Looking for suggestions for my new BWR Control deck. It's got lots of land spot and creature removal and great discard. Usually a big Magnivore finishes them off, though the Reaches and the Gladiator can go in too. Gladiator also let's me make use of those dead late game draws.
I agree that the Slith is the weak link to the deck. While the Forcemage will pump the BBE if it gets cascaded into (since it resolves first), it will just sit there not attacking.
Idk if I have the mana base to support groundbreaker.
This deck used to be Standard, but now it's not. I can't think of any better creatures. Also, a requirement is that the creature have haste. I will not cascade into a slugabed monster!
My suggestion is Auriok Steelshaper. He may not be a Knight, but he pumps them, and he reduces equip costs. He seems perfect. You can even get more equipment. But I'd recommend running Steelshaper's Gift and maybe four or five cool equipments to tutor up.
Many changes made. Big Bombs like Keiga and Yosei were cut because most removal in my meta never lets anything hit the grave. Detritivore sat in my hand a lot. They've been replaced by the Frost Titan, and utility critters, like Stoneforge Mystic, Orcish Settlers, and Viashino Heretic. My recent gottenness of a Mana Crypt cuts Basalt Monolith, and Khalni Gem saves lands from my own LD. Other good changes. Loss of Austere Command and All is Dust hasn't been felt. Day covers a lot of what Austere was used for, and I never cast All is Dust. Decree of Annihilation is an uncounterable land sweeper.
Out:
-1 Detritivore
-1 Keiga, the Tide Star
-1 Yosei, the Morning Star
-1 Azorius Signet
-1 Basalt Monolith
-1 Sword of Vengeance
-1 Austere Command
-1 All is Dust
-1 Ruination
-1 Rush of Knowledge
-1 Miraculous Recovery
-1 Desertion
-1 Skullclamp
-1 Prahv, Spires of Order
-1 Sunhome, Fortress of the Legion
Well, I actually DO play Detritivore and Personal and Mystical Tutors.
As for all the spot removal of LD, I dont know how I feel about it. And Destructive Force isn't as good as Wildfire because Wildfire lets my Baneslayers and Kamigawa Dragons LIVE TO KEEP ATTACKING.
First off, I'd like to say that I play this deck lots in Multiplayer, but usually pick one target to injure. I'm more spiteful than ambitious. Thus, this follows the Multiplayer Ban List rather than the French, i.e. Crucible, Mana Crypt, etc is fine.
After growing bored with my first EDH attempt (Sliver Overlord *yawn*), I'm trying my favorite three color combo: Red, White, and Blue. And since Numot's pretty slick, he's my dude. Hoping to drop one bomb, and then sweep the land if I have board advantage. (Disclaimer: I don't think of any of the people in my playgroup as "friends," so I'm fine with angering them with repeated land sweeps.
I plead ignorance as to proper EDH deck building skills, so I come to see how my list looks to you happy few.
expedition map costs 3 times more and if you're going to run scapeshift you should go ahead and run valakuts for an additional win condition
also you can't find mindslaver or an eldradzi with either
Exactly. I'm looking for options that can find many things. Scapeshift might be a cool one-of though, since it could assemble 8post and be found with gifts.
ancient stirrings seems better then time of need, almost always means get a land if nothing else...
Ooo I agree, though Time of Need felt redundant because I have Gifts, T&N, and Eye. I didn't think it'd be hard to find an Eldrazi once I have the mana to cast it. But I like Stirrings cuz I might be able to dig for a Cloudpost/Vesuva.
Do ppl think thats a card worth trying? I have Realms and Rotation, I figured I'd find my pieces easy enough...

It looks like the burn you're packing is enough to kill them, forget about the combo.
Another Wrath of God effect card would be great. *** itself being a good candidate.
Oblation: MVP. It has helped so much.
