"Alright, so I made some fake artwork in the style of a popular Magic artist, forged is signature, designed a nice ability on a decently costed limited common, mocked the card up and I'm ready to print it out perfectly."
"What about the copyright line? Something's different there"
"You know what, don't worry about it. People won't look there."

Fortunately, it does not work that way. Like I said, they wouldn't just botch that. They'd make sure it was correct. As Urzassedatives said, the card is real. As someone else said,
The copyright thing alone sealed it for me, because some random dude wouldn't know about this change and would have made it just like the old style we saw in M13.

Pretty sure if the person went into all this excruciating effort to make a fake this good, he/she wouldn't have simply botched the entire operation by leaving out 1993 or whatever at the bottom of the card. Card's real.

I get the idea. Obviously, it's going to take a lot of time to build these relationships, but since I don't have anything better to do, I might as well get out there more often, and see what I can do.

Mature way to look at it. I will check the thread out from time to time also to see how you are doing.

The reason I have not been posting videos lately is because I have actually been getting a lot better at recognizing my own mistakes and accepting the variance of the game. This has dramatically improved my win percentage from the low 50s to nearly 60%. The problem I have is improving my decision-making process. If you look at my recent PTQ, you will find that I did not blame luck for my losses there, either.

BTW, people stopped responding to my other thread where I was posting videos and asking about mulligan/gameplay decisions without whining about my luck. I guess you're right and I've alienated too many people. Oh well.

I appreciate the advice about making a team. I'll definitely work on that.

Let me ask you a question about receiving advice, since this is a core part of my personality. Isn't it important to question advice when one does not understand it? For example, someone recommended that I try 2-man queues. No offense, but that definitely is not good practice. I didn't want to offend anyone by saying that, but there it is. Instead, I asked why they thought it was a good idea. I disagreed and moved on. How else am I supposed to react? Accept everything at face value?

I'm typing on my phone, so forgive the errors.

In my opinion you are proving Dee and the other poster's point exactly. You are not questioning the advice there, you skipped straight to condemnation of it,
saying it is bad. Again, no skeptical inquiry, straight to down casting. Do you see? If you're tempted to reply with "yes but!", then I'm going to take a risk and wager you may not yet be ready for acceptance of the information. Of course, we all could be wrong *shrugs*.

I believe any activity begins with the proper foundation of personal philosophy. Optimism, good vibes, all that fruity business. And if you are sitting here asking these folks on how to socialize people and intellectualizing the information to this degree, my opinion (granted without knowing you and only reading your posts), you're quite frankly my good man just plain thinking too much. Get out there and use your natural charm and build a social network. A lot of this stuff is "soft" science, psychological, and ultimately fairly experiential. As in, you probably won't find your playtest partner right off the bat. Heck, it should be easier than dating though.

Buddha said (paraphrased) if you ever hear anything that does not sound like common sense, throw it out... you're either as I said not ready for the information or it doesn't serve you. I hope I've helped you some though, you can review my profile and see I do not post much, but I sincerely do like helping people. Best of luck!

Yep, I figured out my very first game of EDH that those oversize general cards that come with the precons are unplayable. Mine didn't even get tucked, just Unsummoned, but I felt pretty silly holding that huge general in my hand with my other cards.

This literally made me LOL. Sorry you had to go through that but thanks for posting it.

I don't mind the lack of a legend, but I would have liked some support for my tribal deck that they built up in the first two sets and then more-or-less abandoned in AVR. It just seemed like a great opportunity - single sided cards to smooth out that DFC unreliability, and a large set so there was plenty of room. None of those wolf/wolfir cards are going to make a Werewolf deck viable.

Yes, I know there were reasons they did this. Oh well, as was said, we are probably in the vast minority. Feels good in a way. You all have a good day.

The way to go in the future might be to ramp up to 3+ CMC Werewolves and Wolfir. As noted, 7/7 Double Strike with evasion is good, not to mention you can give one of them Trample while declaring Kessig as 0 for just a 3 land investment. Little hard on the mana, but that's what Birds are for.

Will be interesting to see the CMCs of the Wolfir. Who knows, maybe WotC actually know what they're doing. Really disappointed to see FMR bite the dust though, that anti-synergy was the biggest thing I disliked about Young Wolf and Immerwolf not being full on Werewolves.

It was legal. Objects on the stack resolve one at a time, so after you cast your creature spell before it resolves both players must pass priority. So after you passed it to your opponent he cast brainstorm which then goes on the stack. After that both have to pass priority, which obviously you both did, brainstorm then resolves. After brainstorm is done resolving you as the active player would receive priority again, and once again for the creature to resolve both players must pass priority, again you pass to your opponent and he casts a counter spell, so after both of you pass priority again the counterspell resolves and counters your creature spell.

That sounds so much more unintuitive than the way I had thought it would play out. Thank you for the information.

While playing a friend tonight, I casted a creature, he responded with Brainstorm then used a counterspell to counter the creature.

For some reason it just struck me as odd, so I wanted to make sure it was legal. I suppose because I'm just so used to seeing someone counter a spell straight away - not cast a spell then another spell. After I reasoned it through, it sounded legal enough. I supposed his Braintstorm passed priority to me, then I passed it back to him, then he countered the spell and the stack resolved.

Just in case no one has seen this yet... single side Werewolves incoming.

    I am optimistic about this.

    Amen.

Can't wait to see single-sided Werewolves. Maybe they'll finally be Constructed playable. It feels good to see them come through on this since so many of us predicted/argued it.

I will be curious to see if you guys can pull off tri-color decks. Seems like the manabase may prove interesting. Being in green has some advantages here with Birds.

So I guess until that perfect Lotus goes for sale, this is the most expensive Magic card to ever be sold. I had no idea they could reach these prices.
