I agree with the above (some of those are on the reserved list but yah) but I also want cards like the alternate art Cabal Therapy and Chain Lightning but without that "premium" foiling. In general though I hope they print lots of cards that can make decks not requiring reserved list cards like DnT, burn, almost dredge, etc. just to get newer players to be able to have an almost finished deck without getting bricked by duals and crap.
I'm also a degenerate and want that promo Dryad Arbor without the FTV foiling, heck even make it full art (but neither of those are happening, people hate that card)
Naga being used in name only would be ok as long as their creature type was snake. The only exception would be on Tarkir since its set in stone now that they'ed have to reuse the naga creature type there.
Edit- Nagas on an Eyptian themed plane actally seems fitting.
They changed Cyclopean Mummy to zombie creature type. Nothing is set in stone.
Yea lets use a card from the very early days of the game when creatures had whatever creature types because...ummmm...no reason they just had creature types.
Naga is different because it came way after the Great Creature Update. Which was to lessen the clutter of unused and nonsense creature types. Nagas don't do anything different from the Orochi in Kamigawa besides looks. There both just snakes with humanoid features. Nagas should have had the creature type snake, having them be Naga in name only would have been fine.
Your very example also counters itself as a counter argument. A mummy is a zombie, in life it would have been a human. Why keep it as mummy when by all definition a mummy is an undead form of a humanoid creature which zombie covers?
Undead creature that used to be human... That seems pretty non-specific, actually. Vampire, lich, zombie, possibly spirit... But not mummy.
Vengeful Pharaoh is based off an Egyptian mummy and is a zombie.
Void Winnower is so... Eldrazi. It's like "No you don't" and your opponent doesn't even understand why. It's such an alien card. I love it.
I like it as well but it's completely unplayable in every format except limited. In Standard, removal is 3 cmc and you can't have a 9 CMC creature die to all mainstream removal. I mean, it does't even have a triggered ability on ETB or cast, and it can be countered. Ulamog is WAAAAAY better than this thing.
It shuts down a lot of things and I can see it being played as a one-of in the sideboard of a legacy reanimation deck.
So when would you play this over Iona, Elesh Norn or Griselbrand, exactly?
Karakas bounces all the creatures you named and not the Eldrazi. Not saying the Eldrazi is going to see legacy play, but just a reason why you could want him in play over those creatures.
You can't just take away the legend rule. As a Maverick player I'd love to jam 4 Thalia's into play and crush, but that's just not fair, Thalia wasn't designed to be balanced around having more than 1 of her in play.
And don't get me started on Mox Opal...
(The other idea is silly too, limiting decks without brainstorm to 1 copy of Thalia seems counter-productive.)
It would be so sweet if Day's Undoing allowed you to skip your end step. Like if it said "Start the opponent's turn" instead of "end your turn" so all the things that happen at the end of your turn (exiling whipped or goryos' guys or whatever) didn't happen.
You actually do skip the end step with this effect
Might Lightning Greaves help against miracles? It provides multiple functions:
-Marit Lage can be much more surprising and is much harder for them to deal with (only Terminus works).
-Protects your hatebears from Karakas, plow and Jace. It's kind of like an extra Mother of Runes that you can tutor for and that's harder to remove for most decks.
-Haste is Jace's worst enemy. Haste also weakens their strategy of going low on life knowing you cannot touch them without giving them a turn to respond.
Sideboard still to be decided. I don't really like Birds of Paradise in here. It should probably be Noble Hierarch, but that card is ridiculously expensive. I also think an extra Savannah over the second Forest would be better.
We run the exact same list except I have the Hierarch over birds and I cut the Greaves (took me a good minute to realize you had 61 cards lol). I would for sure keep the 2nd forest over the 3rd Savannah.
My sideboard is a bit locally tuned and might be a bit odd atm, but it's:
Some cards I'm leaning towards in the board are like, Stony Silence and Oblivion Ring, but I just don't know. (You may also notice I'm really light on the dredge hate, just my main deck cards, but keep in mind killing your own Dryad Arbor is a good strat to exile bridges.) Funny thing though is that my elves matchup is MUCH better after I bring in 12 cards (I don't bother bringing in the needles even though you can name symbiote.)
I'm really awful at tournament reports as I don't take notes and my memory is poor, but I drew and split for first at a 25 person GPT playing Maverick yesterday.
RUG can deal with Batterskull several ways: Ancient Grudge, Smash to Smithereens, K-Grip, Submerge. I wouldn't declare it the trump card over RUG. Thalia and Wasteland friggin' shut it down against RUG Delver.
Don't know if this is in response to me. I don't think I'd get BSK vs. Delver, but I'm not 100% sure. It's good if you can get/keep it.
I had a good outing with Batterskull last week against burn and a poor Storm pilot.
You don't know how happy that makes me. I love it when Junk/Mav/etc beats storm. I had a good week last week against a pair of storm decks and it was wondrous.
I ended up beating Belcher and Saint in the first rounds of my local last week. I was quite surprised myself.
Yeah Warden I have the 8th fetch and a Horizon Canopy over the 2nd Bayou and 4th Thalia. I have 4 DRS and 1 Noble, and then my flex 3rd equipment is atm Lightning Greaves. That's the only differences between our maindecks. My SB is way different but it's more toned to my local meta.
I'm running the Dark Depths + Stage combo but instead of cutting a land for the Depths I cut a 4th Thalia ... Feels odd cutting a land for Depths when it doesn't make mana.
As far as I remember my maindeck is the same as Warden's minus that and I'm testing out Lightning Greaves over Sword of Light and Shadow.
I'm also a degenerate and want that promo Dryad Arbor without the FTV foiling, heck even make it full art (but neither of those are happening, people hate that card)

Isn't this effect always in white? (or white//blue)
