Stop whining or stop playing magic because there will always be that one card that you hate. I hated Delver, stoneforge, and bloodbraid elf but didnt go trolling on forums.
Bant Enchant is what happens when all the Verdict decks get pushed out of the format and people are willing to play a deck with the minimal number of decision trees. Same as it was in Block. Not looking forward to seeing if the deck is good once the mana in it isn't garbage.
Yeah it seems like that deck autoloses to sweepers and ... sweepers. I was playing Bant with a splash of red for wolfrun and sweepers in the main ( 4 verdict) and I played 5 zombie decks, selesnya aggro, american midrange, and jund. It all depends on your matchups. Our one buddy made day 2 with jund just because he ended up playing 5 RDW. I ended 6-3 so im not too upset.
Huntmaster is a good creature to drop by himself and just beat with only him. He is a powerhouse and makes it so you dont have to overextend with creatures.
You could throw omnidoor in there because I can guarantee you will see some at gp ac but I have played it and you just have to know what turn they go off to kill them before it or what to counter. Always counter the tutor spell.
nothing from this standard will make it into modern because this standard is all about dropping a large creature. large creatures don't have much business in modern unless you're playing gifts, but even then graveyard hate is so prevalent. all those decks you listed are either tempo, super explosive, or combo.
Big Garruk + Wolf Run is just as sick. I've been in games against Naya, where they've drawn 11 cards off it late-game. I agree though that Revelations are immensely powerful, but not against aggro decks. I always side mine out against R/B and RDW.
I agree that is sick but essentially you are using 3 cards to equal one card lol. Revelation is OP and would highly recommend picking a playset up with esper becoming a huge contender in controls realm.
This sums up my feelings perfectly, and is a reason I harbor a great deal of resentment for the "average" magic player. Players complained about things and got all their dreams to come true.
Ruined standard for me. Either you go faster than him, or you go over him, but he's still warped the format so much, that I'm losing interest in playing.
If thragtusk wasnt here then the format would be stupid fast. He slows things down and makes control and multiple other decks viable. If he wasnt here think how bad zombies/rakdos aggro would be. It would be insanely stupid fast. You aren't happy with everything doing fine and would rather have only fast decks? I myself and much of the other magic community enjoy playing past turn 4. Standard is well balanced now with every single type of deck seeing play and being a contending deck.
I would not invest anything into Sphinx's Revelation. It has been overhyped every since Sam Black's article. SCG has been doing this kind of stuff for years now. Recommending 4 in every deck that played U/W is what allowed B/R aggro win 2 GPs in a row. GP Charlotte I beat bant all day long just because I had Counterflux and dispel in my 75. The aggro is too fast for it. The control decks and midrange all have tools to deal with it. Bant Control really isn't strong without it. I expect more slaughter games to see play after we get watery grave.
The format is just going to get faster after Gatecrash when you are looking at Geist of Saint Traft on turn 2 consistently. Then going to be followed by a spectral flight, Sublime Archangel, or ajani.
Expect to see a very fast meta game after gatecrash. We are getting boros which is an aggro type guild. The green decks get breeding pool making bant aggro possible. Because of Kiblier's G/B aggro, Aristocrat, and increase in mana dorks I expect to see tragic slip to see a lot of play. I would stay away from any mythic or rare that gets taken out by slip.
Cards I'd look at right now is:
Restoration Angel
Snapcaster
Geist of St Traft
Sublime Archangel
Ajani
Hellrider
Huntmaster
Thundermaw Hellkite
Oliva
Cavern of Souls
Kessig Wolf Run
Gavony Township
Bonfire of the Damned (this is the big one to jump on if you see it dip at all)
Angel of Serenity
Sigarda
Lilliana of the Veil
I know most things on this list are naya and bant but those are the 2 decks that have the most promise. 2 of the top teir decks right now have very bad mana bases and are doing very well. Stomping Grounds and Breeding pool fix those issues and we get more cards to make them even better.
Uhm what? Have you played against or played with sphinx's revelation? Whenever it is used mid - late game it pretty much means you win the game lol. Unless they also revelation or it is countered that is a game ender. You can't do anything about being that many cards behind at that point of the game. Especially if you draw another revelation off your first. I would highly recommend picking them up if you plan on playing any rampy/controlly decks.
Almost any deck is viable. My buddy was playing naya ( mainstream naya with hellkites and huntmaster... expensive.dec) and he lost to a collective blessing token deck at the last gpt we went to.
uhm no way. Deathrite cannot fit into as many decks and be useful no matter what. I enjoy playing a huntmaster vs zombies, control, midrange.... any deck really....shaman... mainly rites, zombies, and flash decks.
Boros charm as a 1 or 2 of
An aurelyia's fury or 2
Possibly some skullcrack in the side?
Stomping grounds
A couple Sacred foundry?
Decks that don't run revelation:
Jund
RDW
BR Rakdos
BR zombies
GB kiblers list
Selesnya aggro
Naya Midrange
Bant enchantments

2: Geist of saint traft
3: farseek
4: Sphinx's revelation
5: Restoration angel
Bant control
B/R zombies
B/r rakdos
Reanimator
UW/r flash
Jund midrange

I beg to disagree.
Here is a list of modern cards:
lingering souls
Thalia Thraben
Deathrite shaman this is more legacy
SHOCK LANDS
Lotleth troll dredge*
abrupt decay legacy also
Rest in peace
There are more I just can't think right now.

not really. rakdos aggro, zombies, and selesnya aggro can kill turn 4/5 easily. Ive kiled t4 with reanimator also.
I could godhand kill t3 really.
t1 : avacyn's pilgrim
t2: faithless looting and lingering souls
T3: unburial rites on craterhoof behemoth .
They would be at 1 but essentially a turn 4 kill
