Not to mention Lightning Bolt is instant. Still a pretty good card I'd say.

If your biggest concern is control, why not run 4x Luminarch Ascension in the sideboard? It's a killer card in this deck actually...might be main board material.

I haven't been able to respond. Life has...consumed me. I've having many IRL issues that don't allow me to continue with this tournament. If you had been in the same time-zone or one that was a little closer it might be possible to work out, but unfortunately that's not the case.

    Consider this a bye :p

Why on earth you would splash just for piracy charm is beyond me. Often times I find Funeral Charm to be one of the weaker cards in the deck. Running 8 isn't what Pox needs IMO.

White is the best splash with green being a close second in my opinion.

That curve is so ridiculously high that you will never play anything before losing, especially with 22 lands. I don't really know what you can do if you just want to play sphinxes. Generally decks only run 3 or so of the high converted cost sphinxes like Sphinx of Jwar Isle. Here you're running 20+ creatures of such acost.

The first few posts in this thread hurt my head a little. I was going to post a Faerie Stompy list, but that's already been done it seems.

A budget blue stompy just is not possible. It really is the all in legacy version or nothing to be quite honest. Sadly, there just is no middle ground.

Seconded. I'm trying to summon a powerful warrior or a daring explorer or whatever. Doesn't matter what they look like.

Not to mention this criticism is coming from a nerd forum. How close are these sallow, cratered teens to the male physical ideal? And how are comments like these getting them closer to real women, instead of tiny ones painted on playing cards?

I suggest you speak for yourself. Just because someone plays Magic:The Gathering does not mean they cannot take care of themselves or keep themselves in shape.

As for the card itself, I think it's great. A little overhyped? Yes, I think so. I don't believe it'll do very much in the current standard environment. However, I believe it will truly shine in Extended.

Lands.dec may use it, but as it stands intuition is far better. Intuition fetches Loam and any lands you need (like The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale or Wasteland) or it can fetch you Academy Ruins + desired artifact (like Engineered explosives or Mindslaver for the lock).

Most of my thoughts on the card have most likely already been stated, but it's difficult to sift through 18 pages of people discussing the behind of an elf and phallic objects on a MTG card.

Pox has very little anti-dredge tactics in game 1. Engineered Explosives is nice to deal with the tokens, but it's impossible to deal with Iona. Not many versions of pox run Engineered Maindeck.

A white splash improves the game against dredge by a huge margin. Ghostly Prison can literally stop the deck in its tracks.

recently my friend and i have brewed up a list that splashes green for pulse and goyf. has been working out quite well

Have you tested Life from the Loam in the green splash? It wouldn't be so bad, but then I'd feel like I'm playing Trisomy 21 instead.

I won 2-1 against OvvNeR. Good games.

Circle of Protection: Red and Serenity in the board aswell.

Ghostly Prison alone makes the auto-scoop Game 1 vs. Ichorid semi-winnable.

The only things that really need color are Ultimatums...

Those are really, really, really color intensive. To be honest, with a standard mana base, you'll have a very difficult job casting them. The only ones that are worth casting are Cruel Ultimatum and Violent Ultimatum. Violent is only really worth it if you have access to sufficient (Jesus-God land Cobra level) ramp.

I honestly don't believe you can have a healthy manabase. This isn't quite Lorywn block standard.

Open the Vaults. Very consistent, incredibly actually. It's something to really watch out for, especially if you're totally unprepared.

Has trouble with control pre-board though.

I was ready to correct your spelling thinking you meant discard. My apologies :P. Is the Persecutor really necessary with Demigod in the deck? I don't think you need that many fatties. Maybe drop them for Bloodghasts?

It just feels so wrong not to run 4 (instead of 3) lightning bolts and at least a couple of terminates.

    The changes I would make:
    -3 Abyssal Persecutor
-2 Damnation (Not really needed in this deck to be honest)
-3 Animate Dead (Looks great at first! But hey, look at that...most of your creatures are recursive anyways or you want them in the GY (Anger). This is concreted further if you add Bloodghasts)

    +4 Bloodghast
    +1 Lightning Bolt
+4 Terminate (or 3 Terminates and 1 Snuff Out, or Up Fiery Temper, Snuff Out, and Cabal Therapy to 4,etc.)

Someone is bound to suggest Blightning, because every standard player and their mother, brother, and sister are in love with it. It is very powerful, but I'm quite so sure if it'll be so effective. It'll be towards the top of your curve and while amazing I'm not so positive if it really furthers your goals too much. I suppose you could try it. Come to think of it, with those changes even Anger becomes kind of useles...hmm

Luminarch Ascension or a resolved Telemin Performance. Early uncountered Luminarch is usually GG once it hits 4 counters.
