Last night I was playing a chaos deck and managed to land an Eye of the storm with a Scrambleverse on it. After a few turns of changing permanents, I cast a Knowledge exploitation, targeting the jund player, and find a Violent Ultimatum, blowing up everyone else's permanents after a few cycles eye of the storm rotations
I have just started getting into modern and am almost done with my BW tokens list (just need the dang Bitterblossoms), and really enjoy watching videos on youtube of people playing modern. The problem I have is the only place I found that I really like is the guys at Channel Fireball. Anyone have a good recommendation for some new videos, especially if they have a tokens player.
I guess I should explain the state a little better. He gains control of my creature with Mind Control. End of turn I activate Homeward Path. I believe I get my creature back, but he says he keeps my creature since Mind control is still enchanting it.
If I have a creature stolen with Mind Control, if I activate Homeward Path, do I keep control of my creature? My opponent said that Mind Control created a static effect that keeps it.
As usual, the idea is to get Sigarda out with as much as power and evasion as possible. I'm unable to get some of the better cards at the moment (Enchantress's Presence and Shield of the Oversoul), but I'm hoping to be able to improve with some of the reprints in M14.
While knowledge pool seems like a lot of fun, every time it's been cast, it just slows the game down way to much. Kaervek seems to paint too much of a bulls eye on me, but I definitely wanna pick up a Sire of Insanity.
Does anyone remember the name of the card that sets everyone's life total to the lowest among players?
Both triggers would be put on the stack at the same time, and you can control which one will resolve first. But when Wrexials ability triggers, you have to pick a target for it before either resolves, so you have to pick a spell that is currently in their yard.
Played a GW midrange with loxodon smiter and silverblade paladin for the control match up. Has a anti control side board with Thalia, guardian of thraben and strangleroot geist. Went 4-0 with 14 in attendance (college football game kept the turn out low, which ended up well for me).
Round one against grixis control. Lost the first match after a long grindy game.
Thalia turn two on games 2 and 3 followed up with a smiter and silverblade ended it quick.
Round two against UW control. Pretty much played out like round 1. Lost game one after a grindfest, won game 2 on the back of thalia, and game 3 from turn 2 smiter, turn 3 silverblade with a rancor on the smiter.
Round three against G/B zombies. Lost game one to the 2/1 intimidate guy with a rancor with 2 3/3 haste guys on defense for him. Game 2 was won on the back of a turn 2 smiter and turn 3 trostani. Resto angel and a call of the conclave followed by the life gain from trostani made the game out of reach for him. Game 3 went t2 smiter, t3 paladin + rancor.
Round four against Rakdos wins. Game 1 went t2 smiter, t3 silverblade + rancor. He draws on his t3 and scoops. Game two he was stuck on 2 mana, played a thalia on turn 3 and attacked with a smiter, passed. He drew and scooped with 3 brimestone volleys in his hand.
So I won the mat and found out there is few things more brutal than a t3 6/4 double striking smiter going into the red zone. If they don't have an answer on their turn its game over.
It's true!
Declare a block, flash it into play, keep your blocker alive, flash it in as a blocker herself.
My wording of "reset one of your blockers" is misleading though. You can only block once with the flicker target. Does that clear it up?
Doesn't quite work that way, you can either blink a blocking creature or block with the angel herself. All blockers a declared at once, so if the angels isn't in play once you declare blockers the first time, she won't be eligible to block.
My first EDH deck I built a few years ago. Recently I have acquired some new cards and upgraded it, and want to post it here for some advice. My mana fixing isn't the best, but since I use a lot of fetch spells, I don't think that it should be a problem.
The basic idea is to ramp, ramp, ramp, drop general, then play efficient or powerful creatures that become even more powerful after being pumped.
Also the Conscripts can steal a planeswalker, letting you keep the planeswalker and using its ability 2x in one turn, once before you shift it, and again after. Pretty powerful effect, but I don't know how useful it will be in practice.
Playing G/W tokens with beast withins and oblivion rings against a control deck.
Him: Venser, blink land, pass.
Me: O-ring venser, attack, pass.
Him: Cast Venser.
Me: In response, beast within my O-ring
His next turn: Gideon +2, pass.
Me: O-ring Gideon, attack, pass.
Him: Cast Gideon.
Me: In reponse, beast within my O-ring.
Him: Scoop.
The first time isn't that hilarious, but the 2nd time he was pretty much demoralized. Did it once again game 2, and two more times over the course of the fnm. While not game ending, it is funny to watch your opponents face.
Thanks.

It works pretty well when the general is incapacitated, and great when she's out.
Any suggestions would be great.
