Has anyone tested Deadbridge Chant instead of Primeval Bounty? I was just curious since they play some what similar roles as a Card Advantage engine for us to out-pace or keep up with other mid-range and control decks.

I personally like Chant because it's like drawing an extra card each turn and if you're playing Scavenging Ooze, you can to an extent "fix" which card you get back. Also recycling cards is always great.

But I do see the benefit of Bounty of giving every card you play additional value and can start giving benefits straight away instead of having to wait a turn and potentially get blown out by enchantment hate.

So how does this guy work with Common Bond? Does he get 4 +1/+1 counters or am I just wrong?

This is an Enchantress type of card or perhaps a fit for a Simic evolve theme of some sort.
It's got to be a part of a draw engine. I think that you're generally going to need to dump all of your cheap enchantments right away. This is the least useful and therefore will come down last, then you're hoping to topdeck an enchantment to get an extra +1/+1 every now and then.

It could be useful elsewhere but I don't see how it could help us.

Good point. I understand that the fast hand's are all we should be aiming for, this is just a back up plan for when we get a slow or mediocre hand we have to keep. Stretching the value of the other enchantment's can speed up some draws.

Also it kind of helps in playing around the new edict Celestial Flare, in the sense that we don't have to go all in all the time and get totally blown out.

Whenever ~ or another enchantment enters the battlefield under your control, you may put a +1/+1 counter on target creature.

What do you guys think of this card as a 2-off MD? Here me out, at first glance it does seem like a win more card but it's an enchantment that that make all your other enchantments better, triggers immediately and lets you spread out the buff.

It's also wrath resistant which makes it easier to re-assemble a decent clock post wrath.

Piloted BBD/Brads version of this deck at a mini standard event last night, (around 22 people) went 4-0.

Was very lucky that I didn't play against a deck with graveyard hate until the finals.

Round 1 Vs. Home Brew Extort deck with Exquisite blood combo.
Game 1 - Stall out of ways to dig after mulching twice and only hitting Farseek, Other Mulch es and Grisly Salvage. Proceed to beat down with Huntmaster of the Fells my opponent plays a couple of Vizkopa Guildmage and nothing else. Huntmaster wins game 1
    Board: - 4 Farseek + 2 Appetite for Brains +2 Slaughter Games
Game 2 - Opponent start with Thrul Parasite and Blind Obedienceto start some early extort. I play a Grisly Salvage into Fiend Hunter to slow down the extort. He kills Fiend Hunter and ships the turn. Faithless Looting into Mulch sets up a turn 5 kill. (2-0)

    Round 2 Vs. Grixis Control
Game 1 - Early turns were spent me casting Farseek into Huntmaster turn 4, 5 and 6, he spends his turns killing them one by one then Sever the bloodline on the tokens on his turn 6. He gets stuck on 4 lands and I just draw lands (including a Cavern of Souls naming angel). I eventually draw an Angel of Glory's' Rise and he concedes.
Board: -4 Farseek, -1 Cathedral Sanctifier +3 Appetite for Brains +2 Slaughter Games
Game 2 - I lead on an Appetite for Brains taking his Slaughter Games into Mulch binning Angel. He plays draw go and I proceeded to fill up my grave yard till I have my combo assembled (Turn 7). I cast Slaughter Games to clear the way of counter spells and combo of the next turn. (2-0)

    Round 3 Golgari Midrange?
Game 1: Like other Game 1s I spend my turns casting Faithless Looting and Grisly Salvage assembling a hand of 3 Huntmasters and 3 Fiend Hunters but no combo. So I spend my turns beating down with Huntmasters and exiling my opponents blockers with Fiend Hunters (Thragtusk, Dreg Mangler, Augur of Bolas).
Board: -3 Farseek +3 Appetite for Brains
Game 2: Opponent Keeps a hand of Mutilates and Killing Waves and I combed off without any disruption on turn 6 without a problem. (2-0)

    Round 4 Naya Humans.
Game 1: He keeps a slow hand but slows me down a lot thanks to a turn 2 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben. I had to Fiend Hunter her only to meet another one waiting for me. I Mulched hitting 2 Huntmasters and a Cartel Aristocrat and tried to wait the game out. He ups the clock with a Huntmaster of his own and I Fiend Hunter it. He misses a Land Drop and I cast a Huntmaster of my own. At this point the game stalls As he casts creature but is not able to attack profitably and me Digging for my combo. This goes on for 5 turns as and I still can't find my Angel so I gave up and decided to spend both my Unburial Rites on the 2 Huntmasters and Grind him out with 3 Huntmasters.
Board: -4 Farseek +3 Cathedral Sanctifier +1 Ray of Revelation
Game 2: He leads with a Rest In Peace and flood on lands. I cast a couple of Faithless Looting till I hit Ray of Revelation and combo off after filling the yard back up. (2-0)

Overall I really like the deck. I has the ability to be a Huntmaster beatdown deck which is a nice plan b. Farseek is great on the play but on the draw not so, making it an easy cut for game 2. Hope this helps.

Yes, in Magical Christmas Land where you draw perfect and your opponent never plays anything ever, this is a great card.

If you read my post, it clearly states that I'm the person on the losing end. So why the need to pick on the person who is already down. Tongue

And lets be honest as players, how often do we find ourselves using the excuse, "My opponent had the nut draw".

I can already see myself sitting across from my opponent as he curves, Goblin Scrapper, Huntmaster of the Fells, Thragtusk, saying to myself, "So this is how I die this standard season."

Hi guys been reading up on this thread and I really like the ideas so far. Just got a quick question, On versions that are running Sorin, Lord of Innistrad how hot are you guys on Bloodline Keeper.

I use to run Junk Tokens before RtR and the Synergy he allows in conjunction with Sorin is really worth looking into. However keep in mind that I had access to Birds of Paradise to help fix mana so to accommodate Bloodline Keeper we would need to commit a bit more to B. Maybe GB splash W?

IF you are hard set on sticking with heavier GW splash B, how about Mayor of Mayor of Avabruck main deck if you are already playing Selesnya Charm and Midnight Haunting.

I really like the flexibility of her.

With the implied return of Shock lands making her playable outside of MBC she could find a home in standard.

Her second ability, having the option to kill opposing creatures or even pumping your own creatures lets you take control of the board fairly well.

Her ultimate seems fine. Here's hoping for some sick X spell to abuse it with.

Don't know if my news really counts but I joined League and my sealed boosters came from the (New) same box and I got 3 Stolen goods. Very odd but still fun to play.

Really love this cards design and flavour. As Protector of Innistrad her ability makes a lot of sense. As a 8CMC 8/8 Legendary Angel with Flying and Vigilance she does feel worthy of a Mythic slot. Can't wait for to get a Foil one.

In constructed play, maybe viable as a control finisher. The need to have a specific answer to deal with (-X/-X, exile and edict effects) gives a nice sense of inevitability.

There has been an Article on Daily Mtg in regards to speculating the Cards colour based on the Art Palette. It was written by Doug Beyer and it was called Palette Vs. Color.

Basically while the possibility for Multicolour Angels is still there, using art and and the colour motif to speculate a cards place on the Colour Pie seems like a weak argument.
