored in the last few days. I am not asking you to blindly trust me that everything will be awesome and such, just be patient and things appear different. I do not mind getting dumped on. I overcame depression. This is nothing.

There will be an update on Monday as far as I have been told. I have no idea what will be changed but there is some Market Street stuff. As soon as I know and can tell, I will let you know.

I asked about moving the site back into the forums, and that is not happening. I (my own views, no association with any other users or staff) would prefer to be in the forum instead of a tab, but that is the way it is. I am going to condense down and streamline getting different things addressed to the search such as searching for foils. The techs are doing what they can to make this site better. We switched from one board style to Cobalt. There bound to be problems, and MS has been quite a problem. However, the tech staff is working on it and we are hoping to get it fixed. I am not going to sugarcoat or lie. It will be probably later this year at least before everything is fixed and we are better than the old site, but it is going to be better. I believe so, and if I did not, I would not be here. On the plus side, none of the rides ate the guests.

Thank you for your patience. I understand your frustration and disappointment. We will make it through this rough time and come out even better. If I did not believe that, I would not be here.

Thank you everyone. We are in the process of seeing what we can do. I cannot promise a time frame, as there several issues here that may be solved by other solutions already in the works, and some might require our tech guys to do new work.

Please continue to give us feedback. This helps a lot if for no other reason, it lets us prioritize what to fix.

The Market Street is going through changes so that yours, ours, and everyone's experience on the Market Street is what we want and keep coming back.

I hope you do genuinely believe that. I did. Then, when countless requests for fixes got ignored, it made working the site so unfun that I quit. I really hope that things are actually changing but, from a user-only point of view all I see is the same things not working, the staff defending it, and diminishing reasons (people as well as inventory) to use that part of the site. MOTL and Facebook trade groups now have all sorts of people that I used to see here. I don't know how you guys still do it. Frown

Hey old boss. It is good to see you.

I cannot say right now, but the MS staff is changing several things, including some rules. I (and the others) are in contact with Feyd and Curse to fix issues. They have even come to the MS staff about issues we were not fully aware of. They are fixing issues. I cannot talk about it because confidentially reasons and it is my opinion not fact. I am not here to spread false hope or be downer. I am here to make the best of the situation.

May be you leaving was for the best. May be it made no difference. I miss having you on the staff, but you raised a good staff. We (the MS Staff) are doing everything we can to make this place better. I just hope you, and the rest of the site goers, will feel that we accomplished this goal and brought a good experience later on. We do not want your work, and our home, to be lost.

I understand the frustration and disappoint with the site. The staff is fighting for the site to be better than it was, and you help by telling us real problems, no matter how small.

Tell us specifically what is wrong in your opinion. "It is bad" does not help us solve the issues. All it does is let us know you think it is bad.

Minor issues are fine. We are still going through growing pains. Other sites did not start out perfect, and MtGS is no exception. We need feedback to fix issues.

You can drop it on our Inbox or PM a MS Moderator if you feel uncomfortable talking about it in the open. We want to make this site the best possible so help us help you.

    76. To sing "Let's do the time warp again" unless it is the second time the spell is cast.

    77. One cannot simply say bushido or No-daichi. It must be screamed at the top of your lungs and then by everyone else in the immediate area.

    78. To make bad Magic Puns.

    79. To lick other people's cards.

    80. To lick other people's sleeves.

    81. To ask the judge if I can hug him or her.

    82. To hug the judge without approval.

    83. Denial to hug a judge is not something to appeal to the head judge.

    84. Using other cards in my Magic deck that are not Magic cards is illegal, but funny.

    85. You are not a planeswalker. You are a plain walker. There is a difference.

    86. Plainswalking and Planeswalking are two different things.

    87. You do not get to argue with me about what goes on backstage at MtGSalvation unless you are a moderator at MtGS.

    88. There is a time and place for porn. The cardshop is not one of them.

    89. Offering sexual services exchange for victory is immoral, illegal, and disgusting.

My Foil EDH Project is coming to an end. Just need 6* cards to finish.

*I am not counting Gaea's Cradle as a card that has a foil.

Chandra, Pyromaster is an idea. It is what I am doing, but sadly I have not been able to test it out in anything higher then casual/playtesting.

I will look into my EDH scene, but like I said, looks like most of the people around here are playing 1v1 competitive, which can often be freaking expensive too.

I have a perfectly fine deck right now, I can probably get like, one or two budget cards for it from JOU and just roll with it until rotation, maybe I'll win enough or be able to sell or trade for enough to keep playing after that. If I can't, well, then I can look into the other options. Maybe I'll actually have friends or circumstances will change by then.

I figured inasmuch. If you need any help with getting cards, let me know. Kindness of strangers is not unheard of.

I can feel your pain. I am sorry if I missed this in this thread, but it seems you play EDH? If so, just go to play that.

I feel ya, but honestly nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to trading. Somebody asked me if I was interested in 'trading up' for a standard chase mythic with reserved-list cards. And 'trading up' to a Liliana with taiga's. Um Smile

On a side note, finally got my whiskey orders in the mail! Time to get my drink on

    Warning: Mini Rant

Where does someone get the gall to ask a trader for a 10% premium on trading Standard for Standard? Standard Rares from the same block and price range.

His response surprised me. "Okay, I'm not interested in paying money to swap cardboard with you if it isn't completing a deck or something. Cheers."
The cards I wanted were Temple of Malice, Courser of Kruphix, and two Chandras and he wanted a bunch of Standard like Temples. I guess telling him I was not interested in him profiting off me warranted that response?

Note, this was not done on this site.
