With the banning announced today, Amonkhet has arisen. This is a great time to look into Standard and start brewing. Red based aggressive decks will do well.
On Glorybringer, the card has spiked, but it will go down. Thunderbreak Regent did the same thing, and the Top 8 promo from Gameday will lower the price by a good amount. Dump the hotness now, because it won't last. They really do. I would venture a guess of five to eight, depending on how well it does in the new format.

Apr 24, 2017Rai Kerensky posted a message on The Magic Market Index Amonkhet Set ReviewTypically, cards printed in RtR and later don't see price increases due to Commander or casual demand. First is the cards are mass produced more than they use to. Second, the reason a lot of the cards like Parallel Lives go up is the cards have been out of print and demand is created after the time when the card is opened up a lot. A card like Anointed Procession already has a slot and will be picked up. A card like Doubling Season and Parallel Lives were were picked up after their time in Standard. Third, newer cards that have causal appeal are more likely to be reprinted than cards printed earlier. Weird, but Wizards can only do so many reprints and they like to reprint newer cards that are more relevant to Standard.Posted in: Articles

Apr 4, 2017Rai Kerensky posted a message on The Magic Market Index for April 1, 2017I just thought it was a bad use of a joke (what was not funny to me). Humor is a fickle thing. I don't have anything jokes being told, as I did them both on April fools day and in the normal article. Its a hard balance and I don't fault you for trying, just it fell flat this time.Posted in: Articles

Apr 3, 2017Rai Kerensky posted a message on The Magic Market Index for April 1, 2017I wrote an April Fools joke for some of the articles (if I remember correctly), so I'm not going to criticize jokes made with the article, but the jokes were...not really funny to me at least.Posted in: Articles
Overall, Magic has stopped being worth it in the money aspect, which is one of the reasons I did quit Magic last month. For a piece of advice, maybe my last, don't invest in Magic at all unless it is for a quick flip. The market is violate and nothing aside of the reserve list is safe from tanking in price. Also, Amonket is shaping up to be a disaster of a set, and not just the Masterpiece Collection. -
Dec 19, 2016Rai Kerensky posted a message on The Magic Market Index for December 16, 2016I am merely giving my disapproval of how this has currently gone since Feyd Ruin wrote this. The time for me to offer improvements passed a long time ago. I don't like the direction it's currently going in, but this is no longer my series. I wish it success, but I will not have anything further to do with it, either helping or hurting it.Posted in: Articles
Thank you to all the readers of this series. I am glad I was able to write for all of you and I appreciate your comments, both praise and criticism.
Thank you to MTGS for giving me this opportunity to write and to be a staff member. -

I agree. I've been disappointed by the article series lately. -

Timberwatch will not have this art though.
This article was written before Announcement day. Thanks for the heads up. -

Also,
EMA is done. There will be a final review later this weekend. I was out moving a friend into their new house and I am tired. -

I missed the you control part. Aside from that, it is still not good. -

Many dozens of cards that go "down" here go up in your list and vice versa. Really confusing when trading with others when the link to this post - yet the card you want to trade is consistently valued higher at the market than here.
"Kalitas was free falling": https://www.magiccardmarket.eu/Products/Singles/Oath of the Gatewatch/Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet
(Just look at the two week average light blue line instead of the daily average).
"relentless dead will drop": https://www.magiccardmarket.eu/Products/Singles/Shadows over Innistrad/Relentless Dead
All highly more valued than the US counterparts.

I felt it was clear when I stated that I am using TCGPlayer and not MCM, but I can add that it is based off the US card market. I tried getting an article series going based on MCM and the European market, but that deal fell through with the person I was going to have write it. I do not have the time to do another series. -

After the second time Conspiracy 2 shows up. There will be a Conspiracy 2 set review once the set is fully and officially spoiled and then it will get in the article on the first update right before the release date. After the next article, Eternal Masters will drop from the list and an exit review will be done for it. -

She is not better than Veil. But I do not think she is as bad as people made her out to be. She is coud easily be in the top ten planeswalkers printed. -

Certain key cards moved up in price, as you noted with puzzlement. I'm thinking subtle forces are in play expecting a breakout at Pro Tour, and are speculating.
I'm working on it, as I think the pieces are there for Zombies to beat Bant Company by going wider than Bant can cover. The various sacrifice a creature cards, Dark Salvation and Languish along with Clip Wings may yet be combined into a force that tumbles Bant Company.
I have my suspicion that a GB deck is on the works. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
I certainty did.
Done
The exclusive cards from that set are either high or worthless. I would not trust any prices from those planeswalker decks.
