Quote from Loukayza »That $9.05 Hallowed Moonlight starting price must be some type of anomaly...just pointing it out, but that card was never around there was it?
The numbers got mixed up with Hangarback Walker.

Quote from TheArchitect »The shocks and fetches had already been reprinted when the BFZ expeditions came out, but we haven't seen reprints of Misty Rainforest, Scalding Tarn, etc. These reprints are obviously coming in the future, so would that drive the prices down on their respective expeditions? I want to pick up a Misty expedition, but if it's going to drop in value once the standard-legal version is reprinted then I'll wait. What do you think?
Quote from Ryadriz »Quote from Rai Kerensky »
I doubt it will drop significantly. The card has gone up a lot in my opinion after seeing it in play.
I had a chance to pick them up for about 40% less than they are now. I don't plan on making a Green deck anytime soon that uses him, should I wait until he rotates out or do you think he'll see non-rotating format play?
Quote from Teysa_Karlov »I have to ask...
How many instants and sorceries are you running that Oath of Nissa isn't reliably a "G: look at top 3 and draw a card"? It's one mana draw in standard, plus card selection.
Quote from LokkNoR »I agree vile redeemer seems very good in rally yes 4 mana is a lot but rally is not a fast combo and i think you can afford to play a few pain lands for the sheer power of comboing with collected company and rally. Idk about this card going over $3 but $2 seems right
Quote from SpinifexV »I agree with the list on all but one count: Vile Redeemer. In a GB self sacrifice deck or a rally/aristocrat deck, it can mean getting a lot more tokens to sacrifice at instant speed. It's not an all star, but I could see it going to 1-2$ if he shows up in such a deck.
Quote from EpiCycle1 »I cannot remember a time when the first set of a block wasn't the best selling set of all time (for the past 5 years at least). But that is basically the fact that any value in BFZ is contained in 11 cards - 10 expeditions and 1 gideon.
This drop of value is not healthy to the long term health of Standard.
How is this negative? I thought it was just the fact we are entering Modern season.
Oath of the Gatewatch and Shadows over Innistrad are going to have to be very good and not rely on cheap sales gimmicks to pull Standard out of the free fall it is in.
OGW PT being a Modern one will probably not help sell standard unless it is full of gold bars.
I am 100% sure that come April, SOI will be the best selling set of all time.
Quote from Frozen Fire »So, is BFZ actually the best-selling set to this day AND the worst value turnout in the recent history at the same time?
Quote from schendel_br »"Abbot of the Keral Keep, which is a good card to look to in the future." I didn´t get that. Is that a card wich is probably going to increase the value in the future, or no?
Quote from monkeyhand »
"As the values of these cards goes up, it should not mean that people will open more packs for them. "
That seems counter-intuitive, wouldn't they open more because they are going up!?!
Quote from TheArchitect »Warden of the First Tree was reprinted in the B/G event deck--is an increase in value that likely?
Quote from Aphettoh »Will you include the Expeditions in the future? Or are they not displayed since most aren't Standard playable?
Well, hello decent removal spell
Not the worse emerge card.
At least they tried to not miss the mark. Some of the cards are bad/weak choices. There are a few good reprints for value. The main selling point of this is the Dark Depths and Marit Lage token. It is not a failure like some in the past, but it is solidly middle of the ground. The reprints will affect a lot of teh prices of some, especially the token and Cabal Ritual.
My views on the cards
Meh: Beseech the Queen: The queen was already printed which is why this was chosen. Personally, Rhys the Redeemed would have been better in my opinion, but this is decent value and flavor.
NO: Cabal Ritual: Fine reprint but does not fit the lore aspect of the FTV. It feels like they jammed this in here to help sell it.
Yes: Conflux: It is a weak reprint, but spot on for flavor.
Yes: Dark Depths: This is one of the weaker flavor, but it is there. It is the money reprint.
Yes: Glissa, the Traitor: This is what lore should be.
Yes: Helvault: This is what lore should be.
Yes: Memnarch: This is what lore should be.
Meh: Mind's Desire: this gets a pass simply because they did not reprint Mirari for the fifth time.
Yes: Momir Vig, Simic Visionary: Critical charter in one of the best stories although there were a lot better choices.
Yes: Near-Death Experience: This is a really flavorful moment, a neat effect, and a massive story moment. It is not a great value card, but it was a nice pck.
No: Obliterate: It was a great moment, but this is not the card that feels like that moment.
No: Phyrexian Processer: This is not what I think of when I think of the Phyrexians. Flavor and value fail.
Meh: Tolaria West: I get it a reference Tolirian Academy, but I rather have the Ruins instead. It is a fine reprint for value and flavor.
No: Umezawa's Jitte: This is a great card, but for lore of Kamigawa, it is like saying Captain America's shield represents the Avengers franchise.
No: Unmask: A nice reprint for Drege but not what I would call a defining moment of the Wheaterlight saga.
Yes: Marit Lage: Nice to see the token pack.
This has gone up a lot in my opinion after seeing it in the emerge deck.
I just made a comment about what to do with Lily in my article here. For your question specifically, I would not buy it unless you get it at around thirty five-ish. It is not likely to crack fifty, but it will tick up a little more then slowly drop over the next month or two if it sees no major increase in play. Price memory is a thing and if Lily does well at the Pro Tour, it may say at 45.
Archythagoras earned a third suspension and will be gone for two months.
Never unhappy to have this, but I rather have a better card in the deck. Being a strong card in Magic is a little cutthroat, but it you cannot take heat, stay out of the kitchen.t
There is something that connections to me on a primal level with ramp in general.
My faith in this card remains solid.
This is a great annoying creature.
